Donald Trump, who this week said that he was unaware of the extent of Duke of York’s involvement with Jeffrey Epstein, had previously suggested that reporters should ask Prince Andrew about activities on the disgraced financier’s private Caribbean island.
The US president told an interviewer that the late millionaire’s hideaway, Little St James, where alleged sexual abuse took place was an “absolute cesspool”. Epstein, who was convicted of child sex offences, died in a prison cell in August last year.
“That island was really a cesspool, there’s no question about it, just ask Prince Andrew — he’ll tell you about it,” Mr Trump told the news agency Bloomberg in 2015, shortly before he entered the presidential race. “The island was an absolute cesspool.”

The documents relate to Maxwell’s deposition in this litigation, as well as her early 2015 correspondence with her longterm associate, the disgraced financier [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].
Maxwell was [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] earlier this month and charged over her alleged involvement with Epstein’s sex trafficking of minors. Maxwell [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] not guilty on 14 July, and remains in jail while awaiting trial.
In the civil lawsuits, Maxwell’s lawyers had pushed to keep these records secret, claiming previously “this series of pleadings concerns [attempts] to compel Ms Maxwell to answer intrusive questions about her sex life” that are “extremely personal, confidential and subject to considerable abuse by the media”.
The Manhattan federal court judge ruled on Thursday that they could be unsealed, though Maxwell’s attorneys plan to appeal the decision.
“The court finds that the countervailing interests identified fail to rebut the presumption of public access,” judge Loretta Preska said during a telephone proceeding. “Accordingly, those papers shall be unsealed.”
The decision over these records stems from Epstein accuser Virginia Giuffre’s 2015 civil lawsuit against Maxwell. Giuffre has alleged that Maxwell recruited her to work as Epstein’s masseuse at 15 years old, when she worked as a locker-room attendant in Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club in south Florida.
In this litigation, which has been settled, Giuffre alleged Maxwell had defamed her by saying that she was a liar in accusing Epstein and Maxwell of sexual misconduct.
Following Preska’s decision, one of Maxwell’s attorneys asked for two weeks to appeal this decision, given the new criminal case.
Preska said Maxwell’s team had one week to file the appeal motion, and asked to be informed if the appeals court didn’t rule within one week. She asked the attorneys to nonetheless continue working on preparing these papers for the release in the interim.
A large tranche of documents in this lawsuit was also released last August; they contained both sensational claims and denials that world leaders were involved in Epstein’s sex trafficking.
They were released shortly after Epstein’s arrest last July for sex trafficking. Epstein killed himself in prison in August.

Lady Colin Campbell is not a disgusting person, what she says is 100% spot-on.  Epstein and his clan are not paedophiles, they have a penchant for teenagers.  This is nothing new.

When my brother was 23 years he met a girl who was 14, they married seven years later - no way was he considered to be a paedophile.  Also I once worked with a charming young lady who met her husband to be when she was 14 - he was a London copper.  No way was he a paedophile.

Young men used to watch schoolgirls playing netball because they like the display of navy blue knickers.  Love and lust make the world go round.

I'll wager these teenagers know exactly what they're doing when seduced by money and all that goes with it.  Just the same as groupies who follow pop and rock bands around in the hope of copping off with one.

I was 13 when I met my first boyfriend at school (he was 17) and I was pregnant when I was 17.5 years old, married at 18. We were together for 15 years. I didn't consider my boyfriend to be a paedophile and neither did my parents. In fact I didn't even know what paedophilia was back then.

Although I did meet a very pervy guy who worked in a launderette next to the shop I was working in when I was 14 and, in hindsight, I would say he was a paedophile. He was predatory. I would say he was in his late 20's. I knew the difference between him and my boyfriend.

Exactly, in the good old days no one ever heard of paedophilia.

When I was a kid, about 5 years old, I would go to the local grocer with a shopping list given by my mother. The grocer would pop-up from behind the counter with a little girl - I knew, even at that age, that something wasn't right. I told my parents who caused a stir, the grocer said I was lying because I stole something from his shop and was trying to cover for myself.

He lied and my parents didn't believe him.

Even in this day, the 21st century, countries across the globe (including Europe) accept the marriageable age to be various stages starting with puberty - around 13 for girls and 15 for boys. In particular countries it's not a crime - it's a man-made dictate according to differing moral standards.

Lady C is not disgusting. She's a delightful realist with years of life experience under her belt to stand her ground.

Obviously Epstein was guilty of sex offences because he went to prison.

At the moment, with regards to Prince Andrew, surely they're only allegations? He's been photographed with his arm around a girls waist, which isn't a crime - the same girl who now accuses him of sexual offences. He's also been photographed peeping out of a door and walking in a park with Epstein which also aren't crimes. Maybe Virginia only feels safe to say something now because Epstein is dead.

He always had a reputation for partying and the nickname given to him by the media was Randy Andy/Air miles Andy. Didn't they think to investigate his Randy-Andying at the time, especially when he was papped on yachts with young girls? Didn't they think to report him to the police or destroy his reputation and hound him out of the Royal Family back in the day, or did they think what he was doing was ok?

Where were the parents of these underage girls? If a daughter of mine, at that age, was off out on a plane to an island to give massages to a billionaire and his friends, or to spend time on a billionaire's yacht, I'd want to know about it. Surely the girls would have been out for more than a couple of hours, possibly even overnight, maybe even a few nights?

Maybe Prince Andrew was told/thought the girls were older than they really were. I'm not trying to defend him, because if he is guilty of these allegations then he must be prosecuted...but, at the moment, his very public flogging/removal from public duties/destruction of his reputation/damage to his children/wider family could lead to him taking his own life.

Then justice will never be served.

Indiscretion within Royalty is nothing new, throughout the ages they have been known to let's say .... let their hair down and party with a lot of romping.

They are only human, despite the expected standards imposed by moralistic ancient attitudes.

The wealthy live in a different world, they have the money and the front to pretty well do as they please. People like Branson open their private retreats to the rich and powerful, they live cheek by jowl in their haven of luxury, no holes barred - please excuse the crude inference.

I agree about Prince Andrew. If he's committed a crime then prosecute or exile him if his status prevents prosecution by law, otherwise leave him alone. Any excuse to find some dirt on the Royal family and the press are straight in there like a rat up the trouser leg.

What intrigues me, makes me suspicious about this whole affair, although other rich and powerful and famous persons have been mentioned in passing, Prince Andrew is the only one to my knowledge who has been named shamed and hounded.

I am not sure if you are serious!?! It is not the point what name you give to this phenomenon. The disgusting tactics here: grooming, targeting vulnerable children (not of legal age, several as young as 12 years) cornering them and ordering them to prostitute themselves and the huge age difference between victims on the one side and the pimps and users on the other side make this WRONG. US sex offender Jeffrey Epstein's former girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell said she never witnessed "inappropriate underage activities" by him, according to transcripts of a 2016 deposition.

The deposition was made in a now-settled civil defamation lawsuit brought by one of the late financier's accusers, Virginia Giuffre.

Ms Maxwell had long fought to keep the testimony secret.

She will go on trial in a criminal case next year and has pleaded not guilty.

She is accused of helping Epstein traffic and sexually abuse underage girls and of perjury for having denied involvement in any such scheme when she gave her deposition under oath.

The 58 year old has been in custody since her arrest in July. If convicted, she could be sentenced to up to 35 years in prison.

Transcripts of the deposition were released on Thursday under the orders of US District Judge Loretta Preska.

Ms Maxwell had fought to keep the documents under wraps. Her lawyers argued that releasing it would violate her constitutional right against self-incrimination and could impede her right to a fair trial next year. They said she had believed the deposition would remain confidential.

In the transcripts, Ms Maxwell repeatedly denies hiring anyone under the age of 18 for Epstein.

"I never saw any inappropriate underage activities with Jeffrey ever," she said.

"All the time that I have been in the house I have never seen, heard, nor witnessed, nor have reported to me that any activities took place, that people were in distress, either reported to me by the staff or anyone else," she said.

Ms Giuffre alleges that Ms Maxwell recruited her, and says Epstein kept her as a "sex slave" with Maxwell's assistance.

Referring directly to Ms Giuffre, Ms Maxwell said: "I never ever at any single time at any point ever at all participated in anything with Virginia and Jeffrey. And for the record, she is an absolute total liar."

Asked if she trained Ms Giuffre to recruit other women to perform sexual massages, Ms Maxwell said: "It′s absurd and her entire story is one giant tissue of lies."

Ms Maxwell said she had "no idea" how old Ms Giuffre was when she met Epstein.

In a Vanity Fair profile published in 2003, Epstein said Ms Maxwell was not a paid employee, but rather his "best friend".

In court documents, former employees at the Epstein mansion in Palm Beach describe her as the house manager, who oversaw the staff, handled finances and served as social co-ordinator, the Post reports.
What are the charges she faces?

Prosecutors allege that between 1994 and 1997, Ms Maxwell helped Epstein groom girls as young as 14. They have said that they expect "one or more victims" to testify.

Four of the charges Ms Maxwell faces relate to the years 1994-97 when she was, according to the indictment, among Epstein's closest associates and also in an "intimate relationship" with him. The other two charges are allegations of perjury in 2016.

The indictment says Ms Maxwell "assisted, facilitated, and contributed to Epstein's abuse of minor girls by, among other things, helping Epstein to recruit, groom and ultimately abuse victims known to Maxwell and Epstein to be under the age of 18".

Prince Andrew's chief accuser was a prostitute who lied about her age and was paid "half a million" by the disgraced paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, new court papers allege.

Virginia Roberts Giuffre, 37, who claims to have had sex with the prince three times when she was 17, was "on the game for about a year" before she met Ghislaine Maxwell, who is accused of sex trafficking her and a number of other young women in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

Ms Roberts Giuffre has always insisted she was a victim and never a willing participant, accusing her critics of "recycling fantasies of their version of the truth for years". She claims the men who abused her have been using their wealth and influence to keep her quiet, accusing the Queen's son of "hiding behind his mummy's skirt" saying: "I didn't do it."

Allegations contained in newly-filed legal documents claim Ms Roberts Giuffre was 16, not 15, when she first met Ms Maxwell in Florida. She is also accused of changing her story about meeting Donald Trump at the last minute and of confusing one of the men she claimed to have been sex trafficked to with another Harvard professor.

It is also alleged that she may have doctored an email and was using legal action as a form of "blackmail".

Ms Roberts Giuffre has always insisted she is trying to expose the truth, and founded non-profit organisation Victims Refuse Silence in 2015 to help fellow survivors of sex trafficking.



The sensational claims emerged in a transcript of a conversation between Sharon Churcher, the journalist who first revealed Ms Roberts Giuffre to be one of Mr Epstein's victims in a 2011 newspaper interview, and Tony Lyons, a New York publisher.

Mr Lyons' Skyhorse Group has published books by Epstein's former lawyer Alan Dershowitz, who Ms Roberts Giuffre has claimed to have been sex trafficked to six times as a minor. The Harvard professor, 81, vehemently denies the claims and has submitted the transcript in defence of a defamation action lodged against him by Ms Roberts Giuffre in April last year.

Ms Churcher met Mr Lyons at Skyhorse's headquarters on West 36th Street, New York, on October 2 last year to discuss a book about the "Me Too" movement she was working on.

During the course of their 80-minute conversation, recorded by Mr Lyons, Ms Churcher made a series of claims about Ms Roberts Giuffre, whom she first revealed as victim "Jane Doe 3" in a story published on February 27, 2011.

The article was accompanied by a never-seen-before photo of Andrew with his arm around a then 17-year-old Ms Roberts Giuffre, taken by Epstein at Ms Maxwell's London flat in March 2001.

Ms Churcher admits Ms Roberts Giuffre "got paid" for the interview – in which she described how she was recruited by Ms Maxwell to become Epstein's masseuse when she was working at Mr Trump's Mar-a-Lago country club in Florida – saying: "It was chequebook journalism."

In the original interview, Ms Roberts Giuffre describes herself as "a paedophile's dream", having been abused as a child, and details how she spent the next four years being pressured to have underage sex with Epstein and "pimped out" to powerful men.

Although she did not at that stage accuse Andrew of any wrongdoing, she claims to have met him three times – when the photograph was taken and they went out to Tramp nightclub; again at Epstein's Manhattan mansion in Easter 2001 "when Ghislaine placed me on his knee"; and a third time on Epstein's Caribbean island, Little Saint James.

It was not until three years later, in a December 2014 Florida court filing, that she described being sex trafficked to the royal at least three times when she was 17 in 2001. Buckingham Palace stated that "any suggestion of impropriety with underage minors is categorically untrue", later repeating the denials.

According to the transcript, Ms Churcher claims Ms Roberts Giuffre "lied about her age", telling Mr Lyons that Epstein had "two sides to his operation" – abusing schoolgirls and "pimping out beautiful young women to very powerful men".

Referring to Ms Roberts Giuffre, she said: "She took a year off [her age]. Apparently she was 16, not 15, when she was recruited [by Epstein]. But she'd been on the game for about a year then. Epstein's women were – he basically had prostitutes."

Ms Churcher goes to claim that Ms Roberts Giuffre is "suing everybody", including Prof Dershowitz, adding: "The idea is that he will then pay her off. This really is blackmail."

When Mr Lyons replies that Prof Dershowitz "isn't going to do that" because he doesn't want his "legacy tarnished", Ms Churcher responds: "She'll just move on to other people if she gets away with that one too. She's a big spender. She's spent so much money. Because you see, Epstein paid her off. She had settled with Epstein. She'd taken half a million, I think it was."

Ms Churcher then refers to an email Ms Roberts Giuffre sent her on May 5, 2011, also submitted in evidence, asking her to clarify the names of the men she claimed "JE had sent me to" during the interview to help her with a book pitch. The transcript of the email suggests Ms Churcher responded six days later, on May 11, 2011, saying: "Don't forget Alan Dershowitz. JEs buddy and lawyer... We all suspect Alan is a pedo…"

Ms Churcher tells Mr Lyons she would never use the word "pedo", adding: "I wonder about some of these emails, too, that she's produced. Because of course you can change emails."

Describing Prof Dershowitz as "a victim", Ms Churcher suggests Ms Roberts Giuffre may have "confused him with this other Harvard professor" who was also friends with Epstein.

Ms Churcher also alleges that Ms Roberts Giuffre "changed her story about Trump, too". In a second Mail on Sunday story, dated March 6, 2011, Ms Churcher quotes Ms Roberts Giuffre as saying: "Donald Trump was also a good friend of Jeffrey's. He didn't partake in sex with any of us but he flirted with me. He'd laugh and tell Jeffrey: 'You've got the life.'''

Ms Churcher tells Mr Lyons: "I've written what she told me about Trump. She's now saying she never said it."   The transcript, emails and a sworn affidavit by Mr Lyons were filed in evidence at the District Court, New York, on November 20.

A spokesperson for Ms Roberts Giuffre has previously rubbished Prof Dershowitz's claims, saying: "We have been to this rodeo before with Alan Dershowitz. He has been recycling the same fantasies of his version of the truth for years."

Prof Dershowitz's lawyer declined to comment. Representatives for Ms Churcher did not respond to a request for comment.

Chuck Cooper, representing Ms Roberts Giuffre said: "We are looking forward to taking Ms  Churcher's deposition under oath."

The investigation opened by France into Epstein's activities has focused on Brunel

Prominent French modelling agent Jean-Luc Brunel, a former close associate of disgraced American billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, has been detained in France on accusations of sex crimes, prosecutors said on Thursday.

Brunel was detained on Wednesday on accusations of rape, sexual assault of minors, human trafficking and being part of a criminal conspiracy, Paris prosecutors told AFP.

He was detained at Paris's Charles de Gaulle airport as he was about to take a plane to Senegal, a source close to the case added.

I venture to suggest things are not looking too well for Ms Maxwell - she's in the proverbial right up to her ear'oles! No wonder she is so desparate for bail, no doubt she wishes to disappear under mysterious circumstances.
