It won't be too long, with all the two metre distance from another human being palaver that court rooms won't be a safe place for jurors to do their duty.

Yes. It's the Scottish version of saying
"You obviously did it, but the evidence is not sufficient to allow us to find you legally Guilty beyond a reasonable doubt"
Or saying that the Civil standard "on the balance of probabilities" applies.
WIKI
Both in the "solemn" and the "summary" acquittals, not proven is interpreted as indicating that the jury or judge, respectively, is not convinced of the innocence of the accused; in fact, they may be morally convinced that the accused is guilty, but do not find the proofs sufficient for a conviction. One reason for this is the rule that in such cases the evidence for the prosecution must be [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] in order to permit a conviction. Thus, there might be a single plaintiff or witness for the prosecution, which the jury or judge believes is both truthful and trustworthy, but no other witness or circumstances against the accused. By Scottish law, the accused then should be acquitted, but often will be so by the verdict not proven.[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Hadn't picked up on this before, but Netflix (known for their wonderful productions!????!) have now got four one-hour programmes on Epstein under the title 'Filthy Rich'.
Hopefully it may be better than the MM series.

I got an email notification for that yesterday.
I wonder if Jim Gamble has muscled in somewhere - or Anphony Summer and Robbyn Swansong, or even the Olive Oyl Press.
Netflix are not known for attention to detail.

The current 'McCann suspect' aka the latest instalment of the German paedo story was supposed to distract the UK sheep from this story; The FBI want to interview Prince Andrew regarding his friendship and proclivities with Jeffrey Epstein.
So IF they do interview him, and he talks, what happens if they manage to link him with the elusive Ghislaine Maxwell, the 'posh spice' look alike, as per the 2007 e-fit?
MI5 must be very worried

Re: The Strange World of Jeffrey Epstein
OOOPPSS.
Amended. Thank you.
I don't even know what day it is, let alone what month
British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell has been charged with playing a role in the "sexual exploitation and abuse" of multiple underage girls by Jeffrey Epstein, according to a court filing.
Maxwell, who has kept a low profile since Epstein's death in August last year, was arrested by the FBI in New Hampshire on Thursday on charges related to the financier.
Epstein was accused of raping and trafficking underage girls over nearly two decades.
Some of Epstein's alleged victims have said Maxwell lured them into his circle, where they were sexually abused by him and powerful friends.
A court filing now made public said Maxwell "assisted, facilitated and contributed to Jeffrey Epstein's abuse of minor girls by, among other things, helping Epstein to recruit, groom, and ultimately abuse " girls under the age of 18.
Maxwell has repeated denied any wrongdoing and said some of the claims against her were "absolute rubbish".

Craig Murray @CraigMurrayOrg
Part of me want Ghislaine Maxwell locked up for a very long time. Part of me wants her to cop the plea deal of the century and spill the full story on some of the world's most powerful men.
Most of me, however, expects she is going to get suicided like her boss.

Charged and incarcerated without bail.
Why do I feel this trial, if it ever gets to trial, will take around 2 to 3 years

Yesterday there was a spoof BBC report floating around dated about 10 days time saying Ghislaine had been moved to intensive care in view of her coronavirus infection.
I meant to screenshot it, but this morning there is no trace that I can find.

Open part-time ones sometimes.
I'd like to know a bit more of how she came to be arrested and where she was up to that point... was she even in the USA? I thought she wasn't.
Anyway... we'll see how this one plays out.

Interesting language from an official.Financial Times wrote:US officials said on Thursday that they had been keeping tabs on Ms Maxwell as they built their case. “We've been discreetly keeping tabs on Maxwell's whereabouts,” said William Sweeney, assistant director in charge of the FBI's New York field office. “More recently, we learnt she slithered away to a gorgeous property in New Hampshire, continuing to live a life of privilege while her victims live with the trauma inflicted on them years ago,” he added.
