Smithman didn't wander around, he was probably going to put the body in the water, so the next tide would bring it back to the beach and a funeral could take place. The S family forced him to come up with a plan B, no doubt improvised.
A. If Madeleine had been internally injured as described in Kate’s book then any chance of a Benevolent force like the Ocean returning her for a Post Mortem and proper Burial can be ruled out.
The body would talk. Therefore it should never be found.

Re: Smithman theory
Peter didn't notice anything in particular, too worried about his wife who wasn't feeling well. Martin noticed that the man was not carrying the child comfortably and Mary that he lacked courtesy (no greeting). Aoife has an eagle eye, but she had the advantage of still being on the steps leading to 25 April Street and of seeing Smithman from a low angle, which widened her perspective.

As described in Kate's book ?
Of course, in such a scenario, M would have been the victim of a predator who had finally dumped her into the ocean to remove all traces of his DNA. With a bit of luck crabs would have already started cleaning the body. The autopsy could only have confirmed that the child had not drowned.

Goncalo Amaral said Madeleine was stored in a freezer, this video talks about the Smith sighting and access to a freezer.

Re: Smithman theory
Sometimes newborn babies, not 4-year-olds, are kept in freezers, but belonging to the progenitor. Lambs, if not industrially, are frozen in pieces, not whole, in special packaging and for no longer than 6/8 months to avoid decay. GA tried but couldn't bury his tiny dog, the ground was too hard, so he found another solution, but not the freezer one !

Do you believe Madeleine was kept in a fridge before being moved and put in the hire car Anne?

Re: Smithman theory
No, Crusader, I don't believe Madeleine was kept in a fridge nor elsewhere. Two points struck me as decisive in the group's statements about the night of the disappearance before the arrival of the GNR : G was roaring like a bull and K let out a scream that Salcedas would never forget.

Wouldn't a body be in something such as a waterproof, heavy duty refuse sack? That way, if thawing took place, there would be no leakage.

Re: Smithman theory
I don't think anybody would put an unwrapped corpse in the back of a car. The risk would be too great, and I'm surprised that Goncalo Amaral believes this happened, unless my theory is wrong.

Re: Smithman theory
Of course if there were nothing to hide, cover up or mask the smell of, there would be no need to put smelly rubbish in the Boot area?
Or leave the Boot flap open to Air all night long.

Re: Smithman theory
Dirty nappies and fish , maybe it was Sean and his apparent liking for seabass , according to daddy Gerry anyway !
I wonder when the twins were toilet trained ? They made a big deal of them going into their own beds not cots ! But they made a big deal of many things - look over there not over here !

Someone removed the Cake in order to keep the Lie alive that it was Stolen.
Gerrys comment 'the Night WE found her' denotes a Night time Death when (they) Kate and Gerry found her together. https://youtu.be/z_YfUehsac0?feature=shared
They were not together on Thursday Night when they raised the Alarm.
Kate was alone in the Apartment during the crying incident on Tuesday.

It seems it is K leaving the flat after talking furiously on the phone to her friend/nanny who had woken her kids making some cry.

Re: Smithman theory
I always come back to Kate saying -
" I know what happened wasn't due to us leaving them sleeping , I know it happened under other circumstances "
First - " I know what happened ... "
Second - " it wasn't due to us leaving them sleeping ... "
Third - " it happened under other circumstances ... "
So she knows what happened , nothing to do with the kids being ( allegedly ) left sleeping
It , whatever " it " was , involved something else she's not prepared to say !

Re: Smithman theory
It's very irritating to hear people imagining a narrative and attributing to you a role which is not yours. But it's very irritating for the public to hear people telling tall tales and it's no surprise that the public tries to find a plausible solution. The only thing K knows better is that M died, just because she saw her body. The rest (when, how exactly, with fear or anxiety, etc.) she has to guess.

May I ask you, Anne, how you think M died? I'm sorry if you've given your opinion about this previously.

Re: Smithman theory
Honesty, as M was probably dizzy (benzodiazepines ?), she might have fallen head first behind the sofa and been trapped without the strength to free herself. This type of suffocation accident is not uncommon.
