Not exactly shock horror but the television has just announced the next programme on the schedule..

'This programme contains a mature theme - parental guidance advised for under thirteen year olds.

Unless evolution has progressed beyond the accepted developement of an adolecent, puberty generally begins at the age of thirteen. It could be argued that thirteen year olds could be considered mature in many respects but it's not a global rule of thumb. Maturity depends on the individual child.

That aside .... mature content? What exactly is that supposed to mean?

Over the years the problem has not gone away, it's being slowly introduced on the presumption that no one will notice until it's too late.

Here's a radical idea. Let children be children for as long as possible - childhood is short compared to the rest of your life. Why enforce development and maturity on innocent minds?
