To heighten awareness of the extensive work of CMOMM and the MMRG over the past years, thanks to forum owner Jill Havern's commitment, hard work and talent for design, a new initiative has today been launched in the form of a blog.

Initially built on the latest CMOMM forum addition, the MMRG forum, the new blog is to provide a 'straight- to' comprehensive information source, presented in a format designed to facilitate direct and easy access to forum research.

The admin team hope you will find this a useful tool and that you enjoy the new venture.  It is after all for you

As most of you are aware Forumotion forums have been having problems lately, including this forum, of which they are aware.

This forum has been, as still is on certain threads, loading slower than it used to...particularly those threads that contain a lot of images.

And it is mainly caused by photographs and other images that had previously been posted on the forum from such hosts as photobucket, twitter, facebook. Photobucket doesn't exist anymore.

When Forumotion did their latest Maintenance they did something to their servers that means only images uploaded directly...

Why the Botched Burglary Is Such a Good Theory in the Madeleine McCann Case

    Friday, April 29, 2016

As the Madeleine McCann case winds down, there is fairly good speculation that Scotland Yard's final determination will be that Madeleine McCann died as a result of a botched burglary. And there has been much disbelief that this kind of crime could have anything to do with the disappearance of Madeleine McCann; after all, what do burglars want with a three -year-old child? Why would they kidnap her instead of just running...

    Madeleine McCann and Operation Grange

At the outset I should say that I don't know what happened to Madeleine McCann.  All the evidence available to me – and there is more and deeper information available to the public on this than any case I have looked at – does not convince me of any theory or scenario being proved.  Soon, in the coming months when my other projects are less busy, I hope to take a proper analytical look at it all and come up with some conclusions.  But as things stand my position...

This is the first in a planned series of articles that will deconstruct the Madeleine McCann story.  The study of this story has traditionally been undertaken by those trying to solve the mystery of what happened to Madeleine?  I am offering something different, a textual study that will investigate the story of Madeleine McCann as a work of allusion and intertext.

“Intertext – a text that is related to one or more other texts through the use of allusions to these texts.”

Tabloid Century: The Popular Press in Britain, 1896 to the Present

Popular newspapers in Britain are commonly criticised for providing unsophisticated, distasteful and intrusive journalism, driven by an aggressive pursuit of exclusives and an unscrupulous desire for profit. The revelation that the News of the World hacked the phones of individuals including murdered schoolgirl Milly Dowler (a revelation that prompting the closure of the newspaper in July 2011) is an example which helps to explain why attitudes towards tabloids...

This article is probably unpopular. The point of this blog is not to make you agree, but to make you think; if I did not express views which are not the view of the majority, there would be no point in writing at all. This is not an applause seeking echo chamber of popular sentiment.

    Disliking the McCanns
    by Anne Enright

    London Review of Books

It is very difficult to kill a child by giving it sedatives, even if killing it is what you might want to do. I asked a doctor about this, one who is also a mother. It was a casual, not a professional conversation, but like every other parent in the Western world, she had thought the whole business through. She said that most of the sedatives used on children are over-the-counter antihistamines, like the travel sickness pills that knocked me and my daughter out on an overnight...
