Thank you for finding this PeterMac, it had been whooshed from youtube some time ago because I'd had it posted on one of my blogs and it said video couldn't be found
But I think it deserves it's own thread and even be a sticky

Re: "The Hills are alive - with the sound of Barking"
Agreed - great video.
Interesting that in the case followed in the video we see 'rotting meat' being placed above the corpse. Was this to try and mask the scent? ...and if that failed was it to make the police 'assume' any dog alerts were false-positive and thus deter them from bothering to dig any deeper?
The Portuguese GNR dogs (not Eddie and Keela) reacted to a fridge in Apt 5J. The fridge had rotting food in it and it was assumed this was a 'false positive' and the odour had distracted the dogs.
As we know Eddie and Keela reacted respectively to Human cadaverine and blood in the McCann's apartment, (as well as cadaverine on items of Kate's clothing and Madeleine's 'CuddleCat' toy). They also reacted to the scent of cadaverine and traces of Human blood (which was a good DNA match for Madeleine's) in the McCann's hire car, (hired over 3 weeks after Madeleine's disappearance). The response from TM was that the dogs had reacted to rotting meat in the car and soiled nappies. However I recall that Martin Grimes, the dogs' handler, stated there had been no false positive alerts, such as to meat or pork, either in live cases or training.
Then there's Gerry blogging (blog subsequently removed) that he'd disposed of a fridge from the apartment they were staying after moving out of Apt 5A, (instead of simply calling the owner/renter to sort out any broken appliance as a normal person would do).
The smell of death... the responses of accurate, well trained dogs... the presence of rotting food, (which doesn't distract the dogs!)... and fridges!
Just like the stench of rotting meat placed over the corpse's body in the above video... this case stinks.

Very clear analysis, Knitted, and thankyou; we need to keep this issue in the loop. And isn't interesting that not one media writer or presenter has been able to keep the role of Eddie and Keela anywhere in the news mix about the case. Just one element I suppose in all the items that are never discussed and never mentioned. Where does this ban come from, and why do journalists - trained to analyse! - collude with it so faithfully?

Wow the body was buried 10ft down and all three dogs alerted exactly the same.
No person deserves to be buried like that. Beyond disgusting.
Those dogs and their handlers cannot be thanked enough for the work they do.
Deserves to be seen as widely as possible imo.

Winters & Goose and Jim Gamble had a ruddy good go at dissing the dogs....Searcher wrote:Very clear analysis, Knitted, and thankyou; we need to keep this issue in the loop. Ya...and we're told by a certain doctor that dogs are "notoriously unreliable."
IF anything untowards ever happened to him, his family must pray the Police won't deploy dogs to find him..... because he didn't believe dogs can be trusted.

And he must also pray that no dog ever scents his urine to discover kidney cancer, or his skin to find malignant melanoma, (caused by all that golf and holidays on the Algarve,)
or that his house ever falls down in a earthquake and he needs to be found . . .
Because they would be wrong. That's correct, isn't it ? They are all USELESS. Notoriously so, in fact.
