"However, I was very young at the time, it was a very stressful and traumatic environment, and Mr. Dershowitz has from the beginning consistently denied these allegations," she wrote. "I now recognize I may have made a mistake in identifying Mr. Dershowitz. This litigation has been very stressful and burdensome for me and my family, and we believe it is time to bring it to an end and move on with our lives."

Prince Andrew looks to overturn multi-million-pound Virginia Giuffre settlement
Duke consults legal team after accuser drops separate sex abuse claim against US lawyer, admitting she 'may have made a mistake'

Prince Andrew
The Duke of York is to make a legal bid to overturn the multi-million-pound settlement he struck with his sexual abuse accuser, it has been claimed.
Prince Andrew is said to have consulted lawyers after Virginia Giuffre dropped a separate sexual abuse claim against US lawyer Alan Dershowitz, admitting that she “may have made a mistake” in claiming he had abused her as a teenager.
The Duke is understood to believe that the “extraordinary” development following an eight-year legal battle prompted serious questions over Ms Giuffre’s credibility.
He is now said to be in discussions about how to force a retraction, or even an apology, from Ms Giuffre, which could pave the way for a return to royal duties.
The King will not oppose any further legal action his brother might take to clear his name, according to reports.
'This isn't about the money'
A source told the Mail on Sunday of the Duke: “He wants to see what legal routes might be available to him.
“This isn't about the money. He wants a route back to some sort of normality after a deeply trying period. I can tell you with confidence that Prince Andrew's team is now considering legal options.”
Legal experts suggest the Duke would have to file a “motion to vacate the stipulation of settlement”, providing reasons to overturn the deal, such as fraud, duress, mistake or accident.
It came as Ghislaine Maxwell, a former girlfriend of sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, defended her “dear friend” the Duke in a television interview from a Florida jail, where she is serving 20 years after being found guilty of child sex trafficking and other charges.
Maxwell claimed she did not introduce Prince Andrew to Ms Giuffre and insisted that she believed a now infamous photograph of them together taken at her London home in 2001, was a fake.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
She told TalkTV that the Duke should be “uplifted” by the collapse of the Dershowitz case as it cast new doubt on Ms Giuffre's account.
“Her story frankly has changed multiple times. It's very hard to know really what's true or not,” she said, adding that the true story “has yet to unfold”.
On the photograph, she said: “I have no memory of them meeting and I don't think that picture is real.
“There is no original of that photo, [only] copies of it that have been produced, copies of copies. Parts of it, according to some experts, looks like it has been photoshopped.
“I don't remember her in my home. I know that Virginia travelled with Jeffrey, and so it's entirely possible. But the photo doesn't appear to be real, and I don't recall it being taken.”
Ms Giuffre accused Prince Andrew of raping and abusing her three times in 2001, when she was 17.
She sued him in August 2020, setting in train a bitter six-month legal battle.
The Duke has always vehemently protested his innocence and was determined to take the civil case to trial to clear his name.
However, Buckingham Palace urged him to settle as the lurid claims increasingly dominated the news agenda and threatened to overshadow last year’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
The two sides reached an out-of-court settlement last February, shortly after the Duke was stripped of his military titles and charity patronages and ordered not to use his HRH title.
The $12million settlement deal included a 12-month gagging clause that will expire next month, raising the prospect that Ms Guiffre might be free to repeat her allegations.
In November, Ms Giuffre admitted that she “may have made a mistake” in accusing Mr Dershowitz of sexually abusing her as a teenager.
The admission drew a line under eight years of claims and counterclaims between the pair as she agreed to withdraw her defamation suit against the Harvard law emeritus.
For several months, Ms Giuffre’s legal proceedings against Mr Dershowitz and the Duke had continued in parallel.
The Duke’s barrister, Andrew Brettler, insisted in court that Ms Giuffre’s pattern of filing lawsuits against high-profile individuals should “no longer be tolerated”.
The Duke is now said to be taking unofficial advice from Mr Dershowitz, who has repeatedly argued that he should never have settled.
Neither Buckingham Palace, the Duke's office nor his lawyers have responded to requests for comment.

If there be any truth in this counter attack I wish Prince Andrew well and although I don't think that photograph is real, she doesn't look very traumatized does she - or was that before she was raped and (?) abused?
Sacrifice (read prostitute) yourself for the sake of money and/or shiny trinkets, you don't get to come back for another bite of the cherry.
The little strumpet has wrecked Prince Andrew's life, he has been stripped of his Royal status because this money grabbing trollop made a very very serious allegation concerning his conduct at the same time embarrassing our illustrious Royal Family.
Even if he did have sex with her, or any other prostitute, so what? She was out for the big time from the very beginning - I've no sympathy for the likes of her type. You don't get to lay yourself across a silver platter and then cry rape before the world!

Why don't they expose (pardon the inference) Boris Johnson for the man behind the mask that he is.
A serial womanizer who can't keep little willy in his trousers for more than a day - if that. I bet he was soaking up the bounty on offer at Davos with the security cameras looking the other way.

Re: The Strange World of Jeffrey Epstein
A number of court documents regarding Jeffrey Epstein and accused sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell have just been unsealed in federal court.
They're from a defamation lawsuit started by Virginia Giuffre in 2015. Giuffre has said that Epstein and Maxwell sex-trafficked her starting in 2000, after Maxwell picked her up from now-President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago spa, where Giuffre worked at the time. Maxwell denied Giuffre's claims, sparking the lawsuit.
Maxwell's attorneys have sought to keep the documents sealed. They've been unsealed, in part, so that they could be used in a similar case between Giuffre and the former Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz.
Giuffre claims Dershowitz had sex with her at Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislain Maxwell's direction — which Dershowitz denies. Now they're involved in a tangle of defamation lawsuits, and each party hopes that these documents will prove them right.
The most explosive document is a deposition Giuffre took on May 3, 2016, where she discusses in detail her allegations against Epstein and Maxwell.
In it, she says the two frequently trafficked and had sex with underage girls; directed her to have sex with people like Dershowitz, financier Glenn Dubin, model scout Jean Luc Brunel, and former New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson; and that Epstein even once flew in a 12-year-old girl from France so that he could have sex with her on his birthday. Dubin, Brunel, and Richardson, along with Dershowitz, have all denied wrongdoing.
The documents also include a 2011 interview between Giuffre and her attorneys Bradley Edwards and Jack Scarola, where she discusses more details about her experience.
There's also a 2015 email from "JE" to "GM" that appears to be another effort to discredit Giuffre.
Epstein died by suicide last year in a federal jail while awaiting trial on charges of sex-trafficking. Maxwell was arrested by the FBI earlier in July on charges of sex-trafficking. She pleaded not guilty.
Much of Giuffre's allegations have already been known from previously available court records, but her searing deposition is worth reading in full.

The documents show that Epstein was in contact with world's elite even after serving 13 months in jail for having sex with underage girls and being labeled a registered sex offender
Dozens of powerful people were scheduled to meet with Epstein including Irina Shayk, Chris Rock, Wendi Murdoch, Richard Branson, Peter Thiel and more
By Daniel Bates For Dailymail.com
Published: 14:00, 30 May 2023 | Updated: 17:24, 30 May 2023
A vast trove of Jeffrey Epstein's private calendars and emails are being revealed today by DailyMail.com.
The hundreds of pages in the files give an unprecedented insight into the late pedophile's extraordinary network of power and influence.
Among the revelations is that Epstein appeared to know personal details about the marriage of Bill Gates and his ex-wife Melinda – while magician David Blaine had numerous dinners with the financier.
Presidents, prime ministers, royalty and famous names previously not linked to Epstein are also featured in the hundreds of pages of documents.
They show that Epstein courted the world's elite even after serving 13 months in jail for having sex with underage girls – and being labeled a registered sex offender.
As he sought to rehabilitate his image, dozens of powerful people were scheduled to meet him including Irina Shayk, Chris Rock, Wendi Murdoch and Richard Branson.
Tech billionaire Peter Thiel, early Facebook investor Sean Parker, artist Jeff Koons, JP Morgan chief executive Jamie Dimon and music industry executive Tommy Mottola, who used to be married to Mariah Carey, are also among those who appear in the documents.
The files were handed over by Epstein's estate to the government of US Virgin Islands, where he owned two private islands during its investigation into his sex trafficking operation. The pedophile hanged himself in prison in 2019 while awaiting trial.
Just like Epstein's notorious 'Black Book' of contacts, the schedules contain personal numbers and email addresses that allowed him to access his associates whenever he wanted.
Here, DailyMail.com takes you through the records in depth, broken down by each figure involved.
Prince Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson
Prince Andrew has admitted to being friends with Epstein for more than a decade. He flew on his private plane numerous times, stayed at his properties and even visited Epstein's island in the Caribbean, witnesses have claimed.
Epstein victim Virginia Roberts claimed she was forced to have sex with the Duke when she was 17, claims he denied. But last year Andrew settled a civil lawsuit brought by Roberts for a reported $12million.
The Epstein files show that the pedophile used Andrew's name while trying to persuade JP Morgan to let him act as an intermediary for wealthy clients.
Epstein was trying to persuade the bank to work with Bill Gates on a $100m fund for elite donors and a crunch meeting was taking place on August 31, 2011.
In the email to JP Morgan boss Jes Staley and senior banker Mary Erdoes, Epstein said that investors were wary of the bank because it was a 'quasi US govt arm'. Epstein wrote: 'I am also aware JPM has a colorful array of clients so a client relationship is much less problematic than an institutional joint venture'.
Among the wealthy men Epstein reeled off was Prince Andrew. Epstein said: 'He is now allowed to make money'.
The timing of the email is revealing and suggests Epstein knew intimate details about Andrew's finances, which were tied up with those of his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, with whom he stayed close after their 1996 divorce.
In May 2010 Ferguson was caught in a newspaper sting asking for $550,000 for access to Andrew.
She told an undercover newspaper reporter: 'That opens up everything you would ever wish for. I can open any door you want, and I will for you.'
Ferguson later said that she 'deeply regretted' making the comments and said her ex-husband had no idea about meeting the undercover journalist.
Ferguson had apparently been driven to such measures because of her $5.5million debts but in July 2011 she said that they had been paid off thanks to the intervention of Andrew.
Under the arrangement, Epstein paid $17,000 to Ferguson's former PA Johnny O'Sullivan which helped to stabilize her finances.
Epstein's email to JP Morgan came a month after that announcement, making it clear that Andrew had discussed his and Ferguson's financial situation in depth.
In a scheduling entry for March 3, 2010, Epstein's assistant wrote: 'Still need to try and schedule the Duchess for Tues or Wed (I have emailed her assistant, Amanda, RE a meeting'.
The 'Amanda' appears to be Amanda Thirsk, who worked for Andrew for many years. Epstein replied: 'Duchess anytime.'
Pictures posted on Facebook by married couple Jojo and Lyn Fontanilla, Epstein's housekeeper and driver, on March 5, 2010 – two days after the emails – showed Andrew visiting Epstein's New York townhouse.
Another image shows a smiling Ferguson with JoJo Fontanilla in Manhattan with a shopping bag in her hand, while one from the previous month, posted by Lyn Fontanilla, shows Ferguson at Epstein's New York mansion.
A lawyer for Andrew did not respond to requests for comment. Fergie's spokesman had no comment.
David Blaine and Chris Rock
David Blaine's only previously known connection to Epstein was appearing in his black book of contacts but the two men appear to have had a friendship, the records suggest.
In June 2013 Epstein had a dinner with the futurist Pablos Holman and a 'Jessica Joffe', which appears to be the actress of the same name.
The schedule says: 'David Blaine will stop by toward the end of dinner.'
Reached by phone, Holman said he thought he was in San Francisco at the time of the dinner but said 'I don't know exactly'.
He said that he knew Blaine and called Epstein the 'most toxic thing in the whole world'.
Holman said: 'Even if there was a dinner I probably wouldn't want to say anything about it'.
Joffe did not return calls for comment and nor did her representatives.
In September 2013 Blaine attended another dinner at Epstein's house with Woody Allen, Jeff Koons and his wife Justine, the records show.
Then in January 2014, Epstein planned another dinner with friends including his girlfriend, a young Eastern European called Karyna Shuliak, Woody Allen and Jes Staley.
Blaine was also listed among those attending and the schedule says that 'Sarah and Brian' would stop by, Sarah being Sarah Kellen, one of Epstein's top recruiters.
The calendar also says that 'maybe Chris Rock' would be coming, the first time that the comedian has been linked to Epstein. In 2002 Epstein did invite another comedian, Chris Tucker, on a trip to Africa with former President Bill Clinton aboard Epstein's private jet.
A source close to Rock said that he did not attend the dinner. The source admitted that Rock was friendly with Woody Allen – the comedian has previously said he has watched the director's movie Annie Hall more than 80 times – but that Epstein may have confused him with Tucker.
On April 4, 2014, Epstein's calendar says: 'Reminder David Blaine's birthday is April 4'.
The following day states: 'TBD with David Blaine'.
David Blaine did not respond to DailyMail.com's request for comment.
Bill Gates
Gates and Epstein had several meetings as the pedophile tried to persuade him to be the face of a fund where wealthy investors put in at least $100million each.
Earlier this month the Wall Street Journal reported that Epstein threatened Gates in 2017 when he found out he had had an affair with a Russian bridge player, Mila Antonova.
And last week DailyMail.com broke the news that Antonova was pictured in 2010, around the time she had her relationship with Gates, with notorious Russian spy Anna Chapman.
The calendars show a string of meetings between Gates and Epstein where they were discussing how the fund would work.
In April 2011 Gates was scheduled for a dinner with former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers and Jes Staley, who at the time was the head of JP Morgan.
Over the following months, Epstein repeatedly emailed Mary Erdoes, a top JP Morgan banker, and Staley to try to set up the fund.
On August 15, 2011, Epstein claimed that the fund would 'Allow Bill (Gates) to have access to higher quality people, investment, allocation, governance without upsetting either his marriage or the current sensitivities of the current foundation employees'.
Epstein appears to have been aware of the tension within Gates' marriage to Melinda French Gates over their friendship; she later said that she despised Epstein but her former husband continued to meet him anyway.
Gates's friendship with Epstein was said to be a key factor in his divorce, although Gates was also accused of sexual harassment at Microsoft and admitted one affair.
Two days after that email, Epstein claimed that Gates was 'terribly frustrated' with how the talks about the fund were going.
Epstein suggested that JP Morgan let him work with wealthy clients and then possibly split the fees with them.
As he put it: 'I cook it slowly, adding various ingredients, almost fully cook it and then want to turn it over to you.'
In another email Epstein bragged: 'This will be very HIGH profile…it will be the most exclusive of clubs.'
He also suggested that JP Morgan make it possible for donors to give anonymously in case his involvement proved problematic for them.
The email to Erdoes said: 'Though membership in the "club" could be known the gifts can be given anonymously. This will fulfill the wishes of many that have spoken to Bill about wanting to do things but not wanting the publicity. For example another school, program etc may have expressed reservations that giving publicly would send a complex message to those institutions that have already close relations to that the donor.'
In another email Epstein suggested to JP Morgan that when the fund was up and running 'Bill gets reduced fees and then channels the discount to me'.
In October 2011 frustrated Epstein claimed that the fund talks were 'not going well' and that there was a 50/50 chance of it working out, down from 95/5. He ranted: 'This is not about SOCIAL INVESTING'.
At one point Epstein emailed Staley and Erdoes to complain that Gates is the 'only person who counts'.
The fund never worked out but Epstein continued courting Gates and scheduled a dinner for him two years later, in October 2013.
The following January Epstein had a note in his schedule to 'follow with re the sweatshirts for Bill' and others, apparently referring to a gift he had in mind for him.
Weeks later the diaries indicated a Skype call with Gates and in September 2014, Gates came to New York for a number of meetings with Epstein.
On September 8 the schedule said that at 10am Epstein was to meet Gates and billionaire Tom Pritzker at the Park Hyatt hotel in Manhattan.
They were to walk to the office of Leon Black followed by a meeting with Mort Zuckerman, both billionaire investors.
Later that day, Gates and Epstein would meet Kathy Ruemmler, the former Obama White House counsel, at the Four Seasons Hotel in Manhattan.
Epstein's pursuit of Gates appears to have culminated in the dinner at his New York home with Melinda Gates, which is thought to have been the only time she met Epstein.
Epstein rolled out the red carpet with some of his most important friends: Thorbjorn Jagland, the former Norwegian politician, and Norwegian diplomat Terje Rød Larsen, former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers and his wife and Eva Dubin, his former girlfriend and her daughter Celina, who treated Epstein like an uncle.
The note says that 'Richard Branson may join the dinner'.
But the charm offensive did not work and Melinda later said she had 'nightmares' about the evening and thought Epstein was 'evil personified'.
The last entry for Gates in the schedules is from November 2014 when Epstein's pilot Larry Visoski emailed Epstein's scheduler, Lesley Groff, to say that Epstein wanted to be in Washington by 1.30pm 'to meet with Mr Bill Gates in the afternoon'.
Nobody for Gates responded to multiple requests for comment. Nobody for Melinda French Gates commented.
Woody Allen
Epstein's friendship with director Woody Allen was known but the closeness of their relationship comes to light through the calendars.
Some months they met multiple times each month and on one occasion Epstein had a note saying to take a walk with Allen.
The first entry is in September 2011 and notes that Epstein had to attend one of Allen's rehearsals.
The following January Epstein invited Allen and his wife Soon-Yi to dinner – Epstein's staff sometimes ordered Beck's beer and flourless chocolate cakes.
The dinner was followed by another meal the following month, this time with TV personality Dick Cavett among the guests.
In November 2012, Allen's assistant emailed Epstein asking if 'Jeffrey is interested in watching his new film To Rome With Love'.
That same month one of Allen's associates came to Epstein's New York home to finish editing a film which appears to have been a TV movie about magic with David Blaine.
A listing for September has Allen and Soon-Yi attending another dinner with Koons and his wife Justine, followed by a lunch a few weeks later with Allen and Koons.
In December 2013, Epstein went to another screening of one of Allen's films at the Manhattan Film Center, followed by a birthday party for the director.
Later that month the calendars say that Epstein would 'depart LA for ranch with Woody Allen', apparently referring to Epstein's New Mexico ranch.
On December 29, the schedule says that Allen was 'in PB (Palm Beach) with Jeffrey'.
September 2014 was one of the busiest months for their friendship and there was a dinner with former Obama White House counsel Kathy Ruemmler and Pay Pal founder Peter Thiel.
The next week Allen had an appointment with Epstein and Leon Black, a close friend of the pedophile.
In October 2014 the schedule says: 'Editing Lesson rom Woody Allen at 71st (Movie: Psycho by Alfred Hitchcock)'
A July 2015 entry says that Allen and Previn will be over for dinner at Epstein's home in New York. The schedule says: 'What for dinner? Soon Yi said to 'surprise them'.
Nobody for Allen or Koons responded for comment
Jes Staley
Staley was chief executive of JP Morgan's exclusive private bank, which had Epstein as a client, and then the bank's chief executive until he left in 2013. He became head of British bank Barclays in 2015 and was forced out in 2021 over his links to Epstein.
The logs show that Staley met Epstein at least 31 times from 2010-2015, many of which were after work hours at 6pm or 7pm.
In April 2011 they had a dinner with Larry Summers, the former Treasury Secretary and in January 2014, Staley was part of a group having a meal at an Italian restaurant with Epstein that also included Woody Allen.
In April 2013 Staley went to a dinner with former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak and others at Epstein's house.
In March 2015, seven months before he was appointed to lead Barclays, Staley emailed Epstein from the island of St. Barts in the Caribbean.
He said that his daughter wanted to speak to Epstein 'about her future'.
Staley wrote: 'Columbia (University) confirmed they want her to get her degree July 1st. So please save the date. You need to be there'.

Jes Staley
Staley was chief executive of JP Morgan's exclusive private bank, which had Epstein as a client, and then the bank's chief executive until he left in 2013. He became head of British bank Barclays in 2015 and was forced out in 2021 over his links to Epstein.

Around the same time, Epstein's assistant sent him a reminder: 'Jes Staley would like to have dinner with you and his family'.
But the most disturbing calendar entries feature mention of Epstein making sure that 'wine' was available for Staley during his visits – in what appears to be a possible codeword for something else.
On May 29, 2012 Epstein's scheduler Lesley Groff said that Staley was coming at 6.30pm and wrote: 'Reminder to have a bottle of the wine for Jes chilled and ready to go!'
She added that one of Epstein's housekeepers had to 'confirm back re this'
On January 7, 2014 Susan Hamblin, another of Epstein's assistants, emailed him with the subject: 'Snacks for Today'.
She wrote: 'Do you have any specific requests for your appointments with Rothschild which Jes may be joining. We will have jes' wine on hand'.
On September 9, 2014, the diary noted a 7.30pm appointment with Staley. It read: 'HAVE JES'S WHITE WINE AVAILABLE'.
On November 20 that year next to a 5.30pm appointment, the schedule said: 'Jes Staley (MAKE SURE WE HAVE WHITE WINE).'
References to 'wine' have featured in other emails between the two men which have been released in a court case involving JP Morgan and the USVI government.
On November 1, 2009, while Epstein was still in prison for having sex with underage girls, Staley emailed him while staying on his Caribbean island.
He wrote: 'So when all hell breaks lo[o]se, and the world is crumbling, I will come here, and be at peace.
'Presently, I'm in the hot tub with a glass of white wine. This is an amazing place. Truly amazing. Next time, we're here together. I owe you much. And I deeply appreciate our friendship. I have few so profound.'
On December 4, 2009, Staley told Epstein via email: 'I realize the danger in sending this email. But it was great to be able, today, to give you, in New York City, a long heartfelt, hug'.
The next day, Epstein wrote to Staley: 'You were with Larry, and I had to put up with . . .' and attached a picture of a young woman, which is redacted in the court document.
Staley responded: 'Don't tell me, a French wine.'
Epstein replied: 'Always thoughts of alcohol.'
In other previously released Epstein and Staley talked about Disney princesses including one message sent in July 2010.
Staley told Epstein: 'Maybe they're tracking u? That was fun. Say hi to Snow White'.
Epstein responded: '(W)hat character would you like next?'
When Staley said 'Beauty and the Beast', Epstein replied: 'Well one side is available'.
A lawyer for Staley did not respond to messages for comment – she has previously denied any wrongdoing.
Irina Shayk, Wendi Murdoch and Richard Branson
The sole mention of Shayk is on February 14, 2012. At the time the Russian model was in high demand and appeared on the cover of magazines like Esquire UK and was dating soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
Her career was set to take off in the following years including making her acting debut in 2014 in the film Hercules.
Representatives for Shayk did not return requests for comment.
Wendi Murdoch, the former wife of media mogul Rupert Murdoch, is listed under a September 27, 2012 entry which says she will 'possibly stop by' at 9pm.
There is also a mention of a 'Wendi' on November 6, 2010 but no further details.
At the time Murdoch was still married to her husband, who she would divorce in 2013 after 14 years together.
The possibility of a meeting is the highest known link between Epstein and Rupert Murdoch to date.
Wendi Murdoch did not respond to DailyMail.com's request for comment.
On September 20th 2013, Epstein's schedule lists a 'TBD dinner' with Bill Gates, and the Norwegians Thorbjorn Jagland and Terje Rød Larsen.
The note says that 'Richard Branson may join the dinner'.
A source close to the Virgin founder was in the UK that night where he hosted the Stars of the Year event for his company, followed by a party for his train company, Virgin Trains.
A spokeswoman for Branson was not able to comment on whether he ever met Epstein.
Peter Thiel
Tech billionaire and early Facebook investor Peter Thiel had several meetings with Epstein, the calendars show.
During one stretch in 2014 Thiel appears to have met Epstein three times in quick succession at a time when he was on the board of Facebook and in charge of venture capital firm Founders Fund.
He was also the chairman of analytics company Palantir, which works closely with the Department of Defense.
The logs show that in September 2014, Epstein's schedule listed Thiel under 'people to see'.
The two men met for dinner at Epstein's New York mansion on the 12th with Woody Allen present, the schedule says.
The following day Epstein met Thiel on his own from 2pm to 4pm after which Bill Burns, the current director of the CIA who was deputy secretary of state at the time, joined them for an hour.
The day after that, Epstein planned a lunch and said that 'maybe Peter Thiel' would come.
The two men were scheduled for lunch the following week and the entry lists Thiel's personal assistant and their number.
Thiel did not respond to DailyMail.com's request for comment.
Another tech investor who appears in the calendars is Sean Parker, the Napster founder, who was set for a meeting with Epstein in September 2011.
A source close to Parker said that the meeting 'never happened' although it was scheduled to take place.
Norway's Crown Princess Mette-Marit appears in the calendars in September 2013, with Epstein's scheduler writing: 'Princess Mette to arrive today and stay until Thur Sep 26'.
A Norwegian palace spokesman for the princess, Guri Varpe, said she was in New York on official business to attend a panel about AIDS with the head of Unilever, Paul Polman, and Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, Executive Director of UN Women.
She also attended the annual meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative, Bill Clinton's philanthropic endeavor which Epstein is said to have helped to start.
But Varpe denied that the princess stayed with Epstein as the calendars implied and said that she actually stayed at the Sonder Chambers Hotel in Manhattan.
Princess Mette-Marit has previously admitted meeting Epstein several times with Varpe saying one 'meeting' happened at Epstein's home.
In a previous statement the princess said she would 'never have had anything to do with Epstein if I had been aware of the seriousness of his criminal acts'.
Tommy Mottola, the former chair of Sony Music, is mentioned twice with reminders for Epstein to call him, once in June 2013 and another time in January 2014.
Through a spokeswoman Mottola confirmed he had spoken to Epstein.
He said: 'Mr. Epstein and I shared some mutual acquaintances, and he called me several times to request concert tickets, as many people do'.
One email in the records shows a meeting with 'Dimon' scheduled for March 2nd 2010, an apparent reference to JP Morgan chief executive Jamie Dimon.
In one email to senior staff at the bank, Epstein referred to 'Jamie', in another reference to Dimon.
A spokeswoman for JP Morgan denied that any meeting between Dimon and Epstein ever took place.
Others who appear in the calendars include Former Norwegian Prime Minister Kjell Magne Bondevik who had an 8.30am breakfast with Epstein in October 2013.
According to the Wall Street Journal, which reported on material from the documents earlier this month, among those who met Epstein was LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman.
He was invited to a dinner with Epstein, and Leon Botstein, the president of Bard College invited Epstein to the campus – where the pedophile reportedly brought some young girls with him.
Author Noam Chomsky was listed to fly with Epstein to have dinner at his New York townhouse in 2015.
Bill Burns, who has been CIA director since 2021, had three meetings scheduled with Epstein in 2014, first in Washington and then in New York at his home.
The records are emails and calendar entries sent to Epstein and his circle by Lesley Groff, one of the named but unindicted co-conspirators in Epstein's sweetheart plea deal from 2008.
A lawyer for Groff said in a statement that it was 'simply not her function to ask the reason for any appointment and never suspected that Mr. Epstein was engaged in illegal conduct'.
Throughout the logs Epstein used the email account 'jeevacation@gmail.com' which he set up for use during his 13 month prison sentence – showing his contempt for the law.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]New records reveal a slew of new details about the 66-year-old's final days of Jeffery Epstein's stay at the Metropolitan Correctional Center where, on August 10, 2019, he took his own life. They show that he sat n the corner of his Manhattan jail cell with his hands over his ears, was upset about having to wear an orange jumpsuit and complained about being treated like a 'bad guy' weeks before he killed himself. He also called himself a 'coward' and complained he was struggling to adapt to life behind bars following his July 2019 arrest on federal sex trafficking and conspiracy charges - his life of luxury reduced to a concrete and steel cage.

US Virgin Islands demands $190m from JPMorgan Chase over Epstein case
Ben Martin, Banking Editor
Monday July 17 2023, 12.01am BST, The Times
The US Virgin Islands is seeking damages of at least $190 million from JPMorgan Chase over claims that the American bank facilitated sex trafficking by Jeffrey Epstein.
It wants the bank to pay $150 million in penalties for its alleged role in his activities and hand over at least $40 million that the territory estimates the bank made from its relationship with Epstein. The figures, revealed in a US court filing last week, represent the first time that the territory specified how much it was seeking from the lawsuit.
The bank said: “This document does not reflect the nature of settlement conversations. As for the USVI’s misdirected damages theories, they are not well founded and are being challenged by us in court.”
America’s biggest bank has been caught in the fallout from the scandal surrounding Epstein, who died in US custody in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. Others embroiled in the controversy include Jes Staley, a former Barclays chief executive, who came to know Epstein when he worked at JPMorgan.
Epstein owned two islands in the territory and abuse is alleged to have taken place there. He was a client of the bank for 15 years until 2013.
JPMorgan also faced a lawsuit from Epstein accusers over its dealings with the sex offender. Last month the bank agreed to settle that class action for $290 million. It is also suing Staley to recover losses from the two lawsuits.
Ariel Smith, the attorney-general of the islands, said: “Financial penalties, as well as conduct changes, are important to make sure that JPMorgan Chase knows the cost of putting its own profits ahead of public safety.”
A trial is scheduled for October.

Re: The Strange World of Jeffrey Epstein
The Strange World of Jeffrey Epstein
Did the now-deceased, disgraced financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein have links to the Israeli intelligence community? An investigative reporter for The Miami Herald claims that credible details making the link “are not far-fetched and need to be explored in further detail and examined.”
“It’s not beyond the realm of possibility that Epstein had connections to the [Israeli intelligence community],” says Julie K. Brown, whose book “[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]” was released on July 20.
“Robert Maxwell certainly had those kinds of connections, and Epstein had a close relationship with Robert Maxwell,” the 59-year-old American journalist told The Times of Israel via Zoom call from her home in Hollywood, Florida.
Brown keenly stresses the striking similarities between Jeffrey Epstein’s death in August 2019 and Robert Maxwell’s death in November 1991. The 68-year-old British media mogul was said to have drowned after falling from his luxurious yacht, the Lady Ghislaine, near the Canary Islands. Spanish police insisted no foul play was suspected in Maxwell’s death, but rumors about how exactly Maxwell died have never gone away. One theory points to a possible suicide. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Maxwell was assassinated by the Israeli Mossad intelligence agency, for which he was secretly working.
Maxwell is [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. Many members of the Israeli intelligence community attended his funeral. So too did Yitzhak Shamir, Israel’s then-prime minister. Shamir [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] the British tycoon for the political connections he brought to Israel during the 1980s, and for the money he invested in it.
Two years ago, while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges, 66-year-old American financier Epstein was found hanging in his cell in a Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan. Since then, numerous theories have swirled about Epstein’s true cause of death, making the leap from conspiracy fodder[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].
According to Brown, “neither the FBI nor the United States Justice Department have convinced me that Jefferey Epstein committed suicide.”
“Why would Epstein give up before he even got to court?” Brown asks. She also points to a number of other murky details: Epstein breaking three bones in his neck before he died, and the fact that the two prison guards who were supposed to be keeping a watchful eye on Epstein in his Manhattan jail cell mysteriously fell asleep at the same time.
It just defies common sense,” Brown says. “And why are [US] authorities not making the information they do know about Epstein’s death public?”
Maxwell, a self-made billionaire, was born Ján Ludvík Hyman Binyamin Hoch, into a poor, Yiddish-speaking Orthodox Jewish family in Czechoslovakia in 1923. Maxwell lost both his parents in the Holocaust, and later made his fortune in the book publishing and newspaper industries.
He went on to become a parliamentary representative for Britain’s Labour Party, but the final years of Maxwell’s life were plagued by financial trouble and earned him the nickname “the crook of the century.” Maxwell defaulted on $2 billion worth of loans and subsequently raided millions of pounds from his company’s retirement fund, even stealing from his own staff’s pensions and shares in Britain’s Mirror Group as he refused to face his inevitable bankruptcy.
Following Robert Maxwell’s death three decades ago, Epstein became an important figure to certain members of the Maxwell family, who were then left bankrupt and riddled with debt. Brown notes, for instance, that Epstein attended an [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] at New York’s Plaza Hotel on November 24, 1991, at which the [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] paid tribute to Robert Maxwell.
The author also speculates that Epstein may have even offered financial assistance to Robert Maxwell’s wife Elizabeth when she became a widow. Epstein then became romantically involved with Elizabeth and Robert Maxwell’s ninth child, Ghislaine.
Known to be her father’s favorite child and his most trusted confidante, Ghislaine Maxwell may have been aware of many secrets her father took to the grave relating to his controversial political, financial, and espionage life, believes Brown.
Brown believes Maxwell was in love with Epstein, but Epstein manipulated her to gratify a sexual obsession he had with underage women, which the journalist describes as “a sickness.”
“Epstein was a [sociopath] who felt he had enough power and money to be above the law,” says Brown. “And he believed he was brilliant enough to manipulate anyone to get what he wanted.”
“How much money Ghislaine Maxwell had when her father died has always been a mystery,” says Brown. “But Maxwell enjoyed the high life, and never had any real career or job, so Epstein supported her financially.
Ghislaine Maxwell is currently charged in the United States with lying under oath and recruiting, grooming and trafficking girls to be sexually abused by Epstein from the 1990s through 2004. The 59-year-old outspoken British socialite has pleaded not guilty, and is presently being held in a New York prison awaiting trial, which is set to begin this coming November. If convicted, Maxwell could face up to 80 years in prison.
“So far, Maxwell is playing the same game with her defense [lawyers] as Epstein did: They are throwing every motion they can against these prosecutors to try to wear them down,” says Brown. “But it probably won’t work because the prosecutors that are handling [the case] this time around are much more dedicated and are not going to give up as easily.”
Brown showed how back in 2007 Epstein was accused of assembling a cult-like network of underage girls — with the help of young female recruiters — to coerce into having sex acts behind the walls of his opulent waterfront mansion in Palm Beach, Florida, as often as three times a day.
Brown’s articles also noted how FBI and court records showed Epstein was suspected of trafficking minor girls, often from overseas, for sex parties at his other homes in Manhattan, New Mexico and the Caribbean.

“This dark and deep obsession that Epstein had [with underage women] was an addiction,” says Brown. “And the victims [I interviewed] told me that if they couldn’t bring him [another] girl, he would get angry at them. I imagine Epstein was doing the same thing with Ghislaine Maxwell, saying, ‘You’ve got to bring me more girls.'”
“One of the ironies of this case is that Maxwell seemed to have moved herself away from Epstein just when my series [of articles] came out,” says Brown. “But then the whole [story] resurrected itself in her life again.”
Based on a 53-page federal indictment, Epstein back in 2008 could have potentially ended up in federal prison for the rest of his life. Instead, the non-prosecution agreement Epstein’s lawyers secretly cut with federal prosecutors at the time shut down an ongoing FBI probe into whether there were more victims and other powerful people who took part in Epstein’s sex crimes.
The deal required that Epstein plead guilty to two prostitution charges in a state court and agree to serve just 13 months in a county jail in Palm Beach, Florida. This essentially made the case that Epstein was only paying for sex, when he actually stood accused of sexually abusing minors.
“To see prosecutors, who are supposed to be advocating for victims, work so closely with Epstein’s lawyers to make this case go away was pretty surprising,” says Brown.
The journalist also exposed how Epstein’s enormous wealth and prestige afforded him extra privileges as he served his prison sentence in a Florida county jail. Brown’s book reveals how Epstein was allowed to visit his office in West Palm Beach for several hours every day. Additionally, during the hours he was inside the prison, Epstein was given access to a computer. On at least one occasion, one jail deputy saw Epstein masturbating while he watched one of his female assistants strip naked for him on Skype.
When the story broke, it led federal prosecutors in New York to open a fresh criminal investigation, which resulted in Epstein being subsequently arrested and charged in the summer of 2019. It also led to R. Alexander Acosta resigning as labor secretary in the Trump administration in July 2019. Crucially, Brown’s story explained how Acosta had helped cut the dodgy deal with Epstein’s legal team back in 2008, when he was a federal prosecutor in Miami.
When [president] Donald Trump nominated Alex Acosta to be his labor secretary in early 2017, I immediately recognized Acosta’s name as being the prosecutor who was responsible for the [non-prosecution] deal,” Brown says. “And I just wondered, how do [Epstein’s] victims feel about this — because Acosta was responsible for the Labor Department, which supervises human trafficking and child labor laws.”
Brown notes that Epstein’s vast fortune (then estimated to be approximately $500 million) enabled him to hire a so-called legal dream team, which included lawyers such as [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and Alan Dershowitz, with the necessary skills, political connections and aggressive tactics to make sure he could get immunity.
“Dershowitz has his own political connections and knows a lot of different people in the US criminal justice system,” says Brown. “But he is going to be watching Maxwell’s [forthcoming] court case closely to see who she names, and what information she really has.”
Brown’s book also points to accusations by Virginia Giuffre that subsequently surfaced in connection to the Epstein case, which allegedly link Dershowitz’s name to Epstein’s sexual pyramid scheme.
Now in her mid-30s, Giuffre is an advocate for sex trafficking victims and claims Maxwell [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] her when she was still a teenager to be a sex slave for Maxwell, Epstein, Prince Andrew, and other prominent men — including Dershowitz.
This story also recently surfaced in a Netflix documentary called “Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich.” It has led Dershowitz to [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] over what he claims are false allegations made against him in relation to these alleged crimes.
Other high-profile political figures named in Brown’s book accused of participating in Epstein’s international sex trafficking operation[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].
Brown says all the accused have the right to be innocent until proven guilty, though she stresses that given the complex history of the Epstein case and the cover-ups it involved, these allegations need to be urgently investigated.
“The FBI, the [US] federal authorities, and law enforcement authorities in Europe should all be looking at the financial and social connections Epstein had with all of these people,” says Brown. “Epstein had a whole group of people helping him to [carry out these crimes].”
“[Epstein] did not do this alone,” she says. “There were plenty of people that either knew about what Epstein was doing, or even participated in what he was doing. This was an international sex trafficking organization that was similar to an organized crime family — so it shouldn’t just end just with the prosecution of [Ghislaine Maxwell].”

The Israel connection
One chapter in Brown’s latest book argues that the complex relationship Jeffery Epstein had with the Maxwell family may provide further answers. That history stretches back to the mid-1980s, when Epstein allegedly began helping [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] hide money in numerous offshore bank accounts.Maxwell, a self-made billionaire, was born Ján Ludvík Hyman Binyamin Hoch, into a poor, Yiddish-speaking Orthodox Jewish family in Czechoslovakia in 1923. A budding relationship
After her father’s death, Ghislaine Maxwell moved from London to New York — partially to escape all of the negative publicity surrounding it, but also to reinvent herself in the city’s buzzing celebrity social circle. This was a crucial component of Epstein and Maxwell’s complex relationship: She connected him to powerful figures who were then beyond his reach such as the Clintons, Donald Trump and Prince Andrew. In return, Epstein bankrolled her.Brown believes Maxwell was in love with Epstein, but Epstein manipulated her to gratify a sexual obsession he had with underage women, which the journalist describes as “a sickness.”

The best of the worst
Brown has a detailed understanding of how prosecutors can be corrupted in a high-profile case relating to sex trafficking accusations: Her newly-released book began as a three-part series of investigative articles she wrote for The Miami Herald in 2018. They exposed a secret plea deal arranged by Epstein’s lawyers, who undermined and manipulated the US criminal justice system so their client, Epstein, could get a softer prison sentence and ultimately escape federal prosecution.Brown showed how back in 2007 Epstein was accused of assembling a cult-like network of underage girls — with the help of young female recruiters — to coerce into having sex acts behind the walls of his opulent waterfront mansion in Palm Beach, Florida, as often as three times a day.

Toppling dominoes
It was not public knowledge that Epstein and four of his accomplices named in the secret plea agreement received immunity from all federal criminal charges until Brown’s explosive expose was published three years ago. When the story broke, it led federal prosecutors in New York to open a fresh criminal investigation, which resulted in Epstein being subsequently arrested and charged in the summer of 2019. Okay Epstein was a scum bag who procured underage girls for prostitution, allegedly, does that mean ever single person male or female named in his little black book was a fellow scoundrel?

Okay Epstein was a scum bag who procured underage girls for prostitution, allegedly, does that mean ever single person male or female named in his little black book was a fellow scoundrel?
Money attracts money, the rich live in a different world - they care nothing.

Bill Richardson
Ms Giuffre said Ghislaine Maxwell sent her to New Mexico to “give a massage” to Bill Richardson, a former governor of the state.
During the same deposition she also said this term “massage” meant “sex”.
When lawyers questioned whether she had been told to give a massage to Mr Richardson, she responded with “correct”.
While Ms Giuffre was unable to recall when this demand took place or where she was at the time the instruction was given, she said she knew where she was “sent to” and later clarified the destination was “New Mexico”.
Mr Richardson has previously denied the allegations against him.
Pick it apart.
Ms Giuffre was not an impoverished child trafficked from a third world country.
Why go to the trouble and expense of procuring female flesh for your exploits when there are thousands out there quite willing to sell their bodies.
Ms Giuffre claims she was sent to New Mexico to give a massage (maybe she meant message?). At gun point, locked in a cage, handcuffed - or did she go willingly?
I think certain claimed victims of this scandal are out for a few dollar more.
In this locale a young French woman of Caribbean descent and her Ghanaian husband opened a 'beauty salon' come 'massage parlour'. It was apparent from the off it was a clandestine knocking shop attracting an assortment of weirdos. Through my own efforts the parlour was reduced to appointment only clients, all male but it made no difference, the clients still turned up as and when they felt the need.. The parlour didn't last long before it was forced to close - for obvious reasons.
The staff, all black female and of mixed origin worked willingly, they were not trafficked nor forced to perform. They live locally and have all found another venue in which to massage, such females of braided locks and very tight clothing and exaggerated face paint have no qualms about performing!

Re: The Strange World of Jeffrey Epstein
A lot of the people named would have visited Epstein's place (because of his wealth) but once they found out what was going on, would not have returned. There's no doubt a hard core of 'visitors' were regulars. A few names being published means nothing.

I live a few miles away from a Shropshire village called Knockin. There is one small village shop. It bears the very accurate title:
"The Knockin Shop"
"The Knockin Shop"

The McCanns held up these same pyjamas at two press conferences on 5 & 7June 2007. How could Madeleine have been abducted?"

New evidence in the case of the alleged suicide of convicted child sex predator Jeffrey Epstein could shed new light on his exact cause of death. Epstein’s body was discovered in his jail cell in August 2019 after he reportedly hung himself while awaiting trial.
But a recent development could potentially provide evidence that his death may have been a homicide. Epstein’s brother, Mark Epstein, remarked during an [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] that photographs taken of Epstein following his death could contradict the official narrative of suicide by hanging.
The remarks came during an interview with SiriusXM host Megyn Kelly. New York City’s Chief Medical Examiner, Dr. Barbara Sampson, determined at the time that Epstein had committed suicide in his jail cell.
Although a forensic pathologist hired by the family of the disgraced billionaire and trafficker questioned that initial ruling, Dr. Sampson asserted she stood firmly behind her conclusion, which Mark Epstein said he had no reason to doubt initially, despite the pathologist’s objection.
“I had no reason to doubt it. He didn’t have any children. Our parents are gone. He would know he didn’t have to worry about me. … so, I respected that as his decision,” Mark Epstein said during the interview.
However, he went on to say that upon meeting with medical examiners in New York City at the time, he was informed that his brother’s death could not be called a suicide “because it looked too much like a homicide.”
“So, then the questions became if he didn’t commit suicide, then he was killed, and then who killed him? How was it done?” Mr. Epstein continued before proceeding to present photos of his brother’s autopsy.
The photos showed injuries to Epstein’s neck, which looked more like a wire or thin rope had been used to strangle him, as opposed to marks from the alleged bed sheet that was used in his reported suicide.
This also raised questions with Ms. Kelly, who also failed to see the marks on Epstein’s neck matching what was conveyed in the official narrative.
“I have a hard time, as a layperson, understanding how a sheet made that mark,” Ms. Kelly said after being presented with the photos. “It’s almost like garrote was used or some sort of rope wire.”
During the interview, Mr. Epstein also pointed out several other inconsistencies, such as the reported malfunction of the security camera outside Jeffrey Epstein’s cell, Epstein’s body having been moved after he was found dead, and Mark Epstein’s inability to get answers from the government.
The Epstein bothers had been largely estranged since the death of their mother around 15 years ago, only speaking on rare occasions. According to an article published by the [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] last month, Jeffrey Epstein did not expect to be arrested in 2019, as he believed he was protected under a plea deal 12 years prior, which had granted him immunity. He was found dead in his jail cell less than a month later.
Mark Epstein said afterward that he was not satisfied with the official conclusion about his brother’s death and added that he would like the case to be reinvestigated.
Recently released documents showed multiple high-profile individuals on Jeffrey Epstein’s flight log of his private jet, including billionaire and Microsoft founder Bill Gates and former U.S. President Bill Clinton.
For now, the mystery surrounding Epstein’s death remains unresolved. Still, as further evidence is surfacing, this could paint a clearer picture of what led to his death and whether or not the initial ruling of suicide by hanging will continue to have merit.
