Could this account for them looking distraught in May? And also why they have not appeared side by side making a statement about recent developments.

Whatever is the case, I must say, I feel increasingly sorry for Sean and Amelie. They really have had a lot to deal with in their tender years and my thoughts are with them.

As for the article, it is one of the most nauseating ones I have ever read; quite an achievement thinking of all the others.

The marriage break up comment is strange; it's the sort of passing comment that would be made about something in the past that was already known about. No doubt the rest of the media will pick up on it and we'll know if there's any basis to it.

Well, we were wondering just a few days ago why everything had gone quiet - you never have to wait long with these two.

Gerry was using a different address to Kate ages ago (in the accounts) I think. His address was something to do with accommodation at the hospital where he worked IIRC.

Its always a shame when a couple break up. Especially when they had three children together and made their vows before God.

If it is true that they have split then IMO both the McCanns are moving on from their marriage and from "the search" for Madeleine, hence no mention of possibly finding Madeleine recently, only saying that following the investigation the abductor may be caught and brought to justice.

The reason could also be financial, protecting at least 50% of their assets.

Goncalo Amaral's marriage was destroyed by these two pursuing him. They want to take him for every penny he has got.
Goncalo's father died, knowing that his son's family life had been broken.
That's where my sympathies lie.
For the twins, their situation has been nothing but toxic.
Poor creatures. There lie my sympathies too.
I hope all those damaged by K and G will have the strength to put their lives back together again with time.
I have no qualms about thinking that the parents have brought this on themselves, if only by having treated their children so neglectfully as evidenced by their plight in their unguarded holiday apartment each night of their holiday in PdL April/May 2007.

the same way as the lazy commentators on the case on tv regurgitate stuff from the press rather than facts, like on a panel talk show yesterday a woman criticised the PJ in the original investigation for not allowing UK police to pursue their own leads. As far as I knew it was not a UK case to investigate, their role was to assist.
Ms Brand has regurgitated press reports which were incorrect.....there was no hotel room, for example, but this was reported years ago, she has done some of her research via newpaper reports which contained mistakes.

Well one way might be if it had been common knowledge among your news colleagues for a while but you didn't realise it wasn't official. Then the information might get past the sub editors, too - as this seems to have done.

Or she may simply have been confusing the McCanns with another couple who have lost their child - marriage breakdown is commonplace in those circumstances, so I suppose it is (just about) possible. Seems fairly unlikely, though, IMO. I believe what was printed is likely to be true but 'unofficial', because image is very important to this pair, who know the value of good PR.

just watched bbc news and they said maddy case has cost 2million so far. probably mistake, Mrs

just thought, try another zero dear,thats before they discuss recent arrests ! ooops

and ive had glass of wine ! think best to take it all with pinch of salt. Really do think now, its impossible for any kind of whitewash at end of day in investigation.

probably have for a while and openly diacuss it they just missed it
