Re: British holidaymakers can help in the hunt for Madeleine, says Kate McCann Sunday Express 2/6/13
Can someone tell me how wearing a green and yellow wristband will help to find Madeleine? This IMO is the singularly most pointless product in the McCann shop. Do people identify with each other when they notice someone wearing the same wristband? Does wearing it make a person more aware and more vigilant (especially when on holiday!!!!)? Do people going to their offices each day wearing a bit of green/yellow material around their wrists think that it raises awareness of Madeleine? Does a wristband create a conversation about Madeleine?
I find the whole selling products idea offensive but the wristband is a pi**take. That's just my opinion.

The only product that you'll see the McCanns using nowadays is the wristband.

If you buy a wristband but don't wear it, does it still work ?
Or is it like fitness training. If you do it at home, running up and down the stairs you don't lose weight.
If you drive to the gym, spend several minutes trying to park as close as you can to the entrance, change into the latest lycra shorts and top and then do exactly the same thing on a very expensive machine, and afterwards go to the bar and have a couple of pints with your mates - it works ?

In the same way as wearing a pink ribbon helps defeat breast cancer, (or homosexuality, I can't remember why I have this one).
Or help find Tia ( or perhaps April's) remains.
Again, please forgive me I can't remember what they are all for.
I am not making this up !!

Are we supposed to carry that list to consult when we see someone wearing one?
And then why don't Kate wears Madeleine's shirts all time? And put posters up. She was in PDL recently. Oh no, better ask other people to do it for her and get more $ in the fund to help...finding Madeleine. Wait but I just said she's asking other people to do it,shouldn't she gives them things for free then? So they can help?

Almost along the same lines as "making a clean breast of it" in a confessional and repeating the same lies/action when one emerges?
Do you get credit for making the effort or double penalties for knowing how wrong it is...

Products have to be updated, manufactured, ordered, paid for and kept in stock. Product orders have to be dealt with and the products have to be distributed. This process requires manpower and costs.
Much easier to ask people to hit a donate button.

That could explain the few weeks delay in buyers receiving their orders in good time, because I suspect stocks are not exactly laying around Rothley ready for shipping. Rather stocks are ordered upon sufficient purchased orders, hence the weeks if not months of time lapse between payment and delivery.
I suspect the mccanns will only ask the general wristband maker they'd prior arrangement with to customise the wristbands only when they'd received payments on enough orders. And, this customisation is done ad hoc on small batch orders from mccanns per time.
In a nutshell, I don't believe mccanns would spend money having customised stock laying around in Rothleys waiting for orders to come in, rather they are produced on orders hence paid for by purchasers' money.
Is it a complete joke to expect people to believe that the wearing of something as inconspicuous as a wristband would make a difference to the search.
If that be true, then why dont they spend their own money and have that produced in quantities, distribute them to travel agencies like Lynn Poly or Thomas Cook for example to be given away to people who booked holidays?
Or, for that matter why not physically distribute the wristbands themselves in countries of their choice?
It can so easily be done - budget flights and luggage full of wristbands and posters are all that's needed by a full time housewife claiming to be working hard on the search campaign - so what's stopping Kate?
They knew exactly what happened to Maddie and knew that proactive search activities would be waste of time money and effort, hence their non reaction as seen in their non-search of the lawless village 10ml radius of PDL where Maddie was held as claimed by their own PIs.
The mundane administration of having the product produced, packed, and posted out, is so time wasting and so trivial in the big scheme of things. But it's apparent an ex GP is willing to stuff envelopes with wristbands just to keep up a LIE.
It so makes a mockery of their search.

There is of course no reason why you could not make your own T shirt.aiyoyo wrote:

Buy one, download the poster, print onto a T shirt transfer sheet - readily available in any stationers - then iron it on.
But why would you want a 6 year old picture of a probably deceased 3 year old on your T shirt ?

Quite, NO reason at all!
Unless some stupid dipsticks ordered and paid for whatever products, then the purchases have to be honoured.
When they promote the fake notion of associating products to engaging awareness of the search, then they jolly well are obliged to have the products made upon orders and sent out, else if there are complaints to the authority as them running a money-scam site it would be more trouble for them.
For a few quids it is definitely not worth getting into trouble with the law, which might bring attention to the bigger fraud ie FUND.

This is a very odd request as well:
http://www.findmadeleine.com/support/ways-you-can-help.html
3. Wear a Madeleine wristband or T-shirt: Again this will increase awareness and contribute towards Madeleine's Fund, as well as being a show of solidarity.
Why should they need to show "solidarity" ?
Maybe this is why they called it a fighting fund - against all those unbelievers.
IMO that is what the fighting fund has been about from the beginning. When the group so cleverly got the story into the media while the first searches were still continuing, they must have been pretty stunned at the backlash from people outraged at the neglect while they went out "to dine". Media management was then swiftly in place but has not been about raising awareness as so often claimed, rather about managing and turning around the debate in the McCs favour, as well as to gather supporters who would fight their corner against all those unbelievers.
This desperate need for solidarity was very much in evidence from the very beginning, when the couple spent considerable time and effort contacting, it seems, each and every person they had ever known and asking them to go out to Portugal to "help", even in the very first hours after the disappearance. A peculiar activity when the child might have been found and returned at any moment, the need for which in those circumstances never adequately explained.
Thus they were quickly surrounded by a small army of home supporters from the very first days, signalling to observers what a wonderful couple they must be to have such a devoted acquaintance. Perhaps by extension implying that such people were absolutely innocent of any and all possible charges, including child neglect. All very much grist to the image building mill that was feverishly at work from almost the first moments.
Every press release purported to be awareness raising that the child is missing/still missing contains product placement with regard to the parents, their suffering, their torment, their stoicism, designed not only to raise public sympathy but also plants the notion that such admirable people are victims themselves and so could not possibly be involved.
Such media managment costs, not to mention the other main plank of the fighting fund, the legal team. There is no earthly way to explain why an awareness raising campaign about a missing child could or should have been described by the Team as a fighting fund, whereas image management via the media or the courts fits very comfortably under that particular banner.

Re: British holidaymakers can help in the hunt for Madeleine, says Kate McCann Sunday Express 2/6/13
Furthermore, an essential of solidarity is it's visibility, therefore the need for the array of products which allow people not only to feel supportive but to publicly display that very emotion. By these signs shall ye know them; they in turn are visible as good people "continuing the fight", "raising awareness", "keeping hope alive". Another plus is the easy marketability of such symbolism; another box ticked by those working hard on the continued search does not hurt either.
It also appears part of a strategy to get people thinking, well if they were involved, all this publicity seeking makes no sense. Wouldn't they just keep their heads down if they were? There are of course a number of reasons why someone may want to do the opposite of what the guilty might do.

Wear a Madeleine wristband or T-shirt: Again this will increase awareness and contribute towards Madeleine's Fund, as well as being a show of solidarity.
The more pertinent questions would be:
Why do they need people to contribute to the Fund when they'd suspended the search; what do they want to do with the Fund?
It all very well asking people to show solidarity, but solidarity to what exactly?
Why do they expect outsiders to continually be in solidarity with them?
What about parents of other missing children? They too deserve public support but I dont see them begging for money contribution let alone in the guise of solidarity.
This shameless pair is beyond belief - they don't know where to draw the line.

The McCanns have suspended their search for Madeleine as the SY review continues. The McCanns are 'happy' with the SY review and hope it will lead to the re-opening of the investigation in Portugal....and yet they STILL ask for money from people. They can't deny it. There are new donate buttons on their website since the SY review took place. Those donate buttons are above all the products incidentally. They are asking for money but money for what?

Not for fighting the monster who took Maddie. But for paying lawyers to fight those who dont believe their bull manure story that Maddie was snatched by a monster.

Well surely they don't ask people to donate so they can buy a stamp to put on the letter to ask for the case to be reopened. They DON'T want the case to be reopened . I don't think know who they think they can fool by saying they want it to, when they can do it in a second, but they don't.
