If the McCanns are as devout as they claim, and a Priest had been requested, then the 'Last Rites' would have to be performed before any form of disposal could take place, or?

As far as I am aware, they have never said this. They are not devout Catholics, IMO. A Catholic priest would not carry out Last Rites in the scenario you describe - before disposal of the body.

Kate's mum denied they were devout Catholics, but that is irrelevant as far as the last rights were concerned, the priest would have given the last rights to Madeleine if he was asked.
Madeleine was Christened Catholic and was entitled to receive the last rights.
Actualluy LadyinRed, you are right. A priest can't administer the last rights on a dead body that had been dead for over an hour.
He could however pray for her soul.

If Madeleine died in the apartment earlier in the week it would be too late for the Last Rites.

Maybe it is only the opinion of the Press that they are devout anything.

They have certainly printed it often enough...

More likely they are hiding behind the Skirts of Priests I find.

Yes but which priest or priests ?

Father Jose Pacheco , Roman Catholic priest of the church in Praia de Luz couldn't speak English , the one who said he'd been decieved , and soon left ?

Father Haynes Hubbard Anglican , who with his wife flew in from Canada on the 6th May and quickly became best friends with the McCanns ?

Father Paul Seddon , Roman Catholic who married Kate and Gerry , baptised Madeleine ( and the twins ?) Flew in with others to help after the " abduction"

Father David Heal Anglican , and his wife who were apparently at the apartment with the McCanns around 4am on the morning of the 4 th May . According to Kate in her version of the truth , yet no one else mentions them being there in any statement though Russell had the man's phone number in his phone . He is never seen or heard from again , no statement , no interviews just silence !

Hubbard and Heal both Anglican , so no confession , Pacheco didn't speak English , Seddon ? Who knows ? Goncalo Amaral ?

The Anglican priests might know something, it doesn't require a Confession for them.to be informed. Same for the Catholic priests.

I enjoyed that interview, a taster for what's to come. He says he has pinpointed the timing of when and what happened. What does he say in the book - parents returned late evening to find Madeleine dead on the floor?

Those involved should be feeling very nervous. PeterMac is surely correct about the parent's non-attendance at the anniversary gathering.

And I haven't forgotten how closely Sonia worked with Ben Thompson/andyfish who created all sorts of problems, and death threats, for members of this forum.

Or how she managed to doorstep Kate McCann, complete with camera crew and ribbons, shortly after Brenda Leyland's death.

I have mentioned before that I find her a bit flaky, but I tuned in for the F.D. I like his explanation for the size and weight of the book. I doubt the McCann's do though.

It's bad enough that the parents could have returned to find Madeleine dead, and instantly made the cover up decision. If they found her alive, and didn't immediately send for an ambulance, one of them attempting cpr at the same time, that's a thousand time worse, imo.

I will promote anyone, via this forum and my facebook groups, who are doing the right thing by Maddie McCann...but that doesn't mean we shouldn't discuss the bad things they do.

And if that makes this forum a Cesspit, then so be it. Just leave the death threats out of it.
