No honour amongst thieves? I think no honour amongst some ex-police officers ....
I took part in the MWT documentary. As to whether I appear or not, who knows. Try 9th March on German TV.
I spent 4.5 hours with those teams.
What I got paid was precisely zero. Not so much as a farthing.
That sounds intriguing.

Madeleine McCann revelations ‘beg questions’ but leave ‘opportunities’ for investigators
REVELATIONS concerning the prime suspect in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann "beg some questions" but leave "opportunities for further investigation", a missing persons expert has said.

Charlie Hedges, a former member of the UK police who previously was head of the Child Exploitation and Online Protection unit at the National Crime Agency, said the latest evidence that had come to light on convicted rapist and child sexual abuser Christian B “doesn’t actually give us any conclusions”. German prosecutors, who believe Christian B is responsible for the killing of Madeleine, have yet to bring charges with all publicly known evidence so far being circumstantial.
Christian B has always denied all allegations in relation to the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.
A recent documentary by German TV channel Sat.1 claimed it had evidence that Christian B had “repeatedly worked” at the Ocean Club resort where the McCanns were staying.
It also spoke to former acquaintances, who claimed they found a gun and child pornography at his addresses.
In a recent interview, Nicole Fehlinger, Christian B’s lover at the time of Madeleine’s disappearance, said he would occasionally visit her at her home in the Algarve.
Ms Fehlinger recalled the suspect phoning her on the evening of Madeleine’s disappearance to say he would drive from Tomas to her home in Foral, 38 miles from Praia da Luz.
While the most direct route would not have taken him through the town where Madeleine and her family were staying, Ms Fehlinger could not recall him arriving at her house that night.
She told the Mail on Sunday: “I don’t know if he came late that night and parked his vehicle outside and slept in there, and left that morning again, or he did not turn up.”
Asked about these claims, Mr Hedges, now a missing person specialist at Amber Alert Europe, commented: “Well, it certainly doesn't help to draw [the case] to a conclusion because it leaves more open questions about what his intentions are and what he actually did.”

Investigators would now have to corroborate what she said, he said, but “this far down the road, that’s quite difficult to do.
“So it begs some questions and leaves some opportunities for further investigation, but it doesn't actually give us any conclusions.”
Asked about the chances of a conviction, Mr Hedges said: “Nothing should be ruled out, as you never know what might be out there, but if the evidence hasn't been captured now then it makes it increasingly difficult to do much with it.
“If you look at it with a cold view and look at the knowledge of other cases, […] the chances of resolving it are diminishingly small, but that doesn't mean you can completely dismiss that. Because there is that possibility, and surprising things do happen.”
He added that it had been his “crusade” to make reverse the trend “in all areas and a lot in policing” of missing persons cases not being looked at “with enough concern from the outset”.
Mr Hedges said: “Sadly, its missing person cases that so often are dismissed as ‘oh they’ll turn up’ or ‘they’re not that important’. […] We see children go on to be harmed in lots of ways because the case isn’t treated seriously from the outset.”
Aagje Ieven, secretary general of Missing Children Europe, said that while the McCanns had received “absolutely no support” when Maddie when missing in 2007, in the 15 years since things had improved.
On February 15, Missing Children Europe marked the 15th anniversary of the 116 000 missing children hotlines.
However, Ms Ieven noted that even though they had been reserved in February 2007, they were not operational by the time Madeleine went missing in May that year.
She said: “When you look back at that case, there was a lot that wasn't in place then that is in place now.
“For example, something these parents did not have and did all by themselves was navigating the situation with the police, which was not easy in their case, because they have been treated as suspects at some point.
“Navigating the whole system, navigating relationships with the media, and that is something that currently is in place […] those are all things that the hotlines for missing children do.”
Ms Ieven said that cooperation between services and cooperation across borders have improved in the 15 years since.
She added: “It’s usually when one of these high-profile cases happens when progress is made.
“I’m afraid, this high-profile case: every time it comes in the in the picture, it reminds people of the urgency.”

yeah, aagje leven, aagje means a nosey one, but this one better keeps her words in.
no assistance, a very nice compliment to the people of praia da luz and holidaymakers that did search for a missing child.
the rest of the resistance forces that arrives in praia da luz can do without compliments of course.
and dear aagje, it are not the parents in a missing children case that have a need to attention, but the victim, nice a hotline, but how in the world a nearly 4 years old will find that out?
can we please learn it is about a child, not his or her carers, it is the same mistake in all those busy and nosey official bodies made, all attention to parents, well in this case there was something dodgy from the start, telling you just leave not only the 3 under 4 years old of the mccanns at their own, but next door even a 9 months old in a nasty bout of diarrhea. by telling those parents have a need to attention is bullshit.
daddy lies his heart out in his first statement.
how many attention do you want dear aagje, for such parents, because it sounds as if your agency is never about missing children, but an organisation for parents. how many parents did you find back each year in the last 15, o, they never been missing, no, it is about missing children, and you did not find one back also.
nice that means we could do without your job, just another moneymaker over the back of children.
stop making business models from children. you are not the part of a solution, but part of the problems of children. a nice warm salary and pension, without helping even one child ever. no cent ends up in a child.
https://missingchildreneurope.eu/?wpdmdl=2557
the law never can do it right, you have to make parents suspects immediately, o, no, you can't do that. you have to help them, assist them, in what exactly, becoming a better criminal?
every time we see crawling them out of the woodwork, money eating agencies and helping hands, that have zero influence on children going missing. they could even write themselves up into a runaway case of a 17 years old. have you any idea why children become runaways.... and that just serve them on a plate that is called parents hardly does something substantial. o dear, they helped in a parental abduction, they think, o, you mean it is not always good to assist parents.
well lady, parents are the highest ranked predators to bring actual harm to their own offspring. and the reality will become when a child says help me, you are not the one to help it. and you know it.
you are not law enforcement, of army, stop misusing titles as general and officer. you are just bureaucrats.
assisting parents who are named as suspects, means you choose to assist criminals. the law calls them suspects for a reason, and the law still do not say they are innocent.
you just are moody because you missed out on the big fat opportunity to became a known name. and this was an excellent case, again, over the back of a child, but who cares, to make name for the next agency that does do nothing for a real, living and existing child in need.
these so called experts, they can not even say the name of a child.
“It’s usually when one of these high-profile cases happens when progress is made.
so we see, being a missing child is far better, than the found ones. she must have said more the citation is never ended, must have bee even to stupid for the express, the editor said stop point.
the best progress to be made is that of some missing jobs.

Post of the week ^^^ thank you for taking us back to basics.
Poor little Madeleine McCann was lost in the myths of time - starting on or around 3rd May 2007.
Addendum: I thought Aagje leven to be a product of the Great British Bake-Off!

Re: Christian Brueckner: To be or not to be
I've not yet seen the latest Madeleine McCann production, said to be the work of former police officer Mark Williams-Thomas, ready and awaiting a release date in the UK. From what I've read, the filming centres around the life and times of Christian Brueckner culminating in his probable involvement in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.
This I find rather worrying. I know he's not a lone wolf, others have followed the same trail - Jon Clarke for example, Discovery+ and more.
I can't understand where Mark Williams-Thomas is coming from.
I was half watching a programme on ITV last evening, 'Yorkshire Ripper the Secret Murders'. As far as I could see, the show was comprehensive - adhering to police records. I was reminded that Mark Williams-Thomas produced a grande exposé on the subject of Peter Sutcliffe, as he also claimed to be the one person who eventually exposed Jimmy Savile for past crimes. Later proven to be a falshood.
Is this postive commitment in pursuance of truth and justice or is it purely a money making venture and/or career advancement? If the former well done - if the latter .... shame on you!!!
As an aside, during last nights ITV show quite a lot of archive footage was shown, photographs and videoed interviews with bereaved family members of the murder victims - always emphasis on female relatives like mothers.

Re: Christian Brueckner: To be or not to be
A Silent February.
Some time ago, and upthread, Silentscope observed that since Brückner had issued some form of legal process against SAT1 and the journalist involved, everything had gone quiet.
We are now out of February and nothing has changed.
This is from https://www.newsnow.co.uk/h/?search=Madeleine+McCann&lang=a
Apart from one churned article in New Zealand, which is cut off from the rest of the world by their politicians, there has been nothing.
The machine seems to have ground to a halt.
We are waiting for the ECHR to deliver their decision on whether The President of Portugal and the Assembly of Portugal should unite to re-draw their Constitution because the McCanns don't like it.
And we are waiting for any response to the action taken by Brückner.
We are waiting for Wolters to come out with something new, or even just a repeat of something old.
But even Kandohla and Clarke seem to have gone quiet. In public anyway. No recent sightings. No stories of children murdered by their parents acting to "Buoy" them up.
Are they re-grouping for the final Putsch; the final assault; the BlitzKrieg to wipe away all the opposition?
Are they ready to unleash their deadly weapon, and to provide the killer piece of evidence that Madeleine WAS abducted ?
Are they ready to explain in detail how it happened ?
Are they going to decide on ONE definitive "Version of the Truth" and declare all the others to be null and void ?
If so, we would all welcome it.
But I fear we may be in for a lean March as well.

Strange that Brückner can object to someone saying he let his Dogs alone in the Kiosk, and left them to die of thirst there.
But no objection to anything else?

Brückner’s Nachmieter (the Person who Rented the Flat behind the Kiosk after he left), Norbert M was the first to mention this Story about the Dogs being left to die in there after Brückner ran away to Portugal.
This was put out in a Spiegel TV report over a year ago. Brückner could have sued him already.
If as Brückner says, Jutta Rabe and her Team were advised in advance that this Story was wrong, but decided to include it in the SAT1 production anyway, it can only be to work against his interests. Nothing to do with balanced Reporting of the known facts.
It is probably because Brückner has some form of Proof (Veterinary bills, or Death certification) that he can prove definitively that this is demonstrably untrue. That is why he can lay Charges in this case.
He is still in Jail however for a Rape, for which (according to the Medical report from Amaral) there is no Evidence of.

Madeleine McCann dead claim ‘raises more and more questions’ for Kate and Gerry
THE CLAIM by German prosecutors that Madeleine McCann is dead "raises more and more questions" for her parents Kate and Gerry, as the Metropolitan Police hold out on the missing girl.
By Aleks Phillips
09:00, Sat, Mar 5, 2022
Madeleine disappeared when she was three years old, while her family were on holiday in Portugal in 2007. Prosecutors in Braunschweig said in June 2020 they believed that their prime suspect, convicted rapist and child sexual abuser Christian B, to have killed Madeleine.
Christian B has always denied all allegations in relation to the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.
Meanwhile, the Met Police have previously said that Operation Grange, their active investigation into the disappearance, remains a missing person inquiry as there is no “definitive evidence whether Madeleine is alive or dead”.
These conflicting approaches do little to help Kate and Gerry come to closure on the matter, Charlie Hedges, a missing person specialist at Amber Alert Europe, said.
He told Express.co.uk: “It just raises more and more questions, raises hopes in their minds that things are going to be resolved – and only to be dashed once again.
“I’m sure that’s happened to them many, many times over the years.”
Mr Hedges said that though there were still active investigations looking for answers, nearly fifteen years since she went missing, the McCanns are “realistic enough to know that the chances of being able to successfully conclude this gets smaller as time goes forward.”
He added that he hoped that “for their sake it can be resolved, because they’re suffering this horrendous grief of not being able to have any closure on what happened to Madeleine – this ambiguous loss.
“If someone’s dead, you actually know what's happened and can get on with your life in these circumstances.
“[At the moment] it’s open ended and you can’t close it down and move on. You just don’t know.”
Aagje Ieven, secretary general of Missing Children Europe, stressed “how important that is, for parents to be able to close such cases”.
She explained the issue of “complex grief” among parents of missing children, a state in which “you need to find some way to live with the fact that your child is not there anymore, but not being able to put it in context.”
Ms Ieven said that this was “something that’s really challenging for families”.

As a missing persons specialist and thus spokesperson for Amber Alert Europe, this gentleman should acquaint himself with the case detail before electing to speak on any individual missing person.
Smacks more of a public relations exercise to me.

It's a toss-up to me whether the tabloid press is feeding the websleuths forum, or the websleuth forum is feeding the tabloid press.
Whatever, the danger appears to be a general underlying dislike of Gonçalo Amaral and an apparent urgent need to keep Breuckner in focus as the villain wot done it!
As always - total disregard for the absence of any evidence to suggest abduction!
Jon Clarke follows the route as does Mark William-Thomas, he of firing double barrels. I sense a campaign.
Gerry McCann's long term agenda springs to mind.

Possibly because the ‘Abductors’ realised that they were now in charge of easily identifiable goods which were too hot to handle.
Thanks to the Parents going against Police advice and Publicising the event around the world.
Still, it was a good Marketing ploy…?

Madeleine McCann disappearance ‘could have been burglary that went wrong’ – new theory
THE ASSUMPTION that Madeleine McCann was taken "to control or abuse her" may be a likely narrative. But other theories concerning her disappearance could be just as possible.

Madeleine went missing when she was three years old, while her family were on holiday in the Algarve in 2007. Convicted rapist and child sexual abuser Christian B was identified as the prime suspect in Madeleine's disappearance by investigators in Braunschweig in June 2020.
‘Clinching evidence’ still needed in Maddie case after new revelations
Maddie dead claim ‘raises more and more questions’ for Kate and Gerry
They claim he is responsible for the killing of Maddie. Christian B has always denied all allegations in relation to the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.
Recent disclosures reported by German outlets suggest there were stashes of child pornography at various addresses belonging to Christian B.
It follows claims by German outlet RTL that it had acquired secret chat logs of Christian B’s conversations on the dark web.
In one message, it claimed he suggested he wanted to “capture something small and use it for days”.
Missed opportunity in Maddie case as prime suspect initially dismissed
In a recent documentary about Christian B by German TV channel Sat.1, former acquaintances of Christian B claimed they found memory devices containing images of child sexual abuse when visiting his addresses.
RTL claimed that Christian B told his chat partner that he would make a lot of films if he were to capture a “little one”.
These recent revelations could go some way to explain why Christian B has been deemed the prime suspect in Madeleine’s disappearance by German investigators.
However, when asked about other possibilities, Charlie Hedges, a former member of the UK police who previously was head of the Child Exploitation and Online Protection unit at the National Crime Agency, told Express.co.uk that Madeleine’s disappearance “could have been a burglary that went wrong”.
Christian B was known to have repeatedly burgled in the Algarve. Mr Hedges said: “It could be just [that] it was a burglary.
“It could be not for a sexual abuse motive; it could have been something else that then escalated because of circumstances.
“It’s all speculation, because they just don’t know and we don’t have enough information, but it could be a lot of reasons. And sometimes cases, take on a different complexion, because of things you just don't know. Bizarre things happen.”

A function which seems lacking these days, and not only in policemen. MPs are similarly affected.

The burglary gone wrong theory is nothing new, Mark Rowley, Metropolitan police assistant commissioner said the same thing in 2017.

Re: Christian Brueckner: To be or not to be
A "Burglary gone wrong" is when the burglar gets caught or breaks his ankle jumping out of the window.
Not when he can't find the wallet with the Travellers' cheques and steals a 'bundle' only to discover some time later it is a child.
It is one of the more ludicrous [McCann] suggestions to have come out of this whole farce.

Madeleine McCann suspect Christian Brueckner moans that inmates have threatened to kill him and he is in constant fear of attack as he serves sentence for raping pensioner
Christian Brueckner, the chief suspect in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, is currently jailed in Germany for rape of an American pensioner
He has written to wardens complaining of conditions and asking to transfer.
Brueckner said other inmates are threatening him and he can't leave his cell
Also complained about having to buy his own pens and lack of coffee creamer

The prime suspect in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann has complained that inmates in the jail where he is currently serving time are threatening to kill him.
Christian Brueckner, who is behind bars in Germany for the rape of a 72-year-old American tourist, also moaned about having to buy his own pens from the prison shop and a lack of coffee creamer.
The 44-year-old - who has not been charged over Madeleine's 2007 disappearance but has been identified by police as their suspect - made the complaints in a 14-page missive penned from a 8ft by 10ft cell at Oldenburg prison, near the city of Bremen.
German newspaper Bild obtained a copy of the letter and says Brueckner wrote that other inmates have learned who he is because of a documentary detailing his links to Madeleine's disappearance.
Since then he has been subjected to verbal abuse and death threats, the letter says, including one man who walked up to him in a yard and threatened to murder him.
'I am forcing myself to isolate myself because there is a high probability of a physical attack by fellow prisoners,' he said. 'It's torture.'
Brueckner claims to only leave his cell for one hour every day for fear of being killed, and to avoid certain areas of the prison where prisoners could easily fashion weapons to attack him.
He also complained that prison guards confiscated a set of pens he was sent because they were a 'safety hazard', forcing him to buy his own from the shop.
And he is also said to have complained about a lack of coffee creamer.
The letter emerged just days after police sources said Operation Grange - the British inquiry into Madeleine's disappearance - will be wrapped up later this year if no new lines of inquiry emerge before then.
Detectives are said to be frustrated by the failure to compile sufficient evidence to prosecute Brueckner despite publishing his name in the hopes of drawing out witnesses or others with information on him.
He denied any involvement in the disappearance of the youngster from an apartment in Praia da Luz on the Algarve.
Operation Grange, overseen by the Metropolitan Police, is estimated to have cost £13 million.
The Sun said it was understood that Madeleine's parents, Gerry and Kate, both 54, are aware of the impending closure but have vowed to continue their search.
Brueckner is serving a seven-year jail sentence in Germany for raping a 72-year-old American tourist at the same resort where Madeleine disappeared - two years before she vanished.
The Operation Grange team has in recent years been pared down from 40 officers to just four detectives working under Detective Chief Inspector Mark Cranwell.
His team also liaises with Madeleine's parents, of Rothley, Leicsestershire.
In June 2020, police in Britain and Germany launched a renewed appeal for witnesses after disclosing they had a new suspect, who was later revealed to be Brueckner.
German prosecutors remain convinced he was responsible for the youngster's disappearance but despite an intensive investigation have not brought any charges.
Brueckner also is alleged to have admitted abducting Madeleine to a friend - and the German team of investigators, led by public prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters, said they were certain he had killed the three-year-old.
It is now highly unlikely that he will be charged over her disappearance.
Wolters went as far as holding a press conference where he addressed Madeleine's parents Kate and Gerry over the air.
He insisted: 'We are confident we have the man who took and killed your daughter. All I can do is ask for your patience.'
But claims German detectives had sent multiple notes to Madeleine's family were rubbished within days.
And the Met itself released a pointed statement correcting the allegations about the correspondence.
It said last year: 'The Met received one letter from the BKA [Federal Criminal Police Office of Germany] on June 12, which was passed to the family.
'The letter did not state that there was evidence or proof that Madeleine is dead, the MPS continues to investigate Madeleine's disappearance as a missing person investigation. No letter has been received by the Met from the German prosecutor.'
In fact in May last year, Kate and Gerry restated they still believed she could be alive.
A statement that month said: 'The Covid pandemic has made this year even more difficult for many reasons but thankfully the investigation to find Madeleine and her abductor has continued.

Pardon me for being pernickety but I thought Christian 'Germanman' Brueckner was being detained in solitary.
What do they do taunt him through the bars - threaten him with words ?
Just when I thought we'd seen the back of Brueckner.
Hey-ho!
