Does anyone have the paper copy to confirm? Seems daft to have a pic but not release it ! Maybe waiting for the labour leadership news to die down a bit !
Ah we must be in for a press conference then
Another photofit and another suspect. Anyone any ideas how many this makes now.

There seems to be the same sense of urgency with this to find Madeleine as there was on the night of 3rd May 2007. Still it keeps those two looking busy to substantiate their salaries.

sorry and all that...we can't give more details... for operational reasons
Yes, we either have 14 or 15 to date, two of whom were women.candyfloss wrote:candyfloss wrote:macy wrote:Apparently the paper version of the Express has an additional line at the end: Former police detectives David Edgar and Arthur Cowley have made repeated visits to Portugal and have a new photo fit of a suspect which has not yet been released to the public.

So this would make the 15th or 16th.
So, yes, another press conference and media circus; usually Clarence Mitchell arranges an exclusive feature in a chosen Sunday paper, then releases titbits to two or three newspapers the following day for juicy front-page follow-ups.
The suspect is likely to...well, look a bit 'suspect', probably scruffy, at least a bit foreign-looking, and to have been seen acting suspiciously/furtively/strangely - perhaps by someone who has been agonisingly agonising about whether to contact the McCanns' detectives...or perhaps he went to the Portuguese Police and, well, they just weren't interested.
So, stand aside...
* bundleman
* monster man
* egg man
* Victoria Beckham-lookalike
* George Harrison man
* Cooperman
AND REMEMBER FOLKS - it's only someone we want to eliminate from our enquiries...and we can't give more details for operational reasons.

The print edition of the Sunday Express concluded with the following paragraphs:
'The McCanns met Home Secretary Theresa May over the summer to ask for a review of all the evidence in the case by a hand-picked team of Scotland Yard officers.
Former police detectives David Edgar and Arthur Cowley have made repeated visits to Portugal and have a new photo fit of a suspect which has not yet been released to the public.'
This information was previously reported by James Murray, in his article, 'New image of Maddie McCann abductor', published in the Sunday Express of 30 May 2010.
In August, I contacted the official Find Madeleine campaign team and was informed that they were not aware of any immediate plans to release the image to the media.

Err, what is the point of going to the trouble of having a photofit of a suspect, if it isn't publicised?

By not releasing the photofit they are hampering the search for their daughter.
Someone should sue them for that.

Re: MADELEINE’S FUND LOSES KEY MCCANN
Just looking at FindMadeleine site, no update on the book ban being overturned, and they still state 9 directors and list only 7!!
What happened to the 2 new directors that were appointed, where are their names?
[quote snipped]
New board members, as yet unnamed, have been appointed to the fund, which stands at £450,000 and relies on public donations to pay private investigators to carry on the search.

If new members of the board have already been appointed, why have their names be withheld from the public?

Good question, if the FMF is funded by the public, they surely have the right to know who ALL the directors are. I have just looked at companies house and can't find The Find Madeleine Fund listed? Is it under something else??
ETA just found it under MADELEINE'S FUND: LEAVING NO STONE UNTURNED LIMITED
