Totally agree with this. Kate does protest a little too much about it being their first meeting, in her book, thinking it was a hoax. Lol, when Kate protests too much she's hiding something.

She may or may not have known him personally, but she certainly knew personal friends of his and maybe Gerry and Payne knew him personally.

How about another 'celebrity', Ray Wyre, the claimed and trusted expert on sex offending, but, as has now been revealed, a major pervert in his own right? He and his wife had the McCanns over for dinner (see report in The People, below).

On 10 May 2007, less than one week after the reported disappearance of Madeleine, a major article by Wyre appeared in the Daily Telegraph. This was amazingly quick, and must have been commissioned and written very soon after 3 May.

In it, he asserted, without a shred of evidence, that Madeleine had been abducted by a paedophile.

We now know of course that Ray Wyre's name was on the Elm House Guest List, along with Cliff Richard and an unholy assortment of politicians and celebs.

I wrote a 30-page article on 'Ray Wyre and the McCanns' but I can't reproduce it, as part of it is effectively banned by a court order against me.

Kate and Gerry played NO part in the disappearance of their daughter Madeleine, one of the world's top crime experts declared last night.

Ray Wyre - who has given Cracker-style testimony to courts since the 1970s - said: “It is absolutely IMPOSSIBLE for them to have been involved”. He insisted the grief-stricken parents were incapable of doing anything to harm their children.

He told how the couple feared Maddie was dead in the hours after she vanished - the first time their initial anguish has been revealed. And he heaped scorn on claims the McCanns are being torn apart by the tragedy, adding: “They are a close and loving couple”.

Wyre spoke out as it was revealed Portuguese cops now believe four-year-old Maddie may have been abducted - as Kate and Gerry have always claimed.

The couple met Wyre, 56, to discuss setting up an international taskforce to help cops trace missing children.

They poured out their hearts to him and his wife Charmaine over dinner at the ace criminologists's home in Milton Keynes, Bucks.

Wyre - who's helped nail a string of monsters including child-killer Robert Black - said: "I was with them for several hours and I could not help but apply some of the practices I use when I'm carrying out assessments of suspects for police and the courts.

“I can state categorically there is no way they were involved in their daughter's murder or disappearance. They would be incapable of such an act. I have more than 30 years' experience in this field and am used to people trying to hide dark secrets.

“There was NO sign of any such deceit. It is absolutely impossible for them to have been involved”.

And Wyre paid a moving tribute to the way the 39-year-old couple manage to think of other people even though their hearts are broken.

He said: “It was humbling and moving to meet the McCanns. They brought flowers for my wife, which brought tears to our eyes. You consider what they've been through and they still bring flowers when they come to your home”.

Wyre hit out at shocking claims of eating disorders and marriage rifts made about Kate and heart specialist Gerry, whose twins Sean and Amelie have just turned three.

He said: “It can't have helped while they've had this massive tragedy on their hands. Days before we met I was reading an ill-informed article saying they were growing apart. But they are a close and loving couple who are certainly united in their roles of being good parents to the twins and maintaining momentum in their quest to find Madeleine.

“There is no doubt they are a couple - they are together and they support and comfort one another. They were very warm and friendly to each other and there was no sign of dispute between them. During the meal, Gerry often put his arm round the back of Kate's chair. They were affectionate to one another all the time. They looked very much together. As for any suggestion Kate might have an eating disorder, it's nonsense. She sat down to my wife's home-made lasagne and garlic bread with a smile and really enjoyed it. And she tucked into the banoffee pie for pudding like the rest of us”.

Wyre told how for 72 hours after Maddie vanished in Praia da Luz on May 3 last year the McCanns were certain their daughter was dead.

Their despair has never been made public before - and Wyre blasted critics who insist they have not expressed enough grief.

He said: “For three days, all they could see in their minds was Madeleine lying dead. They were in complete agreement she'd been taken by a predator, abused and killed.

“They were certain they would never see her alive again. The image of her lying murdered hardly left them and they expected at any time to receive the news that her body had been found. When three days passed and that had not happened, they began to feel the stirring of hope.

“They reasoned it was most likely that if someone had seized her to abuse and kill her, her body would probably have been nearby and would have been found. They continue to cling to that hope - but they are also prepared for the worst. However, as long as she remains missing I know they will not rest in their efforts to find her”.
Wyre also told The People how GP Kate is so dedicated to answering the flood of emails she gets every day about Maddie she sometimes gets up at 4am to deal with them all.

His tribute came as detectives in Portugal finally admitted they could be WRONG in their belief that the McCanns - from Rothley, Leics - were involved in Maddie's disappearance. Prosecutors had named the couple as official suspects in September.

And since then police have been hellbent on trying to prove Kate and Gerry had hidden their daughter's body after the youngster died in their Algarve holiday apartment.

Investigators even claimed they had enough evidence to charge the couple just three weeks ago. But yesterday police sources admitted the McCanns may have been telling the truth all along. And detectives are now set to review the case and quiz all the witnesses again.

The amazing about-turn comes after a British laboratory said DNA tests carried out on blood samples found in the Praia da Luz flat and the couple's hire-car had been inconclusive.

The theory Maddie had been kidnapped was also given another boost last week with the release of a sketch of a possible suspect. A source told Portuguese newspaper 24 Horas: “There are now two hypotheses on the table - abduction or accidental death. There are no concrete proofs to charge the current suspects. No line of inquiry can be discounted - but the first hypothesis is the most credible”.

The McCanns' family spokesman Clarence Mitchell told The People last night: “We welcome any movement on the part of the police that accepts Madeleine was abducted - because that's what happened.

“It’s ridiculous we've had to wait this long for any indication they believe Kate and Gerry are telling the truth.

“The sooner the police realise they don't have a case against them, the sooner they focus on finding Madeleine - which is what this investigation should be about”.

As for Wyre, he is very focused on the McCanns being such a lovely happy couple.

Freud has been accused of abusing young girls between the 1940s and 1970s. The allegations have been made by two women, Sylvia Woosley and an anonymous woman, who claim he abused them as children. The second woman says he raped her when she was 18.

The Independent can now reveal that, after helping expose Freud’s paedophilia, the former British ambassador Craig Murray has been contacted by people making further claims of abuse by Freud.

Mr Murray, who says there must now be serious questions asked over whether senior political figures knew of his behaiour, said: “I have had all kinds of people contacting me, telling me that they knew about this behaviour – not victims, but people who were told about it, people who knew victims.

“I have been contacted by seven people this morning. I don’t have concrete intelligence, but it seems there are a lot of claims that there is more stuff out there.”

“The same as with Jimmy Savile,” he added, “This stuff comes pouring out once the gates are opened.”

Mr Murray revealed that after he posted a favourable obituary of Freud on his blog following the broadcaster's death in 2009, an anonymous comment was left underneath the article by a woman saying Freud had abused her.

The comment reads: “Writing as one of his 1000s of sexual ‘victims’, still surviving, terrified as I write for fear he is not yet quite yet dead – the man was an evil, conniving, ruthless user for his own bottomless ego of all he came into contact with.

“Our children – boys and girls are all that much safer for his demise.
“And that is just the tip of an iceberg of political and media dirty dealings that reaches into the heart of the broken Britain he has left behind him.
“His family will now, unfortunately, reap the rage and revenge of those he destroyed and their much needed justice for his many heinous – still untold – actions.”

After being contacted by ITV in 2015, Mr Murray contacted the woman and helped put her in touch with the makers of the documentary, in which she claims that Freud, whom she met in 1971, groomed her from the age of 11, abused her at 14, and violently raped her at 18.

Her testimony added to that of Ms Woosley, who said that Freud began sexually touching her in 1952, when she was 14.

On Tuesday night, Mr Murray published another blog entry, entitled [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]', which he says has prompted people to contact him with further claims of abuse.

Mr Murray’s remarks will add to anxieties that there were long-held suspicions about Freud’s activities that were not acted upon.

Peter Saunders, chief executive of the National Association for People Abused in Childhood, told the Daily Mail that Freud had ‘been on the radar’ of the charity.
Mr Saunders said: ‘About 12 years ago, before his death, something was said to me about an allegation of rape concerning him. At the time, I never thought it would go anywhere because he was rich and powerful. Later I spoke to a friend at Rape Crisis, and she said his name had come up in her world too, a long time ago, but she couldn’t remember the details.’

Mr Murray, 57, also revealed that he had his own first-hand experience of Freud’s predatory behaviour towards much younger, but adult women, dating from when he was a first-year student at Dundee University and Freud was rector there.

Mr Murray said he saw the president of the students association emerge “yelling and swearing” after a phone call from Freud.
“He was saying that Freud had phoned him and asked him to line up female students for him and was trying to use him as ‘a pimp’.”

At the time, Freud was about 35 years older than the students.
Mr Murray, who later became rector of Dundee University himself, said friends from his student days had also heard about Freud’s behaviour towards younger women.

“At my last birthday [in October] they told similar anecdotes, about sexually predatory behaviour towards young students, and towards students coming to him, as rector, with problems. It wasn’t illegal, but it wasn’t pleasant.”

Mr Murray added that his 2009 online obituary of Freud had also received the comment of one reader claiming: “He was a notorious old goat and his pursuit of young women could verge on the sinister. I met one of his young ‘victims’ who told me about a job interview with him turning into a very traumatic experience.”

Mr Murray said that senior Liberals who were in charge when Freud was an MP between 1973 and 1987 must have known at least about Freud’s “aggressive sexual approaches” to much younger adult women, and they should have expelled him from the party.

He said: “It seems to me unlikely that the senior party had no inkling. If he was aggressively approaching people at job interviews, then it must have got back to the party leadership. It was continual behaviour. It can’t just have not been noticeable at all.

“He certainly shouldn’t have been in politics. There has to be very serious questions about what people knew.”

At the time of Freud’s death, one former MP, who knew nothing about Freud’s alleged sexually aggressive behaviour towards younger women or about his alleged paedophilia, did refer to his “famed reputation as a womaniser.”

But most obituaries made only oblique reference to Freud’s womanising.
Mr Murray said that he had “no inkling” of any paedophilia allegations when he wrote his obituary of Freud in 2009, and admitted he didn’t want to reveal what he had heard about Freud’s behaviour to much younger women.

“You just don’t feel like digging it up once someone has died,” he said.
He added: “I am glad the woman did make those comments on my blog. At the time she came forward the ITV researcher had only one person talking about this, and you can’t stand up a story with just one source.

“If it wasn’t for that comment appearing on my blog, I don’t think this ever would have come to light.”

I have a confession to make. Back in 2014 I posted that I was going to write something further on the subject of the McCanns. In the end I did not, because I was surprised by the strong emotional reaction I received, from a number of decent people, who were enraged that I might be prepared to write something not to the McCanns’ advantage. But I regret being so pusillanimous, particularly as so much discussion has been suppressed by the extremely aggressive stance taken on threats of libel action on this story.

So in the full knowledge that some decent people will be outraged, here it is.

This week there have been two more developments. The Home Office has announced that it will fund still further the police investigation into Madeleine’s disappearance, on which £10 million has already been spent. Plus the appeals court in Lisbon has [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] the libel verdict against the Portuguese detective Goncalo Amaral, who led the case and formed his own firm convictions at to what happened. The 500,000 euro libel award to the McCanns is now cancelled.

None of these sums of money would matter in the least, and practically nobody would grudge any expense, to have Madeleine McCann alive, safe and happy. There can be nothing worse for a parent than the loss of a child, whatever the circumstances. If the McCanns genuinely do not know what happened, that must be agonising beyond belief. My grandparents had a nineteen year old son, an uncle I never knew, missing in action in World War 2 and the pain never left them, even when his fate was resolved.

And yet, and yet… It is because our children are so precious to us that we treat them as such. I recall an incident on Jamie’s first birthday, which we spent in a hotel in Italy. I was in the room with Jamie. My then wife had gone out to the car. The birthday cake was delivered to reception and had to be paid for. Jamie was fast asleep. I dashed out of the hotel room, down two flights of steps to reception, literally threw the money at them and ran back up the stairs. I was away under two minutes but have never experienced such adrenalin, nor would wish to again. An overwhelming instinct had kicked in telling me I had done wrong in leaving the baby unattended, even so briefly.

I find the McCanns’ behaviour indefensible. There appears to be a disconnect in the public mind in the UK which prevents people from realising just how far the McCanns were from their children. This is a useful graphic just to see the layout, (do not worry about the other info on it)...

Many were rather suspicious about his sudden intervention.

But from what you have posted, it is looking more and more as though he may know something very significant about the reported disappearance of Madeleine McCann.

One further small point. The linking of Clement Freud to the McCanns began not with a tabloid but with the fusty, dusty Daily Telegraph. One of their two reporters in the news story about Freud was much-respected Gordon Rayner, who recently published (again in the Telegraph) about as factual an article as you could ever get in the mainstream press about Madeleine McCann. Admittedly, he inadvertently also copied and pasted some inaccurate rubbish, but there was a distinct sceptical tone to his article. Possibly Gordon Rayner and his colleagues at the Telegraph may be looking for opportunities to say a bit more some time soon

It has always been my belief that the rotten core of what happened to Madeleine is paedophilia. After all these years I still haven't seen anything to change my belief.

1. In the 'Last Photo'

2. In the 'Make-Up Photo' and

3. In one of the other strange photos released along with the Make-Up photo.

The Make-Up Photo seemed to be taken against a yellow/ochre background and with a bright blue plastic chair in the background.

It has been suggested that the latter two photos could have been taken in Praia da Luz, maybe at the Sol e Mar apartments where Wojchiech Krokowski was staying

Matthew Freud has cancelled his annual summer party, which was due to be held tonight, following his father Sir Clement's exposure as a paedophile.

"He was a private man, not the type to suddenly befriend a couple who had intense media attention. It really jarred with me, left me feeling very uneasy."
