No, a conspiracy theory too far methinks. A high profile seasoned predator wouldn't be quite so careless as to use his domicile for a photo-shoot if it could be so easily recognized.

It has always been my belief that the rotten core of what happened to Madeleine is paedophilia. After all these years I still haven't seen anything to change my belief.

The report appears to have encouraged quite a few previously latent forum members to air their views. If nothing else this Freud revelation has inspired courage to speak out on the most obvious issue.

I will just add - this has beggar all to do with Operation Grange and their shenanigans so there's little point in referring it to them. Crimes committed by Freud and his circle of 'chums' would be incorporated in a nationwide and/or international child abuse investigation - where they all belong. Are the perpetrators of Madeleine McCann's disappearance under surveillance in a national/international paedophile investigation? In my opinion absolutely not - if they were their profile would be low key and the government wouldn't have thrown 12+ million quid down the proverbial in the name of Operation Grange.

Where will all this lead I ask myself - nowhere I answer. Another flash in the pan - another reason the plug the name McCann the victims.

Just had a thought. Clement Freud died of a massive heart attack. According to his daughter, in 2009 he was told he needed a triple heart bypass operation.

The Judiciary Police (PJ) monitored the movements of about a dozen foreign paedophiles in the Algarve, after Madeleine McCann disappearance in 2007, but never investigated the former Member of the Parliament Clement Freud, accused of paedophilia in the UK and who used to vacation in Praia da Luz, in Lagos.

The English police, during the investigation to the Maddie case, sent the Portuguese authorities a list of British subjects referenced for paedophile acts, who also had connections to the Algarve. This list was also part of the process (investigation process) to the disappearance of the English child, but, CM was able to establish the English authorities demanded the list to be confidential. In addition to the British paedophiles, police investigators have also monitored, in the recent years, the movements of German and Dutch nationals.

The former MP and broadcaster Clement Freud, who died in 2009, at 84 years old, was born in Germany but had British nationality. This week, two women denounced through the British media, that they had been abused by the politician when they were minors.

Freud had a holiday home in Praia da Luz, about 600 meters away from the apartment where Maddie disappeared, at the Ocean Club. The son, Matthew Freud, guaranteed that the father was in the UK on the night of the disappearance, May 3, 2007. Still, in July of that year, the mediatic politician invited the parents of the English child for a dinner at his home and the couple accepted.

A neighbour confided to CM that Freud's house was "very busy" during the holidays and that the family did not interact with the rest of the neighbourhood. About the presence of the McCanns in the proximities of the paedophile's house, the same source confirmed that Kate and Gerry were seen "several times at that place".

Let me clarify. I am reading on social media, today, about the possibility of an 83 year old man, going into the apartment, and other strange claims. I don't believe that Freud was ever in the apartment. As it stands, all we have is Freud contacting the McCanns AFTER the fact. Did they know him BEFORE Madeleine went missing? To date, there have been nothing to suggest that they did know each other.

Having said that, I am having great difficulty believing that the McCanns are that naïve, that they constantly, unknowingly, surround themselves with such shady people.

I'm inclined to agree sally. The Mc's saw it as a headline opportunity that would hopefully give them some much needed credibility.

I am cautiously optimistic that this latest revelation will crack this case, and we will begin to understand why two unknowns and their friends were given so much protection.

As for Kate say, in her book, that Freud phoned her out of the blue, and invited her and Gerry to dinner, it just doesn't hold water, in my opinion. I have been on this forum, and the two previous ones, to know that Kate McCann doesn't say ANYTHING, other than to distort the truth.

I live in hope!
