Absolutely fantastic - the first "small step" for the truth about Madeleine. Lets hope the "giant step" follows very soon. Nice to have positive news for a change.

Excellent - look forward to the full details.

The Portuguese Court of Appeal ruled emphatically in his favour well over 5 years ago - October 2010 - followed by a Supreme Court ruling in March 2011 which endorsed 100% the Appeal Court's verdict.

So why has it taken another 5 years to get back to virtually the same place again?

Will the McCanns risk another appeal to the Supreme Court?

I look forward to the banner headlines in the tabloids tomorrow 'SUCCESS FOR PORTUGUESE TEC IN MADDIE CASE' - and hopefully no more, er, lies about Goncalo's alleged 'lies'. yes

Is this why there was blanket coverage in today's British mainstream press headlining Operation Grange's claim that 'we have reasonable grounds for thinking that Madeleine may still be alive?

There's £750k in the Find Madeleine fund for the search that hasn't been spent on the search as OG is doing the search.

I'm all out of typing the word 'search'.

If this story about the successful appeal turns out to be true (let's keep EVERYTHING crossed that it is), I would reply with:

1. Yes - they will appeal to the Supreme Court because they have the cash to do it, and Gerry will never admit defeat. Narcissists never do. Plus it will delay by months any cash payments they have to make.

2. Yes - it looks like the MET were tipped off in advance to permit them to plant these stories as part of the official UK 'whitewash' line - indeed to strengthen it with the headline "she may still be alive" (rather than the traditional - "we don't know what happened but it defo wasn't the McCanns")

This further suggests that the McCanns still have allies in Portugal - the original judgement suggested as much - and it may just be that the Appeal Court and Supreme Court are outside their influence. Let's hope so! This is potentially a huge judgement.

I agree, but not with the "counter-appeal" if that is what it is called... I do not now think that the McCanns have it in them to do so, or that it would be allowed. Otherwise this "vicious circle" will just be another merry-go-round like the search for their "missing" daughter. It can not go on forever!

My thoughts exactly. They needed the words "MADDIE DETECTIVE" on the headlines today, to divert from the real "MADDIE DETECTIVE". Another example of Mainstream Media attempting to bury the truth.

Yes that old onion's got them chasing phantoms, and crying with embarrassment.

It's no coincidence that right at this time, Britain's very own Detective Chief Superintendent Mick Duthie pops out of the rotted woodwork to remind us (yet again) that Operation Grange are still looking for the stranger, and an alive Maddie. It's like clockwork their timing!

None of them expected Dr Amaral, after such a brutal and sustained onslaught, to not only still be standing, but repeating that the evidence points tragically to Madeleine's death in Apartment 5A, and the parents hiding her body.

The beleaguered Operation Grange are desperately trying to have the last word here!

Scotland Yard have also just announced that there is no reason to believe Piltdown Man is dead as they believe he was obducted by a paedophile gang. They are asking their media PR expert Carrie M to take a world tour to ask if anyone has seen Piltdown Man pictured above. Clarence has probably also pointed out to Gerry that by getting the MET to say what they did, it also sets them up nicely for a major appeal to the British Public. Something along the lines of:

The dreadful Amaral and corrupt Portuguese system have taken all your money "for the search". Poor Maddie (who the MET just said was still alive) will now never be found. So please, please donate NOW so that we may resume the search...

Some suckers may chip in, but the overwhelming majority either don't care enough or simply don't believe the McCanns any more. If 5 years x 29 MET officers cannot find an abductor... then most people will correctly conclude that there wasn't one. Which is what the PJ realised after 6 months and from talking directly to the McCanns and their party.

The waste of UK time and money has been simply extraordinary - and hopefully this marks the end of it.
