Thanks Candyfloss. So unlikely this visit was spur of the moment, probably all arranged some time back. It's not clear but it looks as though KMcC might not be there for the actual anniversary. What's so important about this anniversary for KMcC to visit as it's by no means a regular thing plus a return appearance by HH? Surely the new chaplain (or whoever is standing in at the moment if the vacancy hasn't been filled) could have competently led the service. HH seems determined to perpetuate his association and that of his former church with this case.

I recall Kate's words of some time ago about her tie to Portugal.....the last place where she held Madeleine. An ambiguous statement and the interpretation I have given to those words is based on the dream sequence in her book, which was I believe a description of a real event, full of anguish and loss. I do not believe the above words are a reference, to be taken at face value, to giving her child a cuddle.

One of these days Kate just might decide it is time to confide in someone about what really happened.
For that though she would imo need to be living apart from her husband.

Not in a million year, that wont happen IMO. She might confide on her death bed as nothing to lose then, not before.
That said, I doubt even on death bed she will, because it would mean ruining the family good name for her children.

As from the 1st July 2012 Haynes Hubbard and presumably the family were posted back to the Ontario diocese - so it's jolly nice of SH if she is minding Kate even now. I understand that Susan Hubbard was in the UK a lot after september 2007 although I have no firm references for that statement.

Thanks for the date Tigger. Only knew it was some while back. SH was indeed known to visit the McCs in the UK fairly frequently after 2007 which was not particularly popular in some quarters. So both back all the way from Ontario, wonder who is footing the bill.

Mrs McCann, accompanied by her mother Susan Healy, lit a candle for Maddie in the little church in Praia da Luz, Algarve where she prayed for her daughter's safe return before being comforted by locals.

Comforted by locals? No picture her in picture or locals surrounding her.
Just picture of her and her mum and this story. Unless the journalist is shadowing kate's every movement 24/7 this story must come from the horse's mouth.

I am fed up hearing about her. We have had this for two weeks now in papers and tv. She is treated like a minor celeb, all this publicity yet again and still no sign of Maddie being found.

To me she is looking like a frail old lady. I think her mother looks about the same age in the photo.

All that training for the marathon imo has contributed to the way she is looking.

Running a home, looking after twins and husband, tv appearances, ambassador for missing people charity, consulting with legal eagles ref. TB and Mr. Amaral, training for the marathon - how many miles per week did that involve? Given the time she did it in I would guess about at least 20/ 30 miles a week?

I just don't care about all that.

If all it takes to get the portugese investigation re-opened is a stamp on an envelope as Mr. A. has stated then why not just do it? Surely that is more important than all the rest of it?
