I have speculated that this case is going to turn out to be a viral marketing campaign for cheese or something. Looks like we are about to find out.

I just saw the "F.I.E.N.D.S." picture in the Twitter feed.

A spoof of FRIENDS with the McCanns alongside Hitler and the Moors Murders.

Jeeze... ammunition for people pointing fingers at "haters".

But maybe that's what it was designed for.

Internet mind games.

On record... I think that picture and others like it are wrong and are not helping - SO STOP!

(Unless you are part of the media monitoring unit in which case you won't).

I joined up yesterday Nina, it was quite simple to set up but I can't make head nor tail of the actual postings, it all seems to go backwards, sideways, upside down, and it does my head in. I don't even look at the 'trending', but I managed to find some mccann related posts by using the search thingy (clicked on magnifying glass) and putting # in front of it. Don't know if I'm doing it right, but that is my sum knowledge of twitter.

I eagerly await the video on Oct 12th, if it turns out to be a marketing campaign for cheese or anything else, it will be annoying but I'll be closing my twitter soon after the video comes out regardless. Also, it quite freaked me out that I had a 'follower' within hours, someone I do not know, even though I have tweeted nothing! In the short time I've been in the twittersphere I have concluded it is most definitely not for me.

Something that did occur to me was this. What with all this recent talk of so called 'haters' and related stirring up of general bile by the so called pros, could it be a method of getting all the 'haters' together in one place? I await reports of "Look, even now after all these years X amount of people have followed this hateful twitter account in the hope of seeing the Mc's downfall. Why all the hate for these poor innocents? Even after the definitive (haha) book.....?" etc.

It's hard to trust anyone on the internet, especially McCann related. But I hope it is genuine.

The media can use the twiiter account to point at all the anonymous "hate" towards the McCanns.

Anyone can go and look at it.

There is no moderation.

There is nothing to say the tweets are genuine or from media monitoring units.

It's a bit smelly.

I would love to help you - even though I joined a while ago it is still a mystery to me what is actually happening when it happens! I still have no idea whether I am doing it right. I did sign to follow 2&2TV but have since unfollowed as I am not really sure about it. As far as I can make out it's just random thoughts that other people post - I have yet to figure out how to interact with others! :/

Just popped into that 'Stop the myth' site for the first time. It appears to be an entire forum dedicated to insulting those people who are investigating the disappearance of a three year old girl. Quite bizarre. There's no debunking of any myths at all, no research into the case, just nitpicking at the research done by others

I haven't read Kate McCann's book, but I have read that she doesn't mention the dogs in there, either. Can someone enlighten me, please?

Woodbine, they call some tweeters "pros" too, but there's nothing pro McCann about them. All they are, are insulters and disrupters to those who ask valid questions. There are a few "haters" or "antis" on there, too, who leave a lot to be desired, when it comes to insults, but the vast majority are those they call pros, who NEVER answer questions about the inconsistencies etc in the Tapas 9's statements
