I can understand why people feel the body may not have been in the house all week or the police would have found it sooner.

However, it was moved there after the alarm was raised, how could that be done with all the publicity, media outside, neighbours, liaison officers and police coming and going. While there might be times when the road was deserted very hard to be sure that that situation wouldn't change in a moment. The granny has a car which Hazell drove.The police will presumably be forensically examining that.

I'm flummoxed re the right question. It's such a small house. Surely floorboards, attic, garden, bath panel, secret place for drugs, etc, wouldn't be that difficult to find, particularly if a body had lain there for a week?

I've not heard Brunt or the ex-cops even mention her, they must have been told not to for some reason. Strange indeed.

This could have been an accidental death. I don't think we should assume murder.

Given the noses of those German Shepherds, imo they could not have searched where the body was located. The body is reported to have been found at the house, not in it. that means within the perimeter of house and garden....are there any outhouses? What is access like at the rear of the property? The surrounding roads and back alleys have been called rabbit-warrens. We will find out in due course.

We will know more at 8 when MET make a statement. If the body was discovered where I think it might have been, there would have been an accomplice in the concealment imo. No more from me, I am starting to sound like a ghoul. Just want to say I hope Tia was not terrified for a prolonged time. It is the thought of terror and fear which always gets to me in these cases invovling children.

My hunch; another body to be found soon; grandmother involved; drugs involved.
I do hope the police question work colleagues of the grandmother, regarding her state of mind during her shift previous to Tia going missing.
As for those lambasting the police, give it a rest, we are not in full possession of the facts, however I do agree with Tony Bennett, the house should have been treated as a potential crime zone and sealed off immediately.

Ok Peter This is the question I would ask ( sorry if it may have been covered already but with so many pages to trawl through I will ask you while you are on line)

How is it possible to conceal a body for 7 days (bearing in mind the heat we have had ) in a standard looking house and garden without detection from trained officers and dogs ?
and racking my brains aside from the obvious under bed inside wardrobes airing cupboard , loft behind bath panel, pull back carpets for trap doors , behind fire place , inside a chimney , fridge , patios garden earth being moved turn't over, shed, garage I do not see where it could be kept , This leads me to the conclusion it could not of been in any of these places and the body was put back in to the house, which again begs the question, How was a body able to be moved while the spot light was on the house and the person in question or do they not track of person of interests? Is this a wrong or close minded question?

Brunty just on giving sttement from Commander Neil Basu...

He said number of searches had taken place. One original search of the bedroom as would be expected of a mising girl enquiry, and 2 other searches of the house, one on Wednesday with specialist dog. He also said people should not jump to conclusions that body there all week.

no more speculation, just interesting comment from a former detective speaking on Sky now.
About the sensitivity needed towards a family when a child missing, regarding searching the property she was last seen.
You must be sensitive, you want the family on board so they are willing to do anything , to help and to eliminate themselves, if anyone is not on board with that then that will set off alarm bells with a detective and that person will need to be probed further....

Interesting Neil Basu has just been on Sky saying roughly what Martin Brunt had told us mins earlier (just my notes taken down quickly and may not be totally accurate but the jist was............

Clearly there are many questions about Tia's disappearance.

Important we do not focus on one line of enquiry. We had over 60 sightings to follow up and CCTV footage to look at..

At least 3 searches

1st only searched bedroom of Tia as is normal in case of missing person

2nd The WHOLE house searched Sunday morninig

3rd Search Wed lunchtime

Today's Pre-planned search was done with consent of family and their co-operation.

People should not jump to conclusions

The person interviewed on Sky at the moment is saying it is interesting how he said whole house searched on Sunday... and Was he intimating that body not there then perhaps?

If the body had been moved too and fro that would be even worse IMO. For a week there has been media, police and family 24/7 at that house and I can't believe it would be possible.

Stuart Hazell was apparently a painter and decorator......maybe he did a very elaborate hiding job?

I also find it interesting watching the Sky News coverage........being so careful what they say but "allowing" their expert guest's to do the criticising.....

there appears to be a great community spirit in that area, the way they helped with searching and the way as soon as they heard of the discovery they are leaving flowers messages and candles.

There's a lot of anger as well from the neighbours/community who have spent many hours looking for Tia, they feel they've been betrayed and used, hmm sounds familiar.

One person even mentioned that you start looking around at people and realise you don't really know your neighbours that well.

Where is the mother? didn't granny say that she had 'gone away for a bit' because she 'couldn't take it'?

Also unless I missed something here, it's not 100% certain that the body is that of Tia. Did someone else die at the house more recently? Searches suggest there was no body at the house until now. I'm inclined to side with the police here, sorry Daily Mail.

SH is/was running scared. But why, we don't know exactly.

The partner of Tia Sharp's grandmother has been arrested on suspicion of murder, the Metropolitan Police has said.

Police were searching for Stuart Hazell, 37, after a body was discovered at Christine Sharp's house in New Addington, Croydon, earlier.

Tia, 12, went missing from the house last Friday.

Mr Hazell was arrested in Merton, south London, at 20:25 BST after he was identified by a member of the public.

He is in police custody. A murder investigation was launched after police searching for Tia found a body.

They are yet to identify the body but the family has been informed.

Earlier, Met Commander Neil Basu said there had been four searches at the property in the past week, two with sniffer dogs, including a search of the girl's bedroom.

ex detective on sky thinks unlikely body moved then moved back given police and media presence. Police failed if did not discover body if in situ for 7 days says this man.
if body has been in situ and searches failed, I wonder why today was different and what was discovered.

Like PeterMac, I have a theory about all this which I committed to a document three days ago. (PM please PM me if what I have below is similar to your thinking )

Just want to say, seeing the guys with a ladder heading for the house was a big heads up IMO. I believe they found a false wall in the loft OR heaven forbid, reminds me of something from years back where someone had actually encroached into the loft of a neighbour.

He is allegedly a painter/decorator this Hazell chap, so has presumably in his working kit, tape and plastic sheeting? My guess is that some sort of DIY looked a little too fresh. I suspect it was the dogs alerting to a place that didn't look like a place, if that makes any sense.

There were nasty buckets of gunge being looked at in one SKY bulletin.

We may or may not ever know the whole truth here, but I fear there is more than one family member involved in this.
