Last diplomat in Maddie affair has left...
http://tinyurl.com/2agubdh Google translated Fench to English - Last diplomat Maddie case leaves Lisbon 25 Novembro 2010 6:09 p.m. Share this Article Twitter Facebook Delicious Digg Stumble Reddit Author: Duarte Levy Tags: Alexander Ellis Bill Henderson Celia Edwards Foreign Office John Buck Alexander Ellis leaves Lisbon before Christmas Alexander Ellis, British Ambassador in September 2007 had replaced John Buck in office in Lisbon, Portugal, left to become Director of Strategy at the Foreign Office. Ellis, as John Buck, left his post rather than initially expected. Appointed in the wake of the Maddie case, the ambassador intervened on several occasions in the issue, particularly with the Judicial Police (PJ) in Portimão they visit the same day investigators returned from a trip decisive in Enderby . According to information from the Foreign Office, Ambassador Ellis has to leave his post before Christmas, six months earlier than expected. A cursed affair for diplomats Alexander Ellis is not the first British diplomat who touched the case Maddie and who leaves his post early. Before him, at least five other diplomats were suddenly replaced. In June 2008, Celia Edwards, the British Consul who had accompanied the interrogation of Kate and Gerry McCann, announces his resignation. It will be remained in office only a few months. Before her, John Buck, the ambassador, and Bill Henderson, consul, had left office after being intervened "at the highest level" in the investigation to the disappearance of Madeleine McCann. An intervention by sources close to the prosecution and the police "will have conditioned the direction to be followed by investigators. John Buck ended his career September 10, 2007, the day after the sudden departure of the parents of Maddie to the United Kingdom. Kate and Gerry McCann had just been made arguidos. Even today, almost four years after the disappearance of Maddie, all correspondence and documents from John Buck on the case are classified as state secrets. In August 2007, Bill Henderson, the Portimao consul who had hosted meetings between the McCann couple and the investigators of the PJ, resigned from any employment with the Foreign Office and retiring earlier than expected. Before them, Sheree Dodd and Clarence Mitchell - to quote the best known - had already left office, the latter with destiny What knows: he became the head of the media campaign launched globally by the McCanns.

These State Secrets are a serious bone of contention with the powers that be, simply because of some names therein. As well as to whom they were sent and copied to. Dear oh dear oh dear. Tut.

Sky News understands the US ambassador to the UK, Louis Susman, has been seen going into Downing Street and the Foreign Office for what one source called "contingency planning".

Hardened criminals would not back the McCanns & would frown upon their slap dash parenting skills yet the likes of JKRowling, Richard Branson, Gordon Brown all seem to think they are wonderful, whats that tell you about the way our country is heading?
Re: Last diplomat in Maddie affair has left...
How is the leaving of this diplomat tie in with the mccanns?
Sherry Dodd and CM I can understand. Even John Buck I can understand because he resigned, probably didnt like the way mccanns case was handed by the UK govt.
But this Alexander Ellis...how did he come under the mccurse? Is something about to break?

How on earth can a missing child case be classified as STATE SECRET???Smells like a cover up for me.Kate and Gerry seem to be untouchable and did receive and still receive unusual protection. They can do whatever they want and the media in GB is still on their side. What about child pornography? A high-ranking pedo-ring?Certainly very influental people need protection.. Lots of money is involved. Just my thoughts...I hope I am wrong...

It's 'state secret' not so much because of a missing child or circumstances pertaining to her disapperance,
but because otherwise Blair and Gordy would have been shown up as not heeding advice who poked their noses into another country's investigation unjustly and they would be shown up as 'stupid' and 'interfering'. That is enough to hide it under secrecy law for 70 years by the government reckoning.
Politicians are but bunch of self serving crooks.

The Foreign Office was alerted to fears over Gerry and Kate McCann by a British diplomat in Portugal just days after their daughter Madeleine went missing.
The diplomat was sent to the holiday resort of Praia da Luz in the days following the four-year-old's disappearance and soon became concerned over "inconsistencies" in the testimonies by her parents and their friends. After visiting the McCanns, the unnamed diplomat sent a report to the Foreign Office in London, admitting his worries about "confused declarations" of the McCanns' movements on the night of May 3.

Gerry and Kate McCann: 'Lack of co-operation' with the Portuguese police?
He also noted the couple's "lack of co-operation" with the Portuguese police.
The diplomat's concerns were made over four months before Gerry and Kate were named arguidos (suspects) on September 7.
Contents of the letter were leaked to Belgian newspaper La Dernière Heure over the weekend.
The diplomat expressed his fears after receiving instruction from the Foreign Office to provide "all possible assistance to the McCann couple".
The French-language paper printed excerpts of the letter, quoting the diplomat as saying: "With the greatest respect, I would like to make you aware of the risks and implications to our relationship with the Portuguese authorities, if you consider the possible involvement of the couple.
"Please confirm to me, in the light of these concerns, that we want to continue to be closely involved in the case as was requested in your previous message."Although the Government was quick to assist the McCanns in the days following Madeleine's disappearance, direct contact with the couple ceased when they were named as suspects.
La Dernière Heure pointed out that a majority of the diplomats originally involved in the case have now been taken off it.
