The family won a libel suit against him in 2015, and were awarded £500,000 in damages.
That is of course true. But like much else in this case it is not the WHOLE Truth.
Why the Media insist on not filling in the details and leaving it 'hanging' with the clear implication that that was the end of the story is . . how shall we say this diplomatically . . .?
Unclear.
Timothy Evans was found guilty and hanged for the murder of his wife and daughter. That is true.
The Whole Truth is that this was a gross miscarriage of justice, based on inadequate investigation and Perjury, and some years later Christie was also found Guilty and hanged for the murder of the wife.
Any account which does not include the latter statement is therefore simultaneously True and False.
True because is is factually accurate.
False because one further question will demolish its universality.
Thus do the Press, media, and particularly the Gutter versions of both, operate.
