Madeleine McCann cops launch ‘final roll of dice’ bid to prove who killed her
It's a supposed police investigation, not a friggin' casino - why keep using these stupid clichés?
Second thoughts the entire situation is a gamble [ that name again].
The investigation into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann has nothing whatsoever to do with German authorities. If the Portuguese police require assistance with their investigation from another country, they will liaise accordingly. If Germany are investigating a German national for past crimes, all well and good, that's their prerogative but interfering with the case of Madeleine McCann is not their prerogative.
I've said all along this situation is partly an attack against the Portuguese police and the only beneficiaries are London's Metropolitan Police and the true prime suspects - Gerry and Kate McCann, along with their holiday friends.
This is what happens when an incident is allowed to run riot without restraint. To say it gets carried-away is the understatement of the millenniums past and present.

Slightly more balanced from the Inde
https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/madeleine-mccann-suspect-christian-brueckner-germany-probe-closed-new-year-b1342926.html
with two neat quotes.
Portuguese police also reportedly believe the investigation into Brueckner has wasted precious time as they ruled him out as a suspect shortly after the four-year-old girl went missing from a resort in Praia da Luz.
The source added that the lack of new clues came as no surprise to the Portuguese team who worked on the original investigation as they “believed for a long time that the investigation into B is effectively a wild goose chase”.
The investigative team in Portugal believe the focus should “now be on finding the person who actually took Madeleine”, said the source.
Brueckner’s lawyer, Friedrich Fulscher, previously told The Sun he had proof that his client was innocent and that German authorities had the wrong man.
Two weeks ago, he called on prosecutors to “show their cards” and share the “concrete evidence” they have that proves Madeleine is dead. Mr Fulscher claims prosecutors have so far refused to reveal the evidence.
He said it was “no secret” that the Portuguese police have a “different theory” about the case, and insisted the German prosecution could disprove that theory “when they finally put their cards on the table”.

Police officers from Scotland Yard attended 'secret' meeting in Portugal to work out where Madeleine McCann could be buried
According reports in Portugal, UK, Portuguese and German police investigating the abduction of the little girl. met 'recently'
By Jamie Johnson 27 October 2020 • 2:39pm
Police officers from Scotland Yard have attended a “secret” meeting in Lisbon with their Portuguese and German counterparts to work out where Madeleine McCann could be buried, reports claim.
The forces met to pore over the details of suspect Christian Brückner’s life in the Algarve around the time when the young girl went missing, with reports suggesting that German police may travel to Praia da Luz for “one last roll of the dice” in their investigation.
According to Portuguese daily Correio da Manha the meeting took place “recently” at the Lisbon HQ of the Policia Judiciaria.
“Wells and ditches have been looked at with a fine tooth comb, but no signs of the remains of the missing girl have been found,” the Portuguese officers are said to have told the British police.
The abandoned wells in question are a 15-minute drive from Brückner’s rented cottage on the outskirts of Praia de Luz, on a narrow road leading down to a beach where the he used to park his VW camper van.
While the Metropolitan police still treat Madeleine's disappearance 13 years ago as a missing persons inquiry, German police are calling it a murder investigation.
Both forces are continuing to try to gather information on convicted paedophile and rapist, Christian Brückner, who is currently in a jail in Germany on drugs charges.
“They regard it as essential to work out his routine in 2007, when Madeleine disappeared and Brückner was living near the Ocean Club where she vanished from,” the paper said.
It was also reported that German police want to return to the Algarve resort of Praia da Luz as part of a “final roll of the dice” in their investigation.
The claim followed German prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters’ admission that without new clues, the 43-year-old will never be charged over Madeleine’s disappearance.
His lawyers insist he is innocent. The Metropolitan police were contacted for comment.

Re: Christian Brueckner: To be or not to be
PJ Headqaurters is in Lisbon, with easy access from the Airport.
The Forensic Science Headqaurters are also based there.
The Polícia Judiciária is officially responsible for criminal investigation and evidence collection. In addition to this, almost all homicides in Portuguese territory are handled by the PJ (there is also the unrelated Polícia Judiciária Militar, the criminal investigation military police). The crime fighting work performed by the Polícia Judiciária is regularly shown in the Portuguese media. Major drug trafficking combat operations are often reported in the main Portuguese television networks and other media, as well as the dismantling of organized crime groups linked with terrorism, corruption, fraud, burglary, robbery, forgery and other crimes. In the 2000s, the Polícia Judiciária had a rate of success of 77.43% in finding missing children, including abductions and runaway children.[2][3] In 2009 alone, PJ had a 100% success rate in finding missing children (193 cases solved out of 193; 53 in the Lisbon Region).[4] The same happened in 2010.

The meeting couldn't have been that clandestine if plastered across the headlines could it? Oh no, of course, we've been this way before haven't we? Many many times .

HOPES DASHED Madeleine McCann’s parents face new heartache as prosecutors say suspect Christian B may not be charged until next year
Exclusive [No it's not]

MADELEINE McCann's parents face fresh heartache after prosecutors revealed they would not be charging the prime suspect until next year at the earliest.
Convicted rapist and paedophile Christian B, 43, was identified as the man responsible for the three-year old's kidnap and murder by the German authorities in June.
Kate and Gerry hoped it would mark the end of their 13 year agony at not knowing what had happened to their beloved daughter but now their hopes have been dashed.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun, prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters admitted leads had dried up and there would be no developments this year, with charges unlikely before the Spring and only if they find more evidence.
He said: ''I cannot say how long our investigation will go on for but I know there will be no developments this year, in 2020. We had hoped to charge him but that has not been possible.
''Maybe we hope to have something by the Spring of 2021, maybe it could take longer but certainly nothing this year.
''We have some evidence against our suspect but it is not strong enough. We have proof that he was involved and that he killed Madeleine but it's not strong enough to charge him.
''We need more evidence and more witnesses but if we don't get them then the case may drop but we hope that will not happen and he will be charged.''
His downbeat comments are in contrast to June where he announced in a headline grabbing news conference he had ''concrete evidence'' Maddie was dead.
He added: ''So long as we have something to investigate then we will investigate but if no witnesses come forward then we will have to come to an end but at the moment I can't see this point.
"It may be that we have to make another appeal to see if we can get any more tips.
''We have not been in touch with Madeleine's parents other than a few months ago when we made the announcement of our investigation because there is no need to."
Last month Christian B's lawyer Friedrich Fulscher - who insists his client is innocent - called on prosecutors to reveal their evidence to be ''fair'' to his client and the McCann family.
He added: ''The prosecutor has not revealed anything to us about the investigation.
"They are adamant but they are chasing someone who is just convenient to them.''
Madeleine disappeared from her holiday apartment in Praia da Luz on Portugal's Algarve coast in May 2007.
Christian B - who has convictions for rape and child abuse - is currently serving 21 months for drug offences in Germany's Kiel prison.
At the end of last month we reported how Scotland Yard detectives reportedly held a secret meeting with German and Portuguese police in Lisbon in a bid to find Madeleine.
The aim of the conference was to fine-tune suspect Christian B's profile to try to work out where the child’s body may have been buried after she was kidnapped, with German cops believing she is dead.
The meeting is said to have taken place “recently” at the Lisbon HQ of the Policia Judiciaria (PJ), the force heading the Portuguese probe into the three-year-old's disappearance, reports daily newspaper Correio da Manha.
Three wells near Praia da Luz are known to have been searched in July but police and firefighters failed to find any trace of Madeleine.
German authorities are treating the case as a murder inquiry and say they have concrete evidence the missing youngster is dead - but have yet to reveal what this evidence they have.
The abandoned wells are a 15-minute drive from Christian B's rented cottage on the outskirts of Praia de Luz, on a narrow road leading down to a beach where the paedophile used to park his VW camper van.
Christian B is also being probed in Germany over a 2004 Algarve rape and a sex attack on a beach near Praia da Luz a month before Madeleine vanished.
In Portugal, prosecutors have reopened their investigation into a sex crime in a playground he was arrested over in 2017.
He was held on suspicion of exposing himself to young children at a playground in Sao Bartolomeu de Messines a 40-minute drive from Praia de Luz.
Police discovered after his detention that he was wanted by Germany on an international arrest warrant for child sex abuse and possession of child pornography.
He was extradited to his homeland and was never prosecuted in Portugal following his Algarve arrest.
The criminal probe was mothballed despite protests from the youngsters’ angry parents but reopened in September.

German prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters has insisted Madeleine is dead
Sehr geehrte Hr. Wolters,
Sir,
You do not have to INSIST.
Everyone KNOWS Madeleine is dead
The only remaining questions are :
• exactly when,
• in what manner,
• where her mortal remains are concealed
• and who bears the ultimate responsibility.

I haven't been on here for a very long time but the 60 minutes episode that popped up in my YouTube recommendations made my blood BOIL.
The whole "we have evidence but we're not going to tell you what it is" is insulting the intelligence of the viewers. How come they have phone records that conveniently place a nasty piece of work like Christian Brueckner in the area at the time but somehow they couldn't use phone records to identify all of Gerry's movements?
As for Madeleine being dead, I was literally shouting at my screen YES WE KNOW YOU MUPPET!
Most of all I'm so confused about Sandra, when did she change camps?

This does look bad for CB ,especially the anonymous witness that said she saw CB in Spain on may 28th. She didn't report it until 4 days later though 1st June and sent to Portugal on the 4th. The report is in the police files .
They can find as much evidence as they like about CB, Madeleine died in 5a, the dogs said so, I believe them.
The dogs findings will have to be explained before they can charge CB.

I don't have Netflix so unfortunately I didn't see that particular documentary. I felt that Sandra was someone who was both intelligent and good at reading people so I can't understand what happened to make her change her mind like this.
It might be a bit crass for me to say so but how is it that a small area in Portugal has such a high number of paedophiles, rapists and assorted criminals? It doesn't seem statistically likely.

It seems to me that there is something seriously amiss with the expat community over there and there seems to be plenty of Brits either living there or owning villas in the area.

This article from The Daily Fail is from about 5 months ago. Personally, i don't think there's anything in it at all. After 13 years they don't even have any evidence that Madeleine was ever abducted, let alone that CB was in anyway involved. They do however have evidence that she sadly died in apartment 5A. But they choose to ignore it.crusader wrote:This article from the mail is interesting.

‘SO BAD’ ‘Shocked’ Madeleine McCann cops claim German prosecutors have ‘no evidence’ Christian B snatched toddler in leaked memo
Exclusive

9 Nov 2020, 13:56Updated: 9 Nov 2020, 13:56
AN international row broke out today as a leaked memo reveals Portuguese cops have rubbished a German probe into Madeleine McCann's disappearance.
Local officers insisted counterparts in Germany have no solid evidence that prime suspect Christian B was involved in snatching the British toddler in 2007.
Officials from the Policia Judiciaria in Portugal, Germany's BKA and Scotland Yard met to discuss the state of the probe.
In June, the convicted rapist and paedophile was identified by German cops as the prime suspect for Madeleine's disappearance in Portugal 13 years ago.
Prosecutors said they had ''concrete evidence'' she was dead but since then there has been no significant development in the long running saga, leaving parents Kate and Gerry facing an agonising uncertainty.
Now a leaked memo from the Policia Judiciaria, seen by The Sun, has revealed dismissive comments made in an internal email following the top secret conference in Lisbon.
In it an unidentified Portuguese officer claimed that the German BKA have no solid leads and are just holding the suspect in jail in the hope they can make two other sex cases against him stick.
He wrote: ''There is no evidence, just speculation. When reading the German case I was shocked. I never thought that the BKA would investigate so badly.
"It is not a serious and objective investigation, but only just to keep the suspect in prison at all costs.
''The meeting was to get the point of the situation, the BKA wants to investigate the other two cases of possible sexual harassment, so that the suspect does not leave prison until the end of the year and they will drop the suspect.''
Portuguese cops have been accused of bungling the investigation and lead officer Goncalo Amaral was later fired after pursuing a false theory that Kate and Gerry were responsible.
Christian B is currently in jail after being convicted of raping a 72 year old woman in Praia da Luz in 2005 - two years before the Brit youngster vanished from the same resort in May 2007 aged three.
He was given seven years but is appealing. German prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters hit back at the Portuguese cops, saying: "We don't want to comment on this.
"The accused will have to stay in prison for the next few years anyway."
Madeleine disappeared from her holiday apartment in Praia da Luz on Portugal's Algarve coast.
Three wells near the resort are known to have been searched in July but police and firefighters failed to find any trace of Madeleine.

Maddie ‘revelations’: Portuguese police “shocked” by German cops “failure to conduct serious investigation”

After all the press razzmatazz, Portuguese police are reported to have accused German cops who claim they ‘know’ who killed Madeleine McCann of ‘failing to conduct a serious investigation’.
Prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters stunned the world in June with revelations that BKA detectives in Germany were convinced they had their man (click here).
But UK tabloids have now reported that Portuguese police have been shocked by the low-level of the German investigation.
Says the Daily Mail, a leaked copy of a memo shown to the Sun newspaper showing that Portuguese detectives believe the Germans have no evidence at all ‘just speculation’.
Said one officer: ‘When reading the German case I was shocked. I never thought that the BKA would investigate so badly…”
The story simply confirms speculation both in Portugal and abroad that prosecutor Wolter’s bizarre press interviews were just another kink in a wild and inexplicable meandering road (click here).
The lawyer defending this latest ‘principal suspect’ has been saying from the outset that there is no evidence to back-up any of the claims (click here).
According to the Mail – and indeed the Sun – German police met with counterparts in Portugal because the BKA wanted to probe two cases of ‘possible sexual harassment’ against their suspect, career criminal, convicted pedophile/ rapist Christian Brückner.
Portuguese detectives were expecting to hear evidence. But what they concluded was that the German ‘investigation’ was neither serious nor objective. It was, said the memo, “just to keep the suspect in prison at all costs”.
Again, this tallies very much with the opinion of Mr Bruckner’s lawyer Friedrich Fülscher.
Hans Christian Wolters meantime is quoted as still believing the Germans are “one witness away” from getting the evidence they need, it is simply that no-one is coming forward.
Revisiting some of his comments, the Mail describes Madeleine’s parents Kate and Gerry McCann as finding the situation ‘heartbreaking’.

MADDIE HUNT Madeleine McCann prosecutors vow to fight ‘tooth and nail’ to convict Christian B after Portuguese cops rubbished probe

GERMAN police have vowed to fight "tooth and nail" to convict the prime suspect linked to the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.
Their pledge comes after a leaked memo revealed Portuguese cops had openly criticised the lack of progress their German counterparts had made in the investigation into Christian B.
Now a source close to the case said of the German team: "They still believe that the evidence is out there they will bring the facts to the surface.
"They know they must uncover new evidence quickly - but they are convinced they will and will fight tooth and nail to ensure they get to the truth.”
And we can also disclose the German investigators effectively have a blank chequebook on which to fund their case.
“There is no fixed budget in Germany for this case,” prosecutor Christian Wolters told the Sun Online exclusively.
“We can determine what and how we want regardless of the costs involved. We will make any updates on the case when they are available.”
That situation is at odds with the UK’s long-running Operation Grange probe which has to work within a budget set by the Home Office.
The Sun Online previously revealed how Portuguese cops have been privately sneering at the way the German team has been investigating the case.
Officers in Praia Da Luz, where Madeleine went missing in 2007, say they ruled him out years ago.
And relations between German and Portuguese police are now at an all time low, say insiders.
A source said: “In an ideal world they’d be working together to try and find Maddie which is the only thing that matters.
"In reality the case has become a vanity contest with each side trying to score points against one another.
"If the Germans were to prove that Christian B took Maddie it would be a massive indictment on the Portuguese investigation and that’s why officers on the Algarve have been so keen to downplay the links.”
Madeleine disappeared from her holiday apartment in Praia da Luz on Portugal's Algarve coast.
Three wells near the resort are known to have been searched in July but police and firefighters failed to find any trace of Madeleine.
The abandoned wells are a 15-minute drive from Christian B's rented cottage on the outskirts of Praia de Luz, on a narrow road leading down to a beach where the paedophile used to park his VW camper van.
The suspect is also being probed in Germany over a 2004 Algarve rape and a sex attack on a beach near Praia da Luz a month before Madeleine vanished.

I would love to know the source behind this Sun feed, who in their right mind would use probably Britain's most salacious tabloid as their confidente? Their town crier to convey the German propaganda which seems to be hell bent on criminalizing the Portuguese judiciary .... what d'yer reckon Clarence - any ideas, can you clarify?

Re: Christian Brueckner: To be or not to be
Any police force with integrity would not 'fight tooth and nail' to convict somebody.
They would undertake a formal police investigation, following where the evidence leads, which may or may not result in a conviction.
Unless of course there is a big reward on offer via a plain brown envelope - 'just stick the name on, it'll get there'!
Parents of a missing three year old child might 'fight tooth and nail' to stitch someone up for a crime they didn't commit to assist an official police investigation or hired private detectives but that's another kettle of sea bass.

Portuguese investigators: Ruled him out early on in the investigations due to lack of evidence.
German investigators: "We will fight tooth and nail to convict him."
Need we say more? We Germans once were renowned for good, careful work and having one of the most fair justice systems in the world - which is why it boggles my mind that Wolters keeps embarrassing himself and the whole German legal system with this nonsense. But of course they must be right, cause as we've learned from the always trunstworthy media, the Portuguese police completely screwed the case up, so now it's time for the German heroes to heroically solve the case.

Re: Christian Brueckner: To be or not to be
So now it seems the stalwart German police force, they who always work to the book and never cross the line, have concluded that Christian 'he who mustn't be named' Brueckner has been ruled out of a German child's rape and murder inquiry.
Shudder - how low can you go when trying to stitch somebody up for a crime they clearly didn't commit.
What next - an open declaration that 'he who can't be named' has been ruled out of any involvement with the disappearance of Madeleine McCann? Or do we have to wait post COVID-19 for a shame faced admission that the past six months has been nothing but an elaborate scam to continue the never ending story of the Complete Mystery of Madeleine McCann?
If in doubt consult the Oracle - he who has direct contact with the German authorities and inside knowledge of their h'operations. Enter Nick the Pissall..

THE prime suspect in the Madeleine McCann case has been ruled out of involvement in a child’s rape and murder.
The DNA of Christian B, 43, was no match for that found at the scene of 11-year-old Claudia Ruf’s 1996 death in his native Germany.

Re: Christian Brueckner: To be or not to be
Not really surprising considering that he has been ruled out of almost any other case that was at some point attributed to him: Inga G.. Claudia R., Tristan B., Peggy K. - investigators have cleared him off all of these. Only a brave investigator in a small Gallic village named Braunschweig still keeps resisting the lack of evidence and keeps trying to convict CB against all odds.Verdi wrote:So now it seems the stalwart German police force, they who always work to the book and never cross the line, have concluded that Christian 'he who mustn't be named' Brueckner has been ruled out of a German child's rape and murder inquiry.
