Well, bearing in mind GM is working and subject to leave approval, while KM is not, so maybe not a question of choice.

Telling it to the papers certainly looks like wanted publicity whether for sympathy or not, it makes her sound stupid to say 'went to PDL to pray for emotional reason?'
Why? Cant she pray at home, isnt God supposed to be omnipresence and everywhere not confined to churches and certainly not only to a particular church in PDL. Maybe her idea of GOD is quite something else. Wasnt it her mum who said "she wasnt even religious!"

Besides, it so stupid to have to say 'for emotional reason', what else could it be - its about her lost daughter isnt it. I dont believe her trip was taken purely to 'pray' for Maddie, the praying bit was incidental to another real agenda.

Shame, Maddie's name is used again for the trip to get money from Amaral.

Come on, I dont believe so many public members would come on and say, its not their fault that they left the children alone, it doesnt give the baddy right to come for one of them...and they'd suffered enough blah blah blah........That is simply not what a general public member would say even if they didnt know better or know about the dvd, because which sane person thinks it's normal to neglect children and in the casue of it one is gone. To say they've suffered enough is so superficial, what about Maddie? They forget who is the real victim.

Baddies simply do not based their rights on sinful parents who neglected their children. They just are that way banking on opportunity, and the mccanns created that opportunity, so it was the mccanns' fault - simple as! Mccanns subject Maddie to the danger, which nimcoompop (sp) cant see that! What good is it blaming the baddy (if there was one?). It wasn't the baddy who lost her, it was the MCCANNS who lost her - why can't people see sense? Get real, it's a real world we live in, and its not a perfect place, that's why parents have to be vigilant where their children are concerned.

I dont have sympathy for the mccanns, in fact I would go so far to say they deserved their sufferings because it was self inflicted, no one asked them to behave that way.
Had they shown remorse and guilt over neglecting and losing Maddie then it's a different scenario. They even claimed theirs was responsible parenting!

Getting sympathy vote is all very well, but that can also backfire, especially when luck goes against them, so why resort to that length to generate publicity?

If it was about praying for emotional season, better do it quietly and obscurely.

The oft-heard saying 'the mccanns dont do things without reasons' ........makes one wonder.....

Kate McCann this weekend has returned to Portugal, where her young daughter Madeleine went missing in May 2007.

Family spokesman Clarence Mitchell said it was one of a number of recent visits she had made to see friends in the country.

The mother-of-three from Rothley in Leicestershire, who is a devout Catholic, was seen praying in the Nossa Senhora da Luz church near where her daughter disappeared.

A small team of private investigators led by Dave Edgar is still looking for Madeleine.

The little girl was three years old when she went missing from her family's holiday flat in Praia da Luz in the Algarve, while her parents dined with friends nearby.

Clearly the team of PI's aren't worth the money they are being paid. Why don't the McCann's just ask the proper police to reopen the case and do it for free?

Would any of these friends be called upon to give evidence if there was a libel trial?

We didn't need to know that Kate Mccann was in PDL to pray. We would however need to know if Kate McCann had decided to do the really christian deed of going to PDL to answer all the questions that were put to her. Then, and only then, will she be deserving of any forgiveness.

We now know why she went to PDL.
Likely her lawyer went to PDL to meet up with her about the 'ban overturn' .
