Kate McCann back in Portugal to 'pray'

KATE McCann made a solitary pilgrimage this weekend to the Portuguese resort where her daughter went missing "for emotional reasons and to pray for Madeleine".

Yesterday morning the anguished mum went to the Nossa Senhora da Luz church, five minutes walk from the flat where the McCanns holidayed in May 2007.

Kate is staying with Praia da Luz's Anglican priest Father Haynes Hubbard and his wife

Passengers who saw GP Kate, 42, on a flight from East Midlands airport to Faro on Friday morning said she cut a lonely figure.

One said: "Kate looked very sad, she was by herself. It is clear time is not healing the pain."

Husband Gerry is thought to have stayed at home in Rothley, Leics, with twins Sean and Amelie.

As Kate revisited the scene of Madeleine's abduction aged just three it emerged that there are new efforts to find her.

Three British ex-cops have joined Dave Edgar's team in Portugal.

"Gerry and Kate have some very experienced people working for them now and they will also pray for a miracle", said a pal.

Dont know where to post this so put it here - has anyone seen it? From that, it seems mccanns had expanded their PIs team.

And, Kate's visit to PDL coinciding with Amaral day - coincidence? Phone hacking?

Notice who stayed with - Anglican priest Haynes Hubbard.

Remind me which priest gave them key to the church? It was a catholic priest wasnt it?
What's the relationship between mccanns and hubbard - related?

Guys come on!
I know you all have an oppinion, but do you not think they have been through enough already? Really does coming on here help? We all know they did not make the right choice by leaving the kids alone. It’s something they will live with for the rest of their lives, but it's done now & they need support not condemnation! We don't know for sure that if they had been there that the situation may not have still happened, but a worse outcome. No one can tell. We just do not know the full reason why maddie was taken. My heart goes out to the McCann’s. As they are going through hell every day thinking what if. One mistake has destroyed their lives! I can’t even image losing my daughter. Please they really do not need people saying negative/hurtful comments. Don't you think they have been through enough & have had all these thought themselves? They are living the worst nightmare any parent can go through every day. My heart breaks at the thought of how they must feel. I pray they get maddie back

I agree with Bev, the children should never have been left alone, and I will never have any sympathy for this selfish couple, its not unkind Lori, it is the sad truth.

All statements taken by the Portugese Police re this case can be read online.
It is amazing the difference of the truth as opposed to what the public were allowed to know.

I'm so sad that Maddie has not been found, however, I still cannot get my head around the fact that her parents decided to eat a meal far from the apartment with such young children asleep. On their wages they should have paid for nannies. I'm sorry if I sound cold and no child should EVER be taken from their parents but they need to take some responsibility for this.... my kids are 14 and 10 and I still watch like like a hawk and they have mobiles so I can phone them too or they can get hold of me. Maddie and her twins should never have been left alone.

If the McScam's would only have admitted they were wrong to leave their babies alone, answered the fooking questions, took part in the official reconstruction, demanded the process wasn't archived then I'm sure the majority of people WOULD support them.

I'm surprised Sky hasn't got this story. In days gone by it would have been breaking news, things have certainly changed. I am very intrigued as to why she has gone alone, thinking

Even at the libel hearing when GM left rather suddenly, she was very quickly joined by one of the Tapas lot, Rachel Oldfield I think.

The mother of missing British toddler Madeleine McCann is on a fleeting visit this weekend to the village from where here daughter went missing more than three years ago.

The aim of the visit was emotional,rather than to attract attention to the ongoing search for Madeleine, Kate McCann told The Portugal News.

Speaking as she left the Praia da Luz church shortly after noon on Saturday, having spent some time inside in prayer, Mrs McCann said she was in Portugal “for emotional reasons and to pray for Madeleine”.

This was only the second occasion that Kate McCann had visited Praia da Luz since she and her family had left the resort in September 2007.

Christ the McCanns are so predictable.

Members of The Madeleine Foundation spend the day in London visiting the portuguese embassy, home office, ministry of justice and 10 Downing Street requesting a full review of the case, citing certain aspects of the case which urgently need revisiting (Payne and McCanns alleged paedophilic conversation, the CATS reference no. etc etc). Low and behold Kate McCann embarks on visit to Portugal, cutting a lonely heartbroken figure in the process.

Oh what a wicked lot the Madeleine Foundation are!

Just remember that the McCanns knew of the Madeleine Foundation's plans for yesterday, the media talk, email accounts have been hacked and phones are tapped.

She wouldnt have gone there solo unless it was on a 'need be' basis, which means something to do with the defamation suit. Maybe need to confer with lawyer or put signature to certain papers.
I dont believe for a moment she went all the way to reminiscent (sp) Madeleine.

She's a tough cookie, not that type, or she would have done so long before the defamation was taken against Amaral.

One thing is for certain, this trip, which should have been a very private event, was made for public consumption, otherwise it wouldn't be in the papers.
I wonder if Hubbard realises how his continued association with the McCanns might affect his life in the future?
A cynical observer might believe he is in it right up to his dog-collared neck.

Thought she could at least have brought that along for Maddie at her prayer session afterall it's was Maddie's favourite toy. She'd given up dragging that soft toy after been marked with cadaverine.

Anyone remember what is her connection to Priest Hubbard?

The date coincidence is really eerie.

Thought she wants to upstage Amaral b/day party or take centre stage, but strangely no news from Amaral this year. A quiet family b/day no doubt.
Cant afford to even celebrate b/day because some greedy goats eyeing his money.

I tend to think they would have both gone to sign papers, or GM alone. No, It seems to me more of the sympathy vote, for what I think must be the trial which must be imminent.
