NEXT Wednesday marks ten years since Madeleine McCann disappeared, but her fate could still be uncovered by FACEBOOK.
Retired detective chief inspector Mick Neville believes the site’s cutting-edge facial recognition software could be the key to finding her.

Facebook maps peoples’ features every time an image is uploaded, and can recognise them even if they are not “tagged” with a name.

Then expert “recognisers” could be brought in to search through images of people with the same ­condition to try to spot the girl, who would now be nearly 14 years old.

Mr Neville, who pioneered the use of image recognition forensics in criminal detection resulting in thousands of convictions, told The Sun: “There are still opportunities to find out what happened to Madeleine McCann through the use of images.

I know it is 2017 and everyone has Facebook (not myself) but come on whats the chances of an abductor allowing a child they have stolen to have access to the internet and why in hell would they post a selfie instead of using the internet to contact the appropriate authorities. How are these people still getting away with this with all this forced propaganda. Its all ludicrous.

This has got me thinking. That picture of Madeleine emphasising her eye defect is known the world over. It is instantly accessible all over the internet. If  Madeleine was alive now, 14 years old 
1) I doubt her captor in the hellish lair/benevolent adopter would allow her to have any social media account or access to the internet

2) If they did allow it (even if they didn't), 14 year old Madeleine would have seen that image hundreds of times over already. That eye defect is very distinctive and she would be able to match it with her own appearance. I'm guessing a 14 year old Madeleine would already have some doubts about her parentage, given that it seems adoptees often are aware something is different. She would look at that picture of Madeleine and see her own eye, surely? The image is quite clear and close up. It's a unique marker.

It seems that whatever the McCanns do to try and deflect attention away from themselves, they end up highlighting the inconsistencies and illogicalities even more. It really was foolish of Gerry all those years ago to insist on highlighting her eye defect.

Here's a thought...if you go by what Peter Hyatt and Richard Hall say about the potential of abuse in some form or another. If Madeleine was "taken" which I sure as hell don't believe but was abused maybe she is more than happy to not be going back home to good old Kate and Gerry. She may well be living the life of riley. Sorry just ranting.

Sounds legit. So, if (like Elvis) , there is a chance she is alive we are back to these mysterious people or persons that made her disappear and wanted to keep her for years.

 It's either child traffickers who came up with an elaborate plan to sneak into a watched apartment....or an unhinged childless woman who instead of stealing a child from a hospital or busy public place, planned a precise military operation on a watched apartment.

Personally I am starting to believe she was taken to be a camel jockey by arabs. There's as much evidence for it. She was small and 'compact' after all!

The media is absolutely Disgusting for using Madeleine McCann's name as a Click-bait, after a decade of this event taking place and they're still dragging it up as if it's something to brag about, most dishonest and inconsiderate ways of making a headline. 
Everything which is being said about the 'Advanced facial recognition technology' is relying on the fact that she's uploading selfies to Facebook or that anonymous childless family who have kidnapped her are uploading family pictures, this seems very unlike that a kidnapper is going to upload pictures with someone they’ve kidnapped. the whole theory is a bit too far-fetched. 


This story just promotes a feature of Facebook which isn't helping in the search of Madeleine McCann. so far with the 'cutting-edge facial recognition technology’ has only been able to correctly identify a burglar's T - Shirt Brand therefore it hasn’t fulfilled its purpose(The T – Shirt brand Which was Identified by the Overpriced Technology was a Black Everlast T – Shirt), Also There’s a massive difference between clothing recognition and facial recognition, even if they perfect this technology doesn't mean for certain they'll actually find her, 1.8 Billion people use Facebook leaving the other 5.8 Billion people in the world in the dark.

A little girl called Maria was found dead and buried a few weeks after Madeleine disappeared so Madeleine probably went the same way. I do not think the parents are guilty of anything other than neglect.

I wholeheartedly agree with you.  Surely the easiest and most obvious thing would be for a world wide appeal to be made for  any female out there who is around 14 with a similar defect of their right eye and has doubts about their parentage to get in touch.  A special contact number could be given. If the media truly believe she is alive why haven't they issued a front page and social media appeal? If the parents, friends, family truly believe she is alive, why haven't they issued a front page and social media appeal?  It's beyond ridiculous now.

If they are looking for a “live Maddie” then someone needs to have a word with this lot.

Good marketing ploy here. Anyone looking up Mccanns on facebook will be directed to this heap of garbage rather than the various groups which are putting information out there about the case.

Sorry to sound over hopeful but has anyone ever considered Madeleine could still be in Luz, I am here at moment and there are many many private villa s to hide a child till she changes in appearance don't wanna sound sad just hope x
