There is zero doubt that MI5 certainly knew of Clement Freud's record as a paedophile and a rapist. That information would leave him open to an approach by a foreign power and it is MI5's job to know it. Operation Grange therefore also knew.

It is quite interesting that such a British man who was also so well connected in both political and media circles not only had a villa in PdL but is also connected to the McCanns and advised them that the dog evidence was nothing to worry about.

What means were used to stop this coming out until after he died? I don't expect that to be investigated.

I am beginning to ask myself why is anyone surprised, these days, when we hear of another paedophile in high office? It just goes on and on and on. It is filthy to the core. I ask myself, what world did I grow up in, because I had never heard or saw anything like this when I was young. I was a married adult when I first heard about paedophilia, and then I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Adults sexually abusing children????? To call these people animals is to insult animals. They are the lowest scum ever to walk the earth.

Kate McCann said in September (i think) that the PJ dont want a Murder in Portugal and publicity about having no Paedophile laws. I think she was right in a way. Maybe there was a murder and maybe Portugal is rife with Foreign paedos. How did she know this though?

Simon Cowell donated to the reward fund and also connected in regular support of the Missing People Charity. Cowell was friend of sex offenders Max Clifford and Jonathan King - he paid his bail money. Outside the court when Max Clifford appeared child abuse survivor Bill Maloney asked a question of Clifford as to whether he was part of the ring with King and ......... (video was on You Tube for people to see if not seen it). Cowell also regular supporter of Missing People Charity Big Tweet Campaign

Branson who also helped McCanns - reported his name was in the black book of Paedophile Jeffrey Epstein friend of Prince Andrew who decided to involve himself in the case of a missing child - not heard of that before - by speaking out in support of McCanns and also Prince Charles also spoke out in relation to this case - again don't remember Prince Charles speaking out in other cases of missing children.

Everywhere you look there are links, if you research those associated with them and it all points in one direction.

Going back to the early days of 3As when did antis get attacked the most - whenever paedophilia was mentioned could be involved in the case, people were attacked, called perverts, made fun of and intimidated to keep quiet. It still goes on today on the groups and twitter - strange when you think it was the McCanns themselves who mentioned the subject yet you don't see their supporters calling them perverts.

A few things come to mind, reading this old Express article cited by last poster Maria.

1. It could fit the villa rented by CF and his wife Jill;
2. The visiting lady in the very expensive english car could have been Jill;
3. The shabby 30-year olds could have been local purveyors of little children;
4. The playroom could have been used for recording child pornography or keeping little children;

If the Express was aware of these possibilities: did they inform the police?

How did she, and even more interesting, how did her husband, react to that?
One would have thought that some form of protest would have been called for, or wouldn't it?

But maybe, in a group of people, where poking your finger in and out of your mouth when describing a vulnerable 3-year old, while rubbing your nipples, being called a nympho on your first visit to an octogenarian in his sleeping kit is small fry?

Have his phone records from before and after the disappearance been checked?

Have the CCTV records about what went on in the rented villa been secured and looked at?

If MI5 were onto him: they must have been.

Just to remind myself ,the villa was sold to someone else and it has been said ,thatCF rented it for few weeks of the year ,people he had known for longtime .Whether or not it was rented out to others ,I don't know . So I read somewhwere the neighbors didn't find them very friendly ,and kept themselves. My son had place in Portugal and we use it as family,and other friends too . It was not easy to become friendly with locals ,we found that out as we had no language and they didn't seem on the whole interested in people that would just rent the place for a week or two. Ofcourse we don't know do we ? joyce1938

I wonder why Mrs Freud has so readily admitted that all the accusations are true. Don't the relatives usually deny any wrongdoing and express their outrage at the defiling of the memory of a man who can't defend himself? I think this is most odd.

HE cancelled his star-studded summer party this week after his late father, Sir Clement Freud, was exposed as a paedophile.

Now PR guru Matthew Freud finds himself the subject of an extraordinary coincidence.

Following the revelation that Sir Clement had a connection to Madeleine Mccann, I learn that Matthew Freud put the Mccanns’ spokesman, Clarence Mitchell, right, on the payroll of his agency Freud communications.

Mitchell was appointed to Freuds the year after Sir Clement befriended the Mccanns in Portugal two months after Madeleine’s disappearance in May 2007.

Former liberal MP Sir Clement, who died in 2009 aged 84, invited Gerry and Kate Mccann to dinner at his villa in Praia da luz, the resort where Madeleine disappeared aged three.

Mitchell started as a consultant at Freuds in September 2008, and kept his £80,000 annual retainer to advise the Mccanns, funded by their financial backer Brian Kennedy, the double-glazing tycoon.

According to one version of events, the former BBc correspondent was put in touch with Matthew through a mutual TV contact and met Freud to discuss the move, before announcing he was ‘ very pleased’ to accept the 12-month contract. at the time, Sir Clement’s predatory nature was unknown, and it is not clear whether Matthew Freud knew about his father’s friendship with the Mccanns.

Victim Vicky Hayes, who was raped by Sir Clement Freud as a teenager, said the late liberal MP’s closeness to the Mccanns made her ‘very uneasy’.

‘It really jarred with me,’ she told ITV news this week. ‘ He [Freud] had a home in Praia da luz, but why invite them and cook for them?’

Mitchell continues to advise the Mccanns alongside roles at various PR agencies. last month, he joined the consultancy JBP as a director.

But despite his three decades’ experience ‘at the highest levels of the UK media’, he’s keeping quiet. Both Mitchell and Freud decline to comment..

Our revelations come as West Yorkshire police prepare to fly to Germany to question 64-year-old convicted paedophile Raymond Hewlett over a sex attack on a girl 25 years ago.

Retired detectives working for Kate and Gerry McCann are also hoping to interview Hewlett to ask him directly whether he knows anything about three-year-old Madeleine’s abduction.

Hewlett is in intensive care at a German hospital recovering from an operation for throat cancer. In the last 24 hours his condition has worsened and there are concerns he may have only days to live.

If well enough, it is expected he will be asked if he ever met paedophiles in the Algarve town of Praia da Luz around the time Madeleine vanished.

One theory the McCanns’ investigators are examining is whether there was a paedophile ring operating in the area two years ago.

The Sunday Express has been conducting intensive inquiries in the resort town and asked scores of people if they saw anyone acting suspiciously.

One elderly British resident told us both she and a friend, a retired British woman detective, went to Portuguese police about a couple who rented the villa, which has its own swimming pool.

The resident told us: “I used to meet up with the retired detective to walk our dogs down by the seafront. Both of us became concerned about a couple aged about 30 who rented the villa.

“What struck us was that they drove a very tatty, British-registered small red saloon car. It was one those vehicles you would normally see on a gypsy camp, not going in and out of a very expensive villa.

“We only saw them coming and going in the car and not walking about, which is odd given the location of the villa. We both got the impression they were trying to keep a low profile.’’

Another source said that after Maddie disappeared, search teams combed the seafront, where luxury villas stand next to large areas of barren land.

Anglican priest Paul Luckman, owner and publisher of Portugal News, said: “The location and description of that villa mentioned by your source fits the one that a searcher told me about.

“The searcher told me the villa was empty and somehow they got inside some weeks after Madeleine disappeared.

“The search dog handler said the villa had a room with a kind of amateur studio with video equipment and cameras with children’s toys and pictures of children on the wall.

“He felt it was something to do with paedophiles. He told the police and they seemed to know something about it, but we don’t think they took it any further.”

The Sunday Express took him to the villa and he confirmed that it fits the description and location of the one he was told about.

Although we know where it is, we are not naming the villa for legal reasons as we have been unable to locate the owner.

The British woman resident said: “I know the owner was contacted after we raised our concerns with the police.

"The person was angry because she said she did not know the people who rented it and was annoyed about being contacted by detectives.

"We heard nothing more about it. The day after Maddie disappeared the couple moved out and we didn’t see them again.

“There was an older woman in a very expensive car who visited them during their stay.”

The McCanns’ private investigators have been conducting surveillance on several properties for some time. Retired detective inspector Dave Edgar returned from Portugal on Friday night and is pursuing a number of leads he is not prepared to discuss.

Meanwhile, paedophile Hewlett is said to be suffering internal bleeding.

A doctor at the Aachen hospital where he is being treated said: “He is very poorly. Fluid has been seeping into his lungs. He cannot speak. The next few days will be critical.”
