Has anyone seen or heard of any of the dogs giving a positive indication like we've seen Eddie/Keela in the searches of the flat and the Scenic?MarcoG wrote:Well they're using cadaver dogs, that don't woof at every item left by playing children.Markus 2 wrote:Work also continued at the concealed shaft covered with corrugated iron sheeting that was discovered earlier in the week.
The concealed chamber, on the south-eastern tip of the search area, is believed to have been used previously by local children as a play area.
Local reports said “non-organic” items had been discovered close to the pit on Wednesday and is being subjected to forensic tests.

Genuine apologies Candyfloss... I've been playing catchup on posts and these were obviously getting written while you were shouting at us. Indeed, he and the BBC spent a couple of million pounds (about £1 million each) to tell us just that - in a programme seen by 6.7 million people. He told the nation: Don't look for an abductor at 9.15pm, I've found that bloke. Look instead for someone seen by the Smiths who probably removed Madeleine from the apartment much nearer 10.00pm.
Without a shadow of a doubt, in promoting the 'Smithman' sighting so strongly (the McCanns having promoted him to a lesser extent already for the previous three years), Redwood does not for one nanosecond share the belief of many on here that Smithman was Gerry McCann. He thinks Smithman was the abductor.
(if, that is, he really believes in Smithman at all himself)
You've not a clue what AR believes. For all you know he loathes GM and can't wait to arrest him personally if he gets the chance.
Any further posts on Smithman here will be deleted and not moved. There is now a Smithman thread on which to discuss things.

Not to mention that in reconstructions and statements Kate opened the door to her left and had to look around it to see Madeleine's bed. In the photo's of the scene it is clear the door opened the other way. She would have got a good view of Madeleine's bed by just opening it 12"ultimaThule wrote:worriedmum wrote:UT,

What about the door that was open much further than she knew a previous person had left it...

I omitted to add the bedroom door slamming shut because Kate tells us that "at first I assumed that Matt must have moved it"*, wm < vision of MO taking door off hinges and moving it >
Kate also tells us that when she entered the apartment "the door to the children;'s bedroom was open quite wide, not how we had left it"* which begs the question of how she knew Gezza hadn't left it open when he was caught short while having his proud moment? Of course it couldn't be that Kate KNEW no-one would have need to enter the children's bedroom from the time 'we' left the door in a certain position until she returned to the apartment toraise the alarmdo her check, could it?

We would like to ask people to refrain from spreading rumours and speculation based on inaccurate press reporting. We are kept updated on the on-going work in Portugal and are encouraged by the progress.
Thank you for continuing to stand by us and supporting our efforts to get Madeleine home.
Gerry and Kate
methinks the sight of so many people rubbing their sore backsides from sitting on the fence these past 7 years and then this week finally jumping off has contributed to the statement above .
It smacks of desperation they know what people are saying they probably have umpteen computer screens on the go at once reading the likes of twitter , facebook , forums like this etc and as for the being kept up to date they are probably not much more aware of any facts as to what is going on in Portugal other than all the news reports they themselves will be watching . Yes they will be updated but it will more than likely be very basic they certainly wont be getting any fastracked results fedexed to them put it that way .
I would love to know how they will eventually justify the Thank you for continuing to stand by us and supporting our efforts to get Madeleine home .
As for being told 'not to go'. Yeah I believe that about as much as I believe the earth is flat.
What a shower

Local reports said “non-organic” items had been discovered close to the pit on Wednesday and is being subjected to forensic tests.
A source said: “It could be days before the significance of the items is known.
"Several are being analysed by the British team.”
So if from a child why not ask the parents if they reconise them, why take days cant be childrens clothes so the dogs may not come into it this time

The helicpoter is back at Lagos airstrip, landed for less than a minute, then flew off towards the west over the ocean. Still an hour of daylight left.

Another slip -up ? If I am correct, ( please correct me if I am wrong ) we were first told they had done visual checks ? then they it changed to hearing ones after it became known MO said he did not see Madeleine at his 9.30 check ? ......so, (Please bear with me ) if he did not see Madeleine but he did see the twins in their cots, then why would Kate Mccann claim the door was not as "they left it" ?DurhamGuy1967 wrote:Not to mention that in reconstructions and statements Kate opened the door to her left and had to look around it to see Madeleine's bed. Either they had planned to check on the children or they hadn't ! So why would she be surprised the door had been moved from where she and Gerry had left it if she ( crime watch) had allowed others to do her and Gerry's checks ? It does not make sense for her to say the door was not in the same place as she had left it - why would she expect it be in the same position as they had left it when she KNEW others had been in there to check on their children AFTER her and Gerry had left for the tappas bar ?
Sorry for the long winded way I have posted the above - even got on my own nerves trying to whittle it down !

In this picture from the BBC website, I notice that there are masses of open fields or something, beyond ear and eye shot at the top right, only as equidistant as the snail search area is, i.e. a few minutes walkin distance. I just wondered if this or other areas, perhaps just out of sight of the picture have been considered or searched very well? I am not sure if such vastness would have had much detailed search back at the time in 2007, but I may be wrong as it is very close.

While the media are being distracted by the digging, it's entirely possible a helicopter is checking out shallow waters and beaches and rocks along the coastline. When is it high and low tide in that area? Would seem to be best to be checking at low tide times?

I am sure GA stated that any disposal in the sea (ocean) wouldn't be possible. That it was not even possible to throw a stone from the cliffs to reach the ocean.
A boat taking a body far out could imo be possible, but living near the ocean myself it seems the waters always give up bodies eventually.
I also believe I read that all the tides times had been taken into the equation early on.
