In case one of the 'elite Maddie Cops' slips off , down to the beach, or other sites, suggested by their 'clients' the McCanns, and 'deposits' 'something' (childs bones?? brought from UK?) and then 'suggests' the PJ 'dig/scan here' and 'miraculously' discover 'something'

all 'supposition' from me i might add.

But i know how the Met 'work' from experience.

What is becoming clear is that with a 'melee' of journalists out in Praia da Luz already, and maybe more to follow, and all needing to file lots of stories to justify their presence there, Madeleine McCann and her fate are going to be news for some time, unless of course the searches are over in a couple of days, which now seems highly unlikely.

Already all the McCann websites, forums, YouTube vids and blogs are reporting high extra traffic, CMOMM being no exception, with 500 to 700 regularly viewing the forum afternoon and evening.

That is correct. The statements of the tapas bar staff do not tally with the statements of the Tapas 9 in any way. And none of them mention Kate returning to the Tapas, screaming and hysterical, which you would think would be the exact type of thing they were paid to notice.

He's a tease isn't he? lol, must have known a statement like that would set us off!

They may be a red herring? SY also asked to search 3 properties, the homes of disgruntled ex-employees of Warners I believe, and the requests were, quite rightly, refused.

This case really is building up towards a grand finale, and we still can't predict what it will be! Doh! The witnesses must be Portuguese or ex-pats and they must still be local to the area. So will they pulling in the old lady who worked there as a cleaner, who lost her job, along with her daughters? Or perhaps the tapas cook, who had the audacity to tell the world the McCanns and their friends stayed in apartment 5A, whilst she and all the other workers searched for the lost child? Was it the man lurking in the shadows of the stairwell wearing sunglasses? Maybe the widow of tractorman? The digger that Martin Brunt mentioned the other day, that is the ejit who suddenly remembered he/she saw a man digging a hole the night Madeleine disappeared, but didn't think it was worth mentioning for 7 years.

Surely that's all over now. The case had precious little credibility when it started, and it has precisely zero now. Must be a formality, and if there is a way for the McCanns to withdraw their complaint and settle Amaral's costs, then I'm sure they are exploring it as we type.

Isn't that an Irish radio presenter's account though? Most of the people that responded would, I think, have been Irish and untainted by the propaganda that we get. If a radio station here did it I suspect the results would be much more equivocal

As the Portuguese 'investigation' has been re-opened and is now a 'live' investigation the McCanns can be re-arguidoed, instantly, on Portuguese soil, no matter how MANY 'advanced guard' 'Maddie Cops' they surround themselves with.

So, imo, we will NOT be 'seeing' the parents of the 'missing' child, in Portugal, anytime soon.

This poll is likely to a little skewed, I agree with that. I can only speak from experience, and of the people that I've discussed the McCanns with, and my FB friends have to suffer frequent McCann-related posts from me, there has only ever been one person to reply that they believe the McCanns. And then after a brief chat, she changed her mind.

In my opinion there is very little public support for the McCanns left, and the support in the media is going to disintegrate very shortly.

We have even had the CEO of Anne Summers advising people to boycott Portugal for its hols. I have suggested Portuguese buyers of saucy underwear boycott Anne Summers.

Not sure it is working anymore Tony, I am not sure the Algarve is suffering any more or any less than any other European resort during this recession. and I have just seen the result of an survey that suggests 89% of the Irish think the McCanns were involved. I have always considered the Irish, the McCanns biggest supporters, and given their generous nature, no doubt their biggest financial backers.

There is undoubtedly still a campaign to blame the Portuguese for the 'botched' investigation, but that story is falling apart as we speak, imo, they are losing the propaganda war.

It may be that some people will continue to be protected, but I think the McCanns have been abandoned. The proposed digs brings the focus back on those with means, motive, access etc, and further complicates any elaborate plan to pin the 'abduction' on a stranger. A stranger would have only 50 minutes tops in which to bury a body in such a secure place that it was missed in all the searches and has lain undisturbed for 7 years.

Digging holes will not exonerate the McCanns, as the Portuguese guy said, how many holes do you have to dig to prove someone is alive? In order to get permission from the Portuguese, SY must have some concrete (no pun intended) evidence. They must know who the abductor is, if they know where to dig. If it is smellyman who has been targeting young British girl, he must have told them where he buried her - unless of course it is the phantom digger mentioned by Martin Brunt - if it were the phantom digger, he must have had a busy night as they are searching 3 sites.

This is, or should be, a lightbulb moment for everyone, for some it might take a minute, but they will get there. Scotland Yard are clearly not looking for a live child and there has been no urgency to track down this child murderer who has been on the loose for 7 years. I agree Tony whitewash and truth are neck and neck in this race, but the finish line is in sight!

I hope you're right but I think the vast majority of people are too stupid to think for themselves and will happily allow the likes of the Sun, Mail & Express to tell them what they think. Perhaps I should stop reading the comments on the Daily Mail articles. In regards the press I'm wondering if there's some sort of super-injunction in place that prevents them challenging the official version of events so they have to keep regurgitating the all out nonsense that we see on a regular basis. I can see a judge being persuaded that it would be harmful for the twins to read lurid speculation (for which read honest discussion) in the press
