Strange Rumours Circulating about Bernard Hogan Howe
Apparently according to Guido Fawkes website - order-order - some strange rumours are circulating about a scandal involving Bernard Hogan Howe.......Could be interesting. Shall stay watching this site tonight. Though it might not be to do with Madeleine, it might be something else awkward which may throw some questions as to his judgement - what might happen if he loses his position I wonder? Will Andy Redwood be permitted to carry on spending (wasting) millions of tax payers cash on a wild abductor case? Could be very interesting.
Might come to nothing though - so Admin please move if appropriate

Re: Strange Rumours Circulating about Bernard Hogan Howe
If true, Hogan-Howe's position will be untenable but, regardless of who is Commissioner of the Met, Operation Grange will continue until such time as it has completed its mission or the political plug is pulled on it.mouse wrote:Apparently according to Guido Fawkes website - order-order - some strange rumours are circulating about a scandal involving Bernard Hogan Howe.......Could be interesting. Indeed it is,BHH is due in front of the IPCC and there are more allegations regarding police tampering with evidence.

Could be because of Mitchell's "plebgate" too TBH. IMO won't be anything to do with K & G.

Re: Strange Rumours Circulating about Bernard Hogan Howe
For clarification: Hillsborough is 'old news' in terms of it being known that Hogan-Howe has questions to answer in relation to his role on the day and thereafter.
As far as I'm aware, the rumours currently circulating about the Met's Commissioner are unconnected with the preventable loss of the lives of 96 men, women, and children, which occurred at Hillsborough Stadium on 15 April 1989.

Could be a number of things, this is also an even bet .
'Scotland Yard chief admits claims of crime figure manipulation contain some truth'
Unlikely to be anything to do with the mccanns they're not that important.

Hogan Howe is mentioned again:
"Mr Vaz added he would be writing to the current Met Commissioner, Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe, to “ensure that these allegations have been fully investigated and to confirm that he is satisfied that corruption no longer exists”.

Re: Strange Rumours Circulating about Bernard Hogan Howe
Apologies to anyone who thought that the rumour/scandal I opened the thread with was going to be revealed tonight - I would just like to say that I am in the dark as much as you - and only quoted the site with the info I saw tonight because it is renowned for scoopingg (as many other don't/have the nerve to do so) credible scandals to do with politicians/those up on high/very famous celebrities - connected with corruption. Usually, with this site it can take a while to break - it may be the indie story, but I did find the 'strange' rumour interesting. Still I know he was interrogated this week in a select committee meeting - not strange again, but it could be this.
Anyway - I'll hold on in there - this site, afterall, put the Jiimmy saville story centre stage/Rolf Harris (when nobody else would publish it), got recent politicians like Chris Huhn and the recent politician Denis McShane (due to FOI's and much chasing up) jailed - when the police didn't want to take it any further.

The notion that there are corrupt cops is not particularly earth shattering.
The Met commissioner is a political appointment.
Ian BLAIR and Dr John REID were particularly close. Rotten bastards.
Big Jock knew.

OR THESE LITTLE GEMS?
Hogan-Howe said he was "personally shocked" by the allegations that an undercover officer was told to find evidence that might smear the Lawrence family.

Met chief was briefed a year ago about police spying on Lawrence campaign
Bernard Hogan-Howe was briefed about police infiltration of groups linked to campaign 11 months before family was told

Met chief sorry for police spies using dead children's identities
Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe releases report on surveillance used since 1970s but refuses to inform any affected families

Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe releases balloons to raise money for the McCann's Find Madeleine Fund.
Takes over investigation into Madeleine McCann's 'disappearance'
Says the people he raised money for, the McCanns, are NOT suspects.

Re: Strange Rumours Circulating about Bernard Hogan Howe
He was explaining/commentating a lot yesterday, on MSM, about the shooting/killing of Mark Duggan - the guy who threw his illegal gun over a wall (IMO, so as not to be caught 'in possession') - but still got shot!
BTW - NOT commentating about the rights or wrongs of what happened in those intense few seconds, it must have been very difficult. Apparently, the armed squad knew they were stopping an armed fellon.

Re: Strange Rumours Circulating about Bernard Hogan Howe
Scotland Yard: 'conceived by geniuses, run by idiots'.
The idiots achieve their exalted positions by telling their masters what they want to hear. The idiots then convince themselves that their superior intelligence and guile has enabled them to insert a hand up their puppeteers' rear orifices.
What follows is an exercise in 'the art of the possible' and a guessing game as to who is in whose pocket, and vice versa.
The rumours currently circulating in the lower corridors of power have nothing to do with Hillsborough, Duggan, or those of a criminal persuasion infiltrating the Met. On that latter issue, were the average non-criminally minded individual shown mugshots of convicted felons and serving police officers, s/he would be hard pressed to identify the 'good guys'.
While this forum still features on p.1 of a google search for DI Clive Driscoll, I would ask fellow members to please google this officer's name to see if they agree with my opinion that he is/was uniquely qualified to lead Operation Grange.
I would also ask anyone who can find the few minutes necessary to appraise themselves of DI Driscoll's experience in the field of cold case serious crimes committed by British nationals inside and outside of the jurisdiction of the courts of England/Wales, together with the outcome of his investigation into organised paedophilia and children in care in the London Borough of Lambeth, to continue reading the jillhavern thread that is currently no.4 on the 'results list' until the end as I continue to wait patiently for a particularly vociferous member to place an order for the sauce of their choice.

After reading about Clive Driscoll I completely agree with you, Ultima. He would be the obvious choice to lead Operation Grange if you were the kind of Met Commissioner who really wanted to get to the truth...and if you were the sort of senior police officer who believed that justice for a vulnerable little girl was far more important than protecting the reputations of the corrupt.
Sadly, officers like Mr Driscoll appear to be a dying breed in the UK. The barrel is full of rotten apples.
As for the 'vociferous member' you refer to, I suspect s/he may be suffering from a loss of appetite!

Re: Strange Rumours Circulating about Bernard Hogan Howe
It would appear that the rumour may have had to do with the plebgate affair - as now a serving policeman has pleaded guilty to making a false witness statement, I believe. Also the rumour may be that BHH might have tendered his resignation last night - the home office have yet to deny this happened.....All very interesting....And leads one to only ponder who else have they have tried to fit up/cover up under his leadership? Surely this now reflects very badly on the Met.

I think there is more to come - Guido talks about a 'coming scandal..'
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
something to come out this weekend may be ..? Guido is usually in the know although hastily arranged injections sometimes intervene. Probably nothing to do with this case but anything that shines light in dark places can only put pressure on those with secrets.
BTY I was surprised by the comments after his blog about B H-H yesterday - a different readership to this forum I would guess and yet there were several references to the McCann case all of which were suggesting that it was accepted that something had been covered up.

Hi Kitchen
Coming Scandal hey? Well whatever it is - it'll probably leak out slowly, maybe on Sunday. GF does have on a column with the Sun now. When you said hastily arranged injections - I hope you meant injunctions....Wouldn't want GF to come to a nasty end.
I know what you mean about the comments, you can't be easily offended on that site, but there are some really good witty/intelligent and informed opinions on there. Not to everyone's taste - but I do like the thought of a site that is widely read by politicians of every party. The most read one in the House of Commons apparently. And the one that causes the most stress to them I believe.
