I`m not too knowledgeable on football fanaticism, but don`t people all over the world support UK football teams ?
Eh ...
ETA if he was indeed an intruder with dirty plans, wouldn't he rather have been wearing a neutral black? Very practical also, if need be to disappear into the dark when spotted ...

Choice words to a degree, CynicAl, but no doubting ur logic!CynicAl wrote:Watching wrote:tiny wrote:yea russiandoll, thats the only thing that's in the way.russiandoll wrote:re " what Redwood is actually telling us is that he knows that the possibility of Madeleine not being alive before she left the apartment MUST mean that she died BEFORE the McCanns went out for the evening. Yes, if he eventually moves from might have died in the apartment to DIED in the apartment.
Redwood and co have clearly found some evidence to support the possibility that Maddie left 5a deceased.
Perhaps he has taken Gerry's advice and asked the dogs.
All very sad. but not surprising to hear death as a possibility from the Met. It was an eye-opener to see it in context, however.
Dead in the apartment, removal of the body.
Doesn't matter if he said 'died in apartment' or 'possibly died in apartment.' Nothing changes, still it could be him implying, an abductor killed her then removed her. Unless he comes out and confirms he's linking her death in apartment to findings of dogs - that's when its whole new ball game. The 'time' of death then comes into play. But he hasn't!
Redwood could indeed be thinking an abductor killed her then removed her body. But he'd be up against decades of statistics and common sense. Criminals don't typically clean up crime scenes that they don't control... And think of this... 5a was so well cleaned that no DNA evidence existed to prove the girl had even been there. In the 20 minute window of opportunity Stinkyman had he had to get aroused, achieve satisfaction, kill a sleeping child who wasn't screaming the place down, accelerate the development of cadaverine, spread it in a bunch of locations around the apartment, clean from top to bottom, and leave without leaving a trace of either of them, carrying a dead child, his MO having gone from creepy trespasser and conversationalist, to kiddie fiddler with no violent tendencies when confronted sporting such a placid personality that parents said vnow, get on with you you smelly daft thing'instead of beating his brains out, all the way to sexual offender, felonious cleaner, murderer and bodysnatcher, apparently desperate to avoid capture but hazardously addicted to extreme risk of being rumbled.
No. Redwood knows its bollocks.
Maybe he's been told to keep a lid on the case, and maybe he's doing an Amaral, shaming the authorities into action, by making the 'official' story more ridiculous by the day. Could he be letting BHH hang himself? How could you get rid of Redwood without him spilling the beans and joining forces with Amaral. No. Redwood is provoking the end game.

Wouldn't argue with the accent but he probably wouldn't be wearing an Arsenal shirt either!
Someone wearing an Arsenal shirt and with an accent could easily be British
Does that fit the description of anyone known in this case - Arsenal fan, accent, British?

As many are saying, any indication from SY that Madeleine died in the apparent has to be seen as a potentially huge step forward to justice. Albeit, tragically still involving the death of a child obviously.Woofer wrote:canada12 wrote:PeterMac wrote:I didn't see the programme, because they have moved the satellite !

Has Redwood just repeated what Amaral, Rebelo, the Archiving two, Grime, Leicester and every other professional who has ever looked at this case has said
Namely, to whit, and viz, and for that matter in terms
That Madeleine died in the apartment. ?
If so, why was Mr Antony Bennett condemned to a term of imprisonment and forced to pay costs of a third of his pension for the rest of his life, for effectively saying the same thing ?
Any ideas Kate, Gerry, Kevin, Adam, Mrs M, Your Honour ?
Worthy of bumping to the top!
Agreed. I don`t remember Andy saying that on the CW programme or the MET video - if he did can someone give the link.
It was the Guardian that wrote :-
"Detective Chief Inspector Andy Redwood admitted that what they have uncovered means Madeleine might not have left the apartment alive."

Sorry if I have missed anything glaring by skimming posts, but is it only the Guardian article that is leading to this understanding?

Here we go. Actually it wouldn't. Because Kate never came into contact with Madeliene just before she was taken. Or the hair samples in the boot.

The new suspect Scotland Yard announced yesterday that they were investigating, under the alleged abduction of Madeleine McCann in 2007, has already been investigated by the Judicial Police and was dead since 2009, advances the Daily News.
Euclid Monteiro, described by witnesses at the time, as a man of tanned skin and short dark hair and disheveled, was born in Cape Verde, he worked at the Ocean Club (resort where Maddie's family was on vacation) and died in 2009 in a tractor accident.
The investigation has even been reopened by PJ based on the discovery of this suspect and English media reporting the track reached the Portuguese authorities.
Advanced information yesterday by the British authorities realize "a potential suspect in 12 crimes that occurred between 2004 and 2010," which "2004-2006 sexually molested five white girls aged between seven and 10 years."
The Cape Verdean deceased was responsible for several assaults and lay on the bed of children, according to the PJ source, but have never realized any violation. All these developments were investigated by the GNR in the first instance, and then passed to PJ, who shared with Scotland Yard.

If indeed Euclid Monteiro is 'smelly bin man', the same as was featured in the News of the World back in 2009, who has therefore already been identified (and is therefore also 'Tractorman), then surely DCI Andy Redwood has lied to the nation about the disappearance of a missing child and should be sacked forthwith for gross misconduct, prosecuted for perverting the course of justice - and deprived of his police pension?NickE wrote:Google Translate:

noddy100 wrote:Yes and dead in the apartment and then moved throws kate's 'small window of opportunity' out of the window (as it were)
And here, unambiguously and in her own words at 5.57 we hear from Kate's own mouth about that small window of opportunity after Gerry had just been into the apartment:
' Erm you know, They know erm, you know, they must have known, you know that Gerry'd just been into the apartment. And then (tongue cluck). Erm, you..., you're right there's only a small window of opportunity but, you know...............'
I believe she is saying 'there's' as opposed to 'there was'. Maybe sharper ears than mine can tell. But what has always caught my attention is the tense adjustment from 'you know' to 'they must have known'. It always stands out for me because even though she seems to be slurring slightly she makes a mental effort to re-adjust that tense and it is a very stumbling account as my transcript above demonstrates.

I don't think this is highly relevant, but Premier League teams are "supported" all over the World. Especially a very cosmopolitan team such as Arsenal. Not to mention which, I've got football shirts from all over the place - just the other night I was playing in a Morocco national team shirt that my Moroccan friend gave to me.
But remember, this guy supposedly compulsively enters the holiday accommodation of English people. Maybe he just "half inched" the shirt?

Going back to the first Guardian article by the press association which was released at 11:43 GMT and was then whoosed and replaced immediately by the one written by James Meikle also timed as 11.43 GMT.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
There is a significant difference in these two articles in that the first one quite clearly quotes Redwood as stating this:
"While I completely accept that there are differences (between the break-ins and the McCann case), there is no abduction that we can see, but the assumption from that is that Madeleine McCann has been abducted. That may not necessarily follow with all our thinking about what may have become of Madeleine McCann."
ie; that it is the abduction that doesn't follow with "all their thinking",
not that she was not alive.
I have been trying all day to get an answer from the Guardian about this discrepency without success.
IMO the "no evidence of abduction" is much more significant that the "not alive".
Because that puts the MCs firmly in the frame without any need to speculate about how Mr Smelly Bullshi* man managed to do all he did in poco minutes.
Why was this article whooshed? Was Redwood misquoted? Or was it too hot?

Regarding the guy allegedly wearing the Arsenal shirt
How did he know they were English families when he entered the apartments/houses? He had a remarkably good strike rate in getting that right
How did he know they had the sort of children he was looking for?
How did he find them in the dark without (eg) going into the parents' room by mistake?
Why are we being fed this nonsense (again)?

He set the thing up - on the orders of Rebekah Brooks, a fellow-member of his 'Chipping Norton set'.
In the light of my post above (in reply to NickE), suggesting that DCI Redwood be sacked forthwith if he already knew that 'smelly bin man' had been identified as 'Tractorman' Monteiro, surely the best thing Cameron could so is as follows:
1. Sack Bernard Hogan-Howe forthwith
2. Order a new enquiry into Madeleine's disappearance with a different remit,
3. Instruct the new Met Police Commisisoner to remove all those involved in whatever way with the setting-up and operation of Operation Grange, and
4. Set up a judge-led public enquiry into the whole affair, with the power to summon witnesses - just as The Madeleine Foundation asked for, back in 2010.

The last time I recall an article being altered was in the Telegraph last year dantezebu. Jo Brand (no, not the comedienne - the columnist) mentioned in an article about the Mcs that the stress of MM's disappearance had caused a marital split. In no time, this was whooshed from the article without explanation or notice of correction. I remember Brand was pursued about it on twitter and she eventually answered by saying it had been a careless mistake. My feeling was that CR were on the blower in no time. In any event the offending ref vanished. I guess the thinking was that the newspaper appending notice of explanation would encourage the curious.dantezebu wrote:Going back to the first Guardian article by the press association which was released at 11:43 GMT and was then whoosed and replaced immediately by the one written by James Meikle also timed as 11.43 GMT.

Is it beyond the realms of possibility something similar has occurred with this change you mention in the Guardian? Just because it is a statement from AR doesn't rule out a legal objection by Mcs does it? Other than that, I imagine it possible AR may have 'mis-spoken'.

I think they must be under political direction, right from the top in Portugal, not to do so.
The two countries adopted a united approach to the disappearance of Madeleine McCann IMO from October 2007, when Prime Minister Gordon Brown went to Lisbon to sign a new Treaty [the Lisbon Treaty] giving away even more of our now-limited powers to the European Union and, as we know from the record, spoke in private to Portuguese Premier Jose Socrates about Madeleinme McCann

I'll say one thing. It explains why during the Crimewatch appeal SY were so sketchy on details of this man if indeed it is "Tractorman" who as been discussed in newspapers/online months ago.
I'm amazed all who have spoken about this latest revelation from Operation Grange and Crimewatch have managed to keep a straight face!
@Tony Bennett: If that is the case, then they also need to be "called out" as much as we do the UK side IMO.

That is the point I made earlier Sir - why was Redwood saying they need to identify and eliminate this man if they already knew exactly who he was and where he was - six feet under!

I've just seen this about Cameron. I wonder how Kerry Needham feels tonight on hearing this.
