This page on the Madeleine Fund website - which is headed: 'Purchase Our Book' and has a link to where you can buy it - continues below that with a headline:

Unidentified People of Interest to the Inquiry

(so it's been upgraded then from an 'investigation' into an 'Inquiry').

Below that are pictures of men who are either 'suspects', 'persons of interest', 'people we want to eliminate from our investigation' etc. etc. - under the heading:

Crimewatch Style Reconstructions

There follow tape recordings purporting to be from five 'witnesses' to seeing strange blokes - using actors' voices.

I think the page has remained practically unaltered since early 2011, except of course for the addition of the 'Purchase Our Book' feature at the top of the page.

No doubt the boss of the now-43-strong crack Scotland Yard Team has given advice to the McCann Team that with his 'dramatic', 'breakthrough' new e-fit picture of a bloke seen near the apartment (but not by Jane Tanner, Gerry McCann, Matthew Oldfield nor Jeremy Wilkins, who were all around the apartment at the time), the website should be immediately transformed as soon as the e-fit is flashed up on millions of British (but not Portuguese) television screens.

Maybe Calum Macrae has the new page ready to upload - and his finger will be hovering over the button as Redwood intones his 'new and substantive' information to an expectant nation, sometime between 2100BST and 2200BST (and Portuguese time) on Monday evening.

I doubt they will be too hasty.
SY have the evidence they need of this new suspect, but are clearly content to permit him to rape and abuse Madeleine another few times before they bother doing anything !
And the parents have full confidence in them.
So that's all right.

If Madeleine were ever found she would have to be taken into care and fostered permanently with parents who were prepared to care for her.
This set have shown they are not fit

Tony, it's only PayPal on the German website page - all the rest is google checkout. I don't know when they ditched PayPal.

There's been no update from the McCanns since May 2013. It will indeed be fascinating to see the next update.

candyfloss, remember that according to the media frenzy in the past couple of days this is said to be a 'new suspect', it will be 'new and substantive' information', and some have described it as an 'e-fit breakthrough', 'very significant' etc. etc.

But despite that, looking at recent posts on this forum, there are already many candidates for who this new e-fit might be:

(1) someone entirely new, never been seen or mentioned before
(2) a rehash of Tanner man
(3) a rehash of Smith man
(4) a rehash of Cooperman/monsterman
(5) a rehash of 'man-hiding-under-the-stairs' man
(6) a rehash of Carol Tranmer man
(7) a rehash of Yellow T-shirt and sunglassess man
(8) a rehash of some other previous 'sighting'
(9) a bloke who looks like Raymond Hewlett
(10) a composite of one or more of the above.

Perhaps there should be a poll on the most likely candidate?

In fact, come to think of it...

You're quite right, in fact I'd already amended the OP.

On re-checking the website, there is a 'Donate' link on the front page as well as the 'Purchase Our Book' link, but the 'Donate' button seems to take you to the 'Online Store' where, however, there is nothing to buy. I couldn't find the 'Google checkout' link.

There are a lot of shady characters (in the meaning of dodgy) in this story.

The Official Find Madeleine Campaign Facebook page is being regularly updated.

There's a request for everyone to respect the twins' privacy.....yes, Kate, that would be a good idea, wouldn't it?

If you press on one of the lovely donate buttons that go from £1 to £100 and add it to your 'cart' then go to the 'checkout' you'll find the only option to pay is google checkout.

Oh my, it seems giving money to the Limited Company reduces Madeleine to an online supermarket experience.

Products are still available (high quality wristbands, holiday packs, t shirts etc) and you can also add them to your 'cart' and complete your shopping experience.

Deleted info re Missing People.

Just been reading this story on MSM where it is making fun of the Portuguese 'egg man' sketch, here is the snip from article................

'Madeleine suspect e-fit drawn up'

Several e-fits of possible suspects have emerged since Madeleine's disappearance.

One, which became known as the "egg with hair", sparked ridicule because of its lack of facial features.

It was claimed that Portuguese detectives took the image around Praia da Luz in the days after Madeleine's disappearance.
Police refused to release the picture to the public, citing strict Portuguese laws covering investigations, but those who saw it were left baffled.
Praia da Luz shopkeeper Simon Russell said: ''They just showed me this outline which apparently gave me the impression that it had high cheekbones and a long face but other than that, no eyes, no nose, no mouth, so I call it an egg, it was an egg with hair.
''It didn't look like it had been drawn, it didn't look like a photograph, it looked like something that had been created maybe on a computer - but there were no features.
''It was completely different from anything I have seen in the newspapers - there were no features, there were no ears.''

So, being as Jane Tanner said she didn't see the face, you can see CM below holding up a sketch of ...................errr a man with no face!!

'morning,
I just couldn't pick one 'suspect' that stood out - but I am just an ordinary member of the UK population - so I guess all their miss-information is working!!!

Could anyone please point me to a picture collage of all, or most, of the 'suspects' so I might contact the investigation with it to ask which one I should plump for?

But after making my considered choice, I suspect I might be shown the BLUFF card (or was that Blankety Blank?).

Official Find Madeleine Campaign I would like for people to understand this from the point of view of Madeleine's parents. This is their child. How would you feel if your child's pictures were plastered all over Facebook and on questionable pages and you had no say it? Would you be so cavalier as to say we are only trying to help or would you understand that this is a living, breathing person we are talking about. She's not some character you read about in the news. She's their child. Yes, we need everyone's help, but why do people need to create other pages with family pictures. Why can people not just share our page? This page is an official page--what comes from this page comes directly from Madeleine's parents. It's what they want to share. ~FM Webmaster

But what the MSM is doing of course, by referring to the 'egg man' sketch, is to futher ridicule the Portuguese Police.

Yet the MSM refuse to question, let alone ridicule, the evidence of Jane Tanner.

Ah - but by the time this was eventually published (late October 2007), the McCanns' investigation team' (or should that now be 'The Inquiry Team') had had the benefits of:

* several more detailed accounts of eggman/bundleman from Jjane Tanner - as her memory improved with time, defying the normal rules of biology,
* nearly six months, and
* the services of an F.B.I.-trained forensic artist (Melissa Little).

Nothing came of the publication of this sketch anyway...

Is SY going to age progress the e-fit, add colour ect? Six years is a long time, you only have to look at photos of your own family from six years ago to see how they have changed.

Ah - but by the time this was eventually published (late October 2007), the McCanns' investigation team' (or should that now be 'The Inquiry Team') had had the benefits of:

* several more detailed accounts of eggman/bundleman from jane tanner - as her memory improved
* nearly six months, and
* the services of an F.B.I.-trained forensic artist (Melissa Little).

Nothing came of the publication of this sketch anyway...
Can someone confirm that Melissa Little (iirc) has some sort of copywright for her images.

It will be a 'middle aged' white man, completely ignoring 'swarthyman', with a terrible dress sense, who has spent half of his life POSING as a padeophile, for 'reaseach' reasons, who lives in UK, easy to 'arrest' (on camera, 'ol bill beating door down, guns at the ready, etc)
All the neighbours will be saying, to the hundreds of news crews assembled, 'he seemed like a nice, quiet chap, i didn't know the was a perving, paedophile, child abductor."Sends shivers down my spine, just thinking about it, having lived next door to HIM for twenty years'

So watch out MWT and JG!

The nets closing!

ETA: HOW did the ONLY 'professional PI' Dave 'Grabbit' Edgar MISS all this during his exhaustive trawl of the 'files' painstakingly translated into English, at a cost of £100,000, by his paymaster KM?

All these photofits and yet not one single person dragged in for questioning!
Raymond Hewlett was nearly (but not quite) dragged in for questioning. Both Dave Edgar (who flew dramatically over to Germany to catch a word with him in hospital) and West Yorkshire Police were after him - but neither succeeded.

But he did provide one of those 'breakthrough' moments (a bit like what's being teed up for Monday) when, as the Sun revealed on 1 September 2010, he had solved the Madeleine McCann case by...

* with his dying breaths getting out a pen and writing out a letter...

...in his own handwriting...

...to a son (Wayne Hewlett of Telford) who 20 years ago had disowned him because he was a disgusting paedophile with a long criminal record ...

...and who had been permanently estranged from him during this time...

...he wanted to get this letter to his son...

...the main purpose of his letter was to tell his son that he really had nothing to do with the disappearance of Madeleine McCann...

...although the media were saying that he was involved...

...he did however one summer evening somewhere in southern Iberia...

...get talking (as one does) to a criminal gypsy gang leader...

...they got drinking...

...leading to him becoming known as 'the tipsy gypsy'...

...who told him that he knew about a gang which had plotted to, and had, abducted Madeleine to north Africa...

...his own gang in fact...

...in north Africa there was a healthy demand for very young white infants...

...but instead of Hewlett telling the police about this...

...despite having had this knowledge for some time...

...somehow a 'mystery man' was found...

...who probably flew from Cologne airport to Birmingham Airport...

...and then hired a car to take him to Wayne's home in Telford...

...he apparently did not give his name to Wayne and left Wayne no contact details...

...Wayne was very troubled by the letter...

...so he burnt it one day...

...but after that, he thought better of it...

...so he thought he'd contact the Sun - or maybe the McCann Team...

...and tell them all about it...

...unfortunately by then he'd forgotten the name of the gypsy gang leader...

...but would do his best to remember what was in the letter...

...the Sun made it its lead front page story on 1 September 2010...

...Dave Edgar (as he has done on many other occasions) said it was 'an important lead'...

...no doubt DCI Andy Redwood and his team have carefully been studying this tale...

...and maybe he is taking it seriously...

...the tipsy gypsy could even feature on the new e-fit...

...alternatively it could simply be one of the many stories which Rebekah Brooks once freely confessed that News International ttiles made up...

...in order to sell more newspapers...

..and make even more money for Rupert Murdoch...

...whose son-in-law employed Clarence Mitchell in 2008-9...

..."It was my job to control what comes out in the media"...

Dr Martin Roberts: "The evidence is that these are the pjyamas Madeleine wore on holiday in Praia da Luz. They were photographed and the photo handed to a press agency, who released it on 8 May, as the search for Madeleine continued. The McCanns held up these same pyjamas at two press conferences on 5 & 7June 2007. How could Madeleine have been abducted?"

Amelie McCann (aged 2): "Maddie's jammies!".

And not only did the man have no face, but the pyjamas are wrong.
Look at the photos of the real pyjamas, and you see that the 'trousers' are knee length.
Carry a child in that way and it is unlikely that you would see anything of the pyjamas at all.
But of course by then JT knew of the colour scheme and so the pj trousers had to be shown as full length.
And then she said they were pink, which they were not.  The pj top was pink
The trousers were white.

She forgot her lines !

I for one will be scrutinising the telephone NUMBERS on the BBC 'report'

I say this because the last time, i believe, a number displayed was the McCanns OWN website.

Why would SY/Crimewatch want to direct 'traffic' to the McCanns, if indeed that happens?

The ONLY numbers displayed should be Operation Grange or 'crimestoppers' NOT the McCann's website!

imo.

Sherlock to Watson:

"Come, come now!

You don't want the McCs to be unable to draw up a catalogue of those of us suspecting foul play and who would take the trouble to spend a few quid to inform AR/SY of any pertinent information?

What good would it do to inform AR/SY and not the McCs themselves?

Don't you want to have the McCs in on all your information right from the start, or do you really want to burden AR/SY with the plight of having to inform the McCs only afterward?

Tut, tut, think straight, please"
