Madeleine McCann: The Forbidden Investigation

Each Sunday and Wednesday we will publish the latest chapters of Madeleine McCann: The Forbidden Investigation - the book written by Police Detective Gonçalo Amaral who, for the first crucial five months after the disappearance of little Maddie, led the police investigation.
Madeleine McCann: The Forbidden Investigation was written by former police detective Gonçalo Amaral, who led the Madeleine investigation in the first five months after the three-year-old's disappearance from a holiday apartment in Praia da Luz, Portugal in October 2007.
We at NOTW Online have considerable sympathy for the McCann family who have obviously suffered terribly from this tragedy. We have no views and can offer no theory behind the disappearance of young Madeleine - that is not our role.
What we believe however, is that as responsible publishers we must allow the reader the option of deciding. It is for this purpose that we have elected to publish the view of former Portuguese police detective Gonçalo Amaral.
The book, originally written in Portuguese, has been translated into English. We neither affirm nor deny the contents of the book, but we at NOTW Online have the duty of delivering news and support the right for English speaking people to read it and decide the truth for themselves.
Our hope is that one day, this young girl will walk back into the lives of her family.

In the foreword of the book, Amaral writes: 'This book responds to the need I felt to defend myself, having been discredited by the institution for which I worked for more than twenty-six years, without being given any chance to explain myself, publicly or within the institution itself. I was removed from the investigation. It was then that I understood that it was time to speak. To do that, I requested early retirement in order to be able to express myself freely.
However, the purpose of this work is more important: to contribute to finding the truth so that justice can finally be done in the investigation known as the "Maddie case." Truth and justice are two values strongly anchored within me, which reflect my profound beliefs: they always guided the work I did for the institution to which I am proud to have belonged. Even in retirement, they continue to inspire me and to be present in my life.'
Each week, NOTW Online will publish two chapters of Amaral's book. As of 2011, no new leads in the case have been established. The whereabouts of little Madeleine McCann remain a mystery.

This is not a hoax right???? My oh my oh my... wow, exciting news!!! I wish they could publish excerpts from The Truth of the Lie!!! This could be a huge turning point even though it's not available on the newspaper stand in shops! What is the NOTW coverage now they are only online? Potentially, how many people could this reach?

Wouldnt get too excited upsy daisy. This is not an official NOTW website. The website address is .eu rather than .co.uk. However if people google NOTW they might come across it.
Still the more widely available it comes, the more people that are likely to read it.

Re: NOTW online to publish Goncalo Amarals book
It is not the genuine News Of The World. Just a sharp lawyer, who has bought the domain-name, he is probably making illegal use of the NOTW banner. They do not care now that the paper has gone. I read someplace that the lawyer is also to face fraud and embezzlement charges for other cases. I do not think that this is the sort of site that Goncalo Amaral should be associated, even if they did publish his book on it.

It may be a questionable site, but it is publicity. Most people do not stop to think about the source, certainly not when a well known Banner of NOTW is at the top of the page.
I understand this site has been running for a while - september 2011? So if it offended Murdoch, it would have disappeared. No, I think this is a holding exercise - keeping NOTW in the public eye. I credit Murdoch with a lot more brain than TM. They've kicked him where it hurts, he's not going to let that go unpunished.
