All I want for Christmas is .... to know which of the stories I am to believe in 2012.
I don't want to go to prison for believing the wrong one !
So could we ask them whether it is Gerry's first or second statement which is the correct one. (Entry by locked front door, or unlocked patio door)
Could we ask whether we are to believe that the hypothetical and 'assumed' abductor jemmied the shutters, or went in through the front door, or the patio door.
And where he came out ?
Can we ask, politely, which version of Edgar's pronouncements is the 'politically', or perhaps that should now read "legally", correct one. (Barcelona / Australia / Hellish Lair / Princess / Paedo*** gang /....).
They must know the truth, so why don't they just tell us.
Then we could all start looking for Madeleine.
Who knows, the McCanns might even join in.

I also want to say Merry Christmas to everyone on this blog and thank you for making it such an insightful, and often an hilarious experience, although at times I find it hard to keep up with everything and everyone as it moves so fast.

I must say it does get very addictive to the point I end up going to bed when some people are getting up as there is so much to read and take in.

Let's hope that 2012 is a turning point for Madeleine and the truth comes out. I also wish good things for Snr Amaral and his family for all he has tried to do for Madeleine.

Thank you too to the administrators for taking so much time (and crap from outside forces) to keep the forum going.

I'd just like add a bit, from me, if that's ok.
Kate, Gerry and all those involved. It probably seems I hate you, I don't. My 'religion' (if you can call it that, many don't) tells me that any hate I feel will come back at me threefold. Don't want that!
I will admit, watching you and listening to you tie yourselves up in knots of lies, fully expecting us to believe you, its hard NOT to hate. However, I'm teaching myself to feel pity. That is easier. I pity you because you will not, cannot tell the truth. The burden is killing you. Kate, you are withering in front of our very eyes. You look twenty years older than in 2007. Gerry, being a cardiac specialist I guess you know your BP, because at times it looks dangerously high to me. And Sean and Amelie, for these two I reserve more pity. Like Madeleine, innocent victims of the very people entrusted with their welfare.
Please, finally, tell the truth. Not 'An Account of the Truth' - The Truth.
Confession will be good for your souls.
And finally, maybe Madeleine will be able to rest in peace.

As PeterMac says, we are going nowhere and have every faith the truth will come out, one way or another - wouldn't it be best if it was your version first?

Excellent words, Peter Mac. To Gerry if you happen to be reading.... maybe you will be able to quash, via legal action, anyone who questions the abduction. For now. But what in 5-10 years when the money is gone, and the twins are getting older and staring to question things? The money will not last forever. Perhaps you believe your own lies now. But the truth will out. Be it in 2012, 2022 or 2032. You won't be able to relax truly, Gerry because someone may blow the whistle at any time of any day. The image that you think you have whitewashed is built on rotten foundations that may collapse at any moment of any day in the next 1,2, 5, 10 or 20 years.

I feel such sadness in my heart that Madeleine is not around to share Christmas with her family (since she was 'taken'...hmmm.......) as a parent, I would not wish that on anyone. HOWEVER............ I feel the deepest sadness thinking of the most awful things that were possibly inflicted upon that poor child, potentially by people she loved and trusted ... now that truly breaks my heart, so I spare a thought for her suffering. Madeleine, you have so much support to find out what really happened and I doubt anyone will shut us up!

Upsy Daisy, a fantastic post. I really agree with you.
Were she still here, at 8 coming up 9, I wonder what she would've been like? Its hard to predict seeing as she has never been fully or truthfully described to the public. Her looks, personality - its all a void, like the void where she should be and isn't. I'll hazard a guess, going by how my niece was at the same age. She'd probably be starting to get into clothes, nail varnish. Possibly she would like High School Musical or Glee. Maybe like JLS and have a crush on Aston, the 'cute one'. Or Justin Beiber... She might even be a 'Twi-hard' - would she be Team Edward or Team Jacob??? (IMO, having parasitic leeching parents, she'd maybe prefer the wolves to the vampires). Its so hard to tell, and even harder to imagine. Maybe she actually would now be into Harry Potter and Doctor Who (it never rang true to me that a three year old girl was obsessed with either, quite frankly).
HOWEVER - and I hope this doesn't sound sick or unfeeling - but in my heart I feel she is possibly in a better place. Of all the photo's and video clips I saw of her, I can't think of one, not a one, where she looks happy? Through my eyes, there seems to be a deep sadness and weariness that shouldn't be present in a three year old girl. She has the look of a world-weary older teenager about her. There is no impish childish twinkle there in her eyes, she just looks sad - and to my mind - anxious. Very anxious. Her bodily stance screams 'anxiety' and uncertainty. I see similar in Amelie too. Looking at the toddler pictures of my boys, there are some frowns but you can see the ''spirit' behind the strop' if you like. But Madeleine? I just can't. Its not because I know she has met a sorry end, either... I've seen it in other children. I do voluntary work with horses and disabled children, and there are a couple of our children who are the same. No joy, just a deep sadness around them, and you just get the feeling that all is not as it should be in their lives. And as Upsy Daisy says, its heartbreaking.
I feel for the twins so much. There is just no possibility of them being unaffected by all this. The more time goes by, the more the lie becomes entrenched, the deeper the damage will become. Telling them Maddie was 'taken' by a 'bad monster man' who then goes to the trouble of getting gifts for Maddie to send, is nothing short of emotional abuse. Its not like fibbing about Santa, is it?
In fact, I feel deeply for all those who did not ask to be caught up in this sick web of lies and deceit. The Tapas children. Goncalo, Sofia and their children. Other family members.
Honest to goodness, I would actually feel some respect for the guilty ones were they to admit the truth. Better late than never...
I desperately hope that in 2012, Madeleine will get her truth and the justice she so desperately deserves.

Absolutely RainbowFairy...it's so sad. I feel it since I have a 2 year old daughter, it turns my stomach and punches me in the gut when I start to think too deeply about it.... just awful. You are right about the look in the eyes...was it because she was 'ill' or was she 'ill' because she was mistreated.... I can't get rid of that image of her with the blue background and make up (something in me says that was her last photo...). As for the twins, exactly they will want more answers than 'the bad man took her' before long, so will the other tapas kids, they will all grow, what will they all do in a few years time when internet access will be more widespread than it is now in schools, after school clubs, ipads/iphones etc. they cannot control this. CM cannot wave his wand over what content the kids are and are not exposed to!! Their web of lies and deceit will eat them up eventually like a bad case of fascitis and in KM's case you can already see it in her, she looks awful. How can they keep this up? As far as interviewing the twins, did anyone ever ask them questions, family liaison officer or the like? I ask this because my girl is two in 2 weeks time and is already having full on conversations with me and tells me so much, so I always wonder what level those twins were at back then, whether able to point, say words, or indeed recite something back (which would have probably been discounted anyway as 'unreliable').

You know, Upsy Daisy? I do think 2012 will be the year... I don't know why, I jutst feel it...
I think we are on much the same wavelength with regards the make-up photo. I won't actually say the words, but I also believe its the last photo, tbh I don't think she was aware of anything when the photo was taken, or at any point afterwards. That was actually my first thought on seeing it. I then flew to the bathroom and vomited, had a look again to see if it still 'told' me the same thing - it did. I have seen more life in a dolls eyes than in those poor girls'. Wicked doesn't even cover the indignities heaped on that poor little mite... 'Raided the make-up bag' - my eye! Then 'applied by visiting beautician' - no, don't believe that either. She would look proud or happy, a kind of 'look at me, Mum!' glint there - but there is NOTHING! Not a flicker of life to be seen. Truly the most disturbing picture of a child I have ever seen (or want to see).
I'm sure your 'lil 'un is lovely, and you sound so proud of her - like a proper Mum (unlike some)
Regards the twins talking, its almost certain - there is a topic written by Dr Martin Roberts (he who started my love of forensic linguistics Wink

) on McCann files called 'Maddies Jammies'. Based on something one of them said about the pair of Maddies.
I think they were kept well away from anyone who could speak to them, and IMO they slept through 'abduction night' for a reason - think 'see no, hear no, speak no'. They couldn't then inadvertently 'let slip' what actually went on in that apartment...

Sounds like you and yours had a good Christmas. My youngest is now 2 hours into building his Lego Star Wars Republic Frigate... Money well spent! He loves it AND he's been relatively quiet all that time (being autistic and very verbal, that doesn't happen often lol)

You know, I can quite believe that those little twins were possibly given 'something' to get them to sleep through and/or brought there, returned to, once the staging had been set up because there is no way in this world that they wouldn't have woken up with all the screaming and the mere fact that KM did not bother to rush them to or call out a doctor to have them examined to make sure 'the bad man didn't give them something' seals a stamp on their guilt for me. They would have definitely, innocently, have remembered SOMETHING if a real abduction had taken place I am quite sure. Even a word or two or an action or pointing or something would have been significant but of course, wasn't allowed to take place. How sinister.............. Madeleine alone had three pairs apparently.

We have long known of the pink Disney outfit Madeleine was wearing when
she was taken from the apartment. Kate's washing of the top after
breakfast that Thursday illustrates just how little time it took to dry.
We know also that the McCanns had a duplicate set (for Amelie) with
them in PdL. They were shown to UK viewers of 'Crimewatch' before being
taken on a tour of the European capitals at the end of May/beginning of
June. We have also been told, by Olga Craig, writing for the Sunday
Telegraph (27.5.2007), that when the McCanns moved to an apartment near
to the one from which Madeleine was taken they "unpacked their missing
daughter's clothes...laying out her pyjamas on what would have been her
bed."

Self-evidently these pyjamas were not being worn by Madeleine at the
time of her disappearance. They couldn't have been or they wouldn't have
come back. Equally self-evidently, for something to be unpacked it must
first be packed. These pyjamas (that's two pairs so far) obviously
travelled in the luggage and, since they awaited Madeleine's return,
they would have been clean (would anyone welcome their lost child home
with dirty pyjamas?) Hence these pyjamas were neither the recently
washed pair since departed with Madeleine, nor the unwashed pair thrown
hurriedly into the back of the Renault Scenic hire car at the time the
McCanns moved house.

The Daily Mirror (19.9.2007) had the following comment to make: 'It is
believed the entire Portuguese case rests on DNA evidence from body
fluids which allegedly suggests that Madeleine's corpse was carried in
the boot of the McCanns' hired Renault Scenic.

'But the McCanns say the fluids probably came from Madeleine's unwashed
pyjamas and sandals which were carried in the boot when the family was
moving apartments.'

To have been somehow soiled with Madeleine's DNA these unwashed pyjamas
must have been worn earlier in the week. They could not have been worn
by Madeleine after May 3, the day when Kate McCann saw fit to wash the
pink pyjama top on account of an overlooked tea stain, whilst
Madeleine's previously worn and unwashed pair remained - unwashed.

So far that's three pairs of pyjamas for Madeleine and one each, at
least, for the twins (who have equal needs), making five pairs in all.
Might that be seven? It might if one takes into account the fact that
Amelie was denied the use of her Disney pyjamas all the while they were
touring Europe. She must have had at least one spare set herself. If so
then so too did Sean. Unless of course they were each dressed, once
again, in 'Maddie's jammies.'
