UK Police online
Hi, just followed a link to the above police chatsite on The McCann Daily
One of the officers says the McCanns paid their mortgage off and bought a flat in Portugal from the fund. Is this true?
There does seem to be a general feeling among the officers that the case is very dodgy.

Re: UK Police online
Personally I think it may be true imo, I cant really imagine it is something a copper would make up and post on a police forum. Perhaps anyone who has twitter or facebook accounts could get that info out there as to what has been suggested as an opinion of a police officer.

Re: UK Police online
just when things couldn't egt any worse and the McCanns couldn't look any more conniving it gets a whole lot more sickening.
Re: UK Police online
Right so the police are going to comment on a forum about an ongoing case?

They probably think it is no longer ongoing. They obviously havent read the PJ files looking at some of the posts on there.

Well we are. So why would the police not do so? They are human beings like the rest of us.
You must be thinking that police officers are all the same, Rainbow. Please do not believe that all police officers are like the rather naughty Leicester police officers mentioned in this case. Not all police officers tow the chief's line at Leicester, Rainbow. So it is only to be expected that officers from other areas will wonder why Madeleine's case ground to a halt, after such a long period of certainty . Police officers are much more attuned to this sort of thing than we are, Rainbow. They have a nose for all this. Rather like our friends Eddie and Keela.

On top of which I dont believe police generate stuff like that without evidence.
Also the mccanns are too cunningly clever to do such a stupid thing to entrap themselves. Laundry the fund maybe, but put in into easily traceable equity...err...hmmm...ha..?

Re: UK Police online
Thanks for the link getem.
This poster was spot on.
It felt staged, most people, at least for a short time, want to mourn in private, he was right out there bold as brass courting the press - I wouldn't be surprised if he wrote a book a few years down the line about his 'ordeal'. I don't think many people would say they were too surprised if at some point in the future it tanspired they were involved.

Re: UK Police online
I have felt uneasy about them from the start, particularly Gerry McCann. He was far too media savvy, it was like he had planned his response in great detail, within days he was talking about setting up a fund (which has been used to pay off his mortgage and buy a flat in Portugal by the way) and using phrases like "world tour for Madeleine" - very strange wording in that context.
The poster who made the comment quoted by maebee also wrote this and he is a Chief Inspector so would have made that judgement based on years of experience.

Hi Cherry,
I think he's a Chief Inspector on that forum in much the same way you're an Addict on this one - it's got more to do with the number of his posts than his 'years of experience'...

Hi Daoud oh I thought they were all giving their ranks
silly me!
do you have to be a police officer or can guests join, as if guests can join then we could infiltrate and try and start of a discussion about it to see what they say.

Hi again Cherry,
I haven't a clue if you need to be a copper to join - I just read a page or two and then left the site.

Apparently you dont have to be a Plod - any member of the public can join, whether they accept anyone who wants to join may be a different matter, we should all try and get on there and see what happens.
