This is not an act of Charity or Mercy, as the German Legal system is based on the 'Hard but Fair' principle. Clarke is just hiding behind his British Citizenship in a Foreign land. If he were German and in Germany, he could be Charged with Interference or even Libel.

It stinks of Complicity from the desk of HCW, who knowing full well there was no real Evidence proceeded with a Fictional Case that Brückner first 'Abducted' then 'Killed' Madeleine Beth McCann.

Well Hans, 'Show us the Body, and prove he killed her'.

I was tempted to go straight to the last section but refrained. I’m reading every word, starting at the very beginning.
I’m about a fifth of the way thru and believe it really is worth reading it cover to cover. There is meaning in everything he chooses to do. The explanation of the front cover is poignant and beautiful. The dedications are moving.
So onto the first section. As we know the Tapas9 statements are crazy and it’s easy to understand why they refused a reenactment, it simply wouldn’t be possible. As we also know the statements were forever changing. Stellander has undertaken to look at each of the statements of the key players and to explore each permutation of the variations. Thus concluding where each route ends and as you can imagine the number of routes are endless. That is one brave man! He is speaking to you, the reader and apologises for how trawling a read it is but encourages you to continue. Indeed he makes it a surprisingly enjoyable read. I am only on that first section, he is just bringing the checking system to a close so I can only share my views up to this point.

I was thinking Nanny Cat more as the Gaspars have already done all they can & he says he didn’t want to bring Dianne Webster into it more than necessary. He speaks directly to Nanny Cat in the book tho.

I don't think the rest of them will do anything there is nothing they can do.

Wolters has either been told to ignore the PJ Files, or never bothered to read them before proceeding.

Fülscher has taken the Time to actually visit Portugal, and has read the PJ Files.

If Bernt believes the Gaspars story is true, and that Webster should be left out of it then that is his decision.

As far as I am concerned, they are all in it together.

When the electronic version of the Brick is released, to be seen world wide, they will be steaming mad, and might try to sue Bernt. I doubt any sensible law firm would take them on. Martin Brunt might door step them. What wonderful irony that would be.

I’m just going by what’s in the book, he does hold her accountable too but in a more limited way. You make a good point though about the Gaspars statement cos that affects her directly.

HCW won't read the book, he can barely read.
FF won't read the book, he now knows enough about HCW's bluff.
The MCs will not read a book that can only bring back dark memories, but they will send it to Carter Ruck for review.
Carter Ruck might have a look but will remind the MCs of the Met's condition for their protection: no waves.
The others are keen never to think about the case again, will they put the book in a drawer in case their lawyers would need it?
CM will only see it as a way of lighting a fire in the fireplace next winter.

It's very annoying that not even an official review of the case will come from the Brick. But, will the main players and the Nuggets Abroad, have to keep checking the suspected burial place, which some of them have visited because of the secret messages?

What can they do ?

Ignore it and hope it goes away
Issue statements saying it is factually inaccurate on all 4,738 substantive points
Say they were "Acting under orders/ Duress/ coercion", which since 1945-6 has not been a Defence but can still be considered as Mitigation, given a sympathetic judge
Sue for Defamation/ Libel
Throw Gerry under a Bus and make full statements
or what ?

The evidence in the book in the form of Statement analysis shows Kate as the most vulnerable.
She has lost her profession, and we believe her husband.
And she was, and is, a Trustee of what is very clearly a long term Fraud, is involved in an astonishing case of "Wasting Police Time' and "Conspiracy to Pervert"

The twins will now be at University or college, of perhaps on a 'Gap Year' to Portugal cleaning roadsigns on the Algarve of graffiti – so she is very much on her own

A short personal letter was included in her copy of the Brick, which is also annotated
It is likely that Gerry will destroy it before she sees it if he gets the book first.
