I do hope the book goes into detail about every aspect, it's only a few pages more than Klaxon's novel - and that's very small print without paragraph spacing.

Judging by the new book's chapter list, that's a lot of information to cram into 296 pages.

Fingers crossed!

Verdi wrote:Gonçalo Amaral on CdM: "Enough with the lies"

27th June 2020

Article translated by Joana Morais.

"Enough with the lies": Gonçalo Amaral calls into question the statement of a McCann friend and believes that the solution to the Maddie case "may be in there".

Former inspector points out flaws in the German police investigation and defends Judiciary Police

As for the English authorities, Amaral believes that they too "are looking for paedophiles who fit in the abduction theory, without however proving that there has been an abduction".

The cadaver dogs, brought by the British authorities, detected blood in the house, but that evidence was eventually depreciated. "The English laboratory wrecked the results", said Gonçalo Amaral, who reproaches the laboratory technician of expressing opinions about the results.

On the night of Maddie's disappearance, Kate had inclusively checked several times whether the twin brother and sister were breathing. "Why does a mother, a doctor, spend the night checking if her children can breathe? Surely there was a risk", points out Amaral, who accuses the mother of not disclosing all the details in the immediate moment following the beginning of the investigation.

"Enough with the lies", said Amaral, referring to the statement of the couple’s friend, Jane Tanner, who alleged that she saw a man carrying a child on the night of the child's disappearance. The inspector said that Tanner lied in her statement about the time, place and direction in which she saw the man and that she should, at the present time, make a "sworn statement". "The solution may be in that", alerted the former inspector.

It's beginning to look as though Goncalo Amaral still has his focus 'on the night in question'.

I really hope there is more to come on the possibility that she may have died much earlier than after 6pm on Thursday 3 May.

Especially:

1. Was there a high tea with Cat Baker at around 5.30pm Thursday 3 May?

and

2. Was the Last Photo really taken on Sunday 29 April?

Without those two, to start with, what new evidence does the book have?

Granted the Correio da Manhã was published in June 2020, well over a year ago, if Snr Amaral is, or has been, considering alternative theories I doubt he's radically changed direction in the past year.

It's looking to me like the new book will be for the most part a reiteration of his evaluation of the original PJ investigation, heavily influenced by outside intervention which ultimately resulted in the archival of the case and the subsequent take-over bid by the Metropolitan Police.

Asides from that, an assassination attempt on the Christian Brueckner story-line.

I think we've seen enough of that over the past 16 months - it would appear to be nothing but yet another media malstrom.

The hidden bastion and their puppets, the media, have controlled this case since the beginning.

When in Scotland speaking at the Edinburgh Television Festival, Gerry McCann pretty well condemned the media for their extensive coverage of the case and seeing Madeleine's face splashed across every headline but as Jeremy Paxman inferred during an interview, they did invite the press into their lives.

Then the dastardly duo had the audacity to work their way into the Leveson inquiry.

They PAID £500,000 [half a million pounds] to PR agency BELL POTTINGER
to "keep them on the front pages for a year".
Which they "Forgot" to mention at Leveson.

Thank you @xclamation for this translation and welcome back to the forum!

Unfortunately it seems the whole interview was about Christian Brueckner and why he could not be 'the abductor'.

Obviously we know there was no abductor.

What we are looking for, hoping for, from Goncalo Amaral's third Madeleine book are signs that he has moved away from treating Madeleine being at the supposed 'high tea' m 3 May as a fact.

If he were now to admit that he and his PJ team were wrong about that - the only real flaw in Tavares de Almeida's brilliant interim report - then perhaps we might dare to hope that there may be a full re-investigation.

If we can't rely on Madeleine McCann having been at that high tea on Thursday 3 May, what other hard facts do we have that Madeleine was alive after Sunday afternoon, 29 April?

I can't think of any

Hello Anthony, thank you for the welcome back. Hope life is treating you well.

This are just the first 6 minutes of a 48 minutes TV programme. There's plenty more information coming out of this series of interviews and CMTV on-going reports, as well as other media reports.

It's clear both Gonçalo Amaral and CMTV have had access to the German investigation case files, have analysed them, and now are exposing with factual knowledge what they and likely most of us following this case, believe is a farcical investigation aiming, not at the factual truth, but at the creation of the "perfect suspect" by all and any means to force only one conclusion, dismissing all the numerous still unexplained and unexplored inconsistencies of this case, namely the unreliability of the Tapas 9 statements.

Underlying this exposé is a public refutal by Gonçalo Amaral of how the German investigation has been conducted, and obviously this also serves as a medium to promote his new book. Remember, this TV programme and Gonçalo's new book are meant first and foremost for a Portuguese audience, providing context in a way, to balance all the disinformation we've seen on Sandra Felgueiras' Sexta às 9 series broadcast by state TV RTP and other recent media reports that were published here in Portugal without any objectivity and lacking accuracy.

Like yourself, I suppose Gonçalo Amaral theses about the Maddie case haven't changed much throughout the years. And how could they change? You cannot from the same facts, extrapolate, deduce a different theory. I can't comment on that specific detail you point out, I haven't read his new book yet.
However, from reading the index it seems to me the new book "Enough with the Lies" is as a sort of volume II of his first "The Truth of the Lie", focusing on the recent developments and maybe as an outline of his thoughts, factual experiences and knowledge as the first coordinator of the Judiciary Police investigation to the disappearance of Madeleine McCann. We have have to read the book before making any criticisms.

The Mirror has published TWO articles today.
One saying Brückner is innocent
https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/madeleine-mccann-prime-suspect-innocent-25167882
and one saying he is going to be charged with murder
https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/madeleine-mccann-search-christian-brueckner-murder-b1935250.html
Extracts:
"The prosecutors last year sent a letter to Madeleine's parents Kate and Gerry McCann saying they had proof she was dead, a claim disputed by the Metropolitan Police.
Mr Wolters has now said they cannot prove she is dead and have no DNA or photo evidence linking Brueckner to her alleged murder.
But, addressing the McCanns, he said: “We are confident we have the man who took and killed your daughter.
“All I can do is ask for your patience. I personally think a conclusion will be reached next year. We have no body and no DNA but we have other evidence. Based on the evidence we have, it leads to no other conclusion.
“I can’t tell you on which basis we assume she is dead. But for us, there’s no other possibility. There is no hope she is alive.”
And

Now Amaral has written a second book - Maddie: Enough Lies - in which he says prime suspect Christian Brueckner is innocent.
He claims German prosecutors have turned the convicted paedophile into a “man-made Frankenstein”.
Amaral cruelly told German newspaper Bild he has “no doubt” Madeleine’s kidnapping was staged as part of a cover-up.

Evenly balanced reporting ?

I'd love @gerardinus to tell us if he was able to watch CMTV from Spain where he is based and if he actually understands a word of spoken Portuguese. It's going to be interesting to see the British tabloid media dealing with the fact that the £12.5million Operation "Strange" and the unknown euros BKA (barking at the wrong tree, doesn't fit but..) investigation have been a complete and utter waste, and that the only facts that have stood the test of time are those presented in the Judiciary Police investigation led by Amaral.

edited to add.

We've got all the time in the world - we ain't going anywhere. I think 14+ years shows the test of time.

It would however be good to have a broad idea of Gonçalo's thoughts on more recent developments (I use the word tentatively), if only to rid the world of the Christian Brueckner nonsense.

The above Correio da Manhã article is basically a written account of one of the things Gonçalo Amaral said in one of the segments of the long exclusive interview given to the newspaper TV channel, CMTV. It comes from Gonçalo Amaral speaking, so by no means is complete and thorough, as it would be if it was a written report. Correio da Manhã, the Portuguese tabloid, is printing extracts of the interview whilst the TV channel is broadcasting segments and the full interview.

edited to add: This bruise segment for example appears in a different TV program, Noticias CM, there's also at least three Rua Segura programs with commentators (F. Moita Flores, Carlos Anjos, Paulo Sargento, the former Minister of Internal Affairs Rui Pereira) speaking about Gonçalo Amaral's book and the information he imparted regarding the German investigation. And from what I could see after buying a monthly subscription yesterday of Correio da Manhã (to my shame, I do hate this tabloid), all editions show a full page advert of GA's book. So, they're pretty much getting the greatest possible advantage in publicizing the book.

It will be very very interesting to see the UK's response to this new book.

Will it take the media by storm or will it be .... 'I'm not going to comment about that' .... or maybe ignored because it might interfere with a live investigation.

Good morning, two new articles, one from last night on Sic Notícias where Amaral says to Wolters to "know your place" and that "donkey's voices don't reach the heavens" (portuguese idiomatic expression) and a CdM article where he states he's not afraid of a new book injunction.

Still waiting for the ebook from Wook 12 hours after making a successful Multibanco payment, which is infuriating, but going to get a book hard copy from my local newstand, which is good.
