Maddie McCann cop: We are chasing paedo clues

POLICE probing the disappearance of Madeleine McCann are examining a theory she was targeted by sex predators.

Officers have investigated 600 suspects including people seen acting suspiciously when she vanished.

But they still have a small number of lines of inquiry which are being pursued.

At least 38 child sex abusers were living near Praia da Luz in Portugal at the time of Madeleine’s disappearance.

Seven holidaymakers reported that children had been sexually assaulted – some in their beds.

Five happened before Madeleine vanished. While police have tracked down some people seen acting suspiciously at the time, not all of them have been traced, said the Met’s Mark Rowley.

The assistant commissioner for Specialist Operations said: “We have a significant line of enquiry that is worth pursuing. Until we have gone through it, I won’t know if we will get there or not.”

He said the probe had been a “hard slog” but the four Scotland Yard detectives assigned to the case could still solve it.

It is why the Home Office has given police an extra £154,000 to continue the probe – which has already cost £12million – until at least March.

Madeleine, then aged three, vanished from her family’s holiday apartment in Portugal in May 2007 while her parents dined in a nearby tapas bar.

Yes this theory has done the rounds before so why does it need £154,000 to chase "clues" when, if it is in the translated files being used by SY, nothing came of it before and was ruled out (or so it was reported)?

Even if they manage to find a paedo to interview where will it lead with no DNA evidence and if there is no confession?

Has anyone spoken to the AC Mark Rowley,with the fact that his Organisation had looked for a"Paedophile Gang operating in Europe,Interpol, in 2008 and couldn't connect it to Madeleine's disappearance" from May 2007?
The Metropolitan Police service have had more than a few cases to investigate within the UK on Paedophiles,facilitating of minors,Care Homes in and around London Boroughs,Islington,Lambeth,Elm Guest House,PIE,MP's from the House of Commons with seemingly very little success, I wonder why that was Not successful in finding any Criminal activity(A very Blind eye Turned)once again?
PS, AC,Mark Rowley,as you know"What you don't look for,You'll never Find" underneath the arches?
did you find any disturbing "Translations"from the Gasper statements,oh forgot you didn't want to go over the original case notes from Portugal did you,April 2008 Leicestershire Police Interviews,DCI Mesiah,Not being the right forum/ place to discus pertinent findings,DVD suddenly went on the blink,No Officers from Portugal Present,wonder why Not,Eh?

I very much doubt that they will be looking at the Spartacus club or any other elite paedophile ring.

Hi Sharon,Ben's information on the phone calls,between Clement freud,call me Stu Prior are a sure example of a very"close knit"exchange of how the case is proceeding eh,Stu,Matin Gimes crime dogs,Eddie,Keela,DNA samples,ACPO Police Contables,Meredydd Hughes?
They may be chasing Paedophiles but not necessarily UK Paedos?
