The final lead must be alien abduction. Beam of light straight into the apartment. No need to force the shutters open

It makes no difference to little Madeleine, they were never going to find her. They set out with a brief and have stuck steadfastly to that.
A disgrace to their uniforms each and every one of them.
With today's news from Liverpool it is clear lessons are never learned. The rag that is the sun continues to trot out whatever rubbish they see fit to print and those fine up-standing policemen working at the time put 96 families through hell for 27 years because they failed to speak out and tell the truth.
Those families were labelled liars and conspiracy theorists. Sounds familiar.

Keep up - they were the first line of enquiry. Somehow that got buried along with Dr. Amaral's career and who knows what else.poppydog wrote:What if the final line of enquiry is the parents...?
Not in a trillion years, this is another case to be locked away from prying eyes for the next century - regularly dragged-up and re-scrutinized by the more discerning.

The tv interview at the weekend given by Rocky A. and others brought up a number of things that maybe the Portugese police will use to keep their side of the investigation open.
Rocky A. doesn't bring up certain points for no reason imo.

The closest they came to investigating the parents was when they travelled to PDL to try to dig up the wallet that Gerry lostpoppydog wrote:"Keep up - they were the first line of enquiry. Somehow that got buried along with Dr. Amaral's career and who knows what else."

Don't you think it's interesting that not only have we not heard much, since GA's Victory, from Team Mccann - but nothing from their celeb supporters. We usually have some defence of poor Gerry & Kate and what they are going through. Have their rich pals all jumped ship now? Cut their donations to the fund?

Out come of Operation Grange wound up
It would seem from the recent postings articles,Sky,BBC etc, that SY's finest are still in pursuance of a Paedophile Burglar taking or involved with Madeleine's disappearance, where doe's this fit in with DCI Andy Redwood stating that Madeleine could not have been alive when she disappeared from within 5a Ocean Club apartment, reported as missing 3 May 2007,did the Burglar do it,as Sir Berard,DCS Mick Duthie are of the opposite opinion that Madeleine could be alive?

One current lead?!
I had one 'currant bun' once...it cost 42p, I ate it in 5 seconds flat & that was the end of that!
What a waste of 42p. I could have counted & inspected each and every 'currant', sniffed the doughy flour, dissected & admired the pattern whirls that lead to the centre as I watched the morning sunrise. Better still I could have toasted it ( to hell with the electricity expense) & smothered in butter savoured, chewed and contemplated each 'mouthful' in appreciation & acknowledgment of the baker who made it!!!
5 years...12M Plus!.
There are no leads other than the McCanns et al!!!!?
What a HUGE & SHAMEFUL DISSERVICE TO MADELEINE!

I think Scotland Yard will have been looking at the McCanns .... they must have been .... what kind of a police force would they be if they didn't consider them as possible suspects at all? They have all the same evidence in front of them that we do. And they must have discussed it fully with the Portuguese.
They just won't want to publicise the fact due to the outrage it would cause in the Uk and the effect it would have on the other McCann children. At the moment the police simply do not have the proof either way, that Madeleine was abducted (however unlikely) or enough evidence to arrest the McCanns.

At the present time (14.58) there is no official statement on the Met’s site.
The BHH quotes were taken from an LBC interview this morning at 8 am when a caller asked what the chances are of finding Madeleine McCann.
Unfortunately sound on the the link is intermittent at present and you cannot here what he actually said, but it must have been fairly ‘off the cuff’ even if he was primed, so we have to rely on the Telegraph & BBC reports at the moment.
Whats the saying about left hand?
18/4/16 - Detective Chief Superintendent Mick Duthie, the head of the Yard’s homicide squad, said officers were pursuing “justifiable and reasonable” leads in the investigation into the missing three year-old.
Mr Duthie, who is in overall charge of the investigation Operation Grange, said: “There is ongoing work. There is always a possibility that we will find Madeleine and we hope that we will find her alive.
“That’s what we want and that’s what the family and the public want and that is why the Home Office continue to fund it. There is work that needs to be done still. “
Right hand:
26/4/16 - Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe has said.
‘The UK-based investigation into her disappearance could finish in the next few months, he told LBC radio.
The remaining line of inquiry is centred around a letter asking for assistance sent from UK investigators to the Portuguese Public Prosecution Service in July 2015.’
Is Sir BHH insinuating that in the last week the Met have concluded that MM is no longer with us?
Surely they can’t stop ‘looking’ when there ‘is always a possibility that we will find Madeleine and we hope that we will find her alive’.
How heartless Sir B.

Highly unlikely - it's not the norm.NickE wrote:I don´t live in the UK.

Besides, a vast amount of their time has been reviewing the PJ files so it would only be a reiteration. Add to that, their major leads and areas of interest have already been reported by way of Operation Grange updates, press releases from various representatives from the Metroplitan police and Crimewatch productions.
Who needs any more information to confirm their agenda?

Think you nailed it there, Verdi.Verdi wrote:No can do! That nasty evil sardine munching wine swilling foreigner has stripped them of all their assets. PHEW!
This will be the only line of reasoning exonerating them for not searching in reality.
However, one word of caution. The last week has seen a lot of statements in the MSM attributed to the Mecs. What proof do we have they have really uttered them?
We do not know what they are really doing/thinking/saying at present

In fairness, missing child or not, you can't expect any police force in the civilised world to continue an active investigation without any new evidence/leads to persue. At some stage any unsolved investigation must be shelved untilsuch times as new information may come to light.
Not of course excusing the force behind Operation Grange, I feel they exhausted all lines of inquiry somewhere around May 2011 - come to think on it, more likely around September 2007.
