It seems its only neglect if something occurs so if there had been no fire she would have never been caught
Why this is seen as neglect and what they did isn;t by the UK press is beyond me

The press, when they allow comments don't seem to mind charges of neglect against the Mccanns, and there are always plenty of 'we have all done it ' (leave children alone) comments to counter such accusations. The 'neglect' charge is tolerated because it confirms the abduction story. Better to be thought of as having neglected your children than the sinister alternative. Comments questioning the 'abduction' seem to be blocked on most of the comment pages. All proof that someone powerful is pulling the strings.

There was a discussion on This Morning today about leaving your children alone One lady sat and stated when her son was 5 she regularly left him while "she popped to the shop across the road . only for about 10 minutes max "

Now he's 9 years old they have been out at night for a meal , "three or four hours " and if he doesn't want to go to grandparents they will leave him to play games and on his computer !

I wonder now this has been said on National TV will she get a visit from Social Services ? Will she be told it's "within the bounds of responsible parenting " ?  Is it not time this country made leaving your children alone against the law !
