New photos of the McCanns

We are in the middle of a long-running libel trial, the basis of which is that both the McCanns are suffering serious and permanent depression, anxiety, irrational fear, insomnia, eating disorders and the like.

Some photographs have appeared recently, on this forum and elsewhere, of the McCanns apparently happy, laughing and joking, which appear to contradict the claims of two people suffering from a serious and permanent depression.

I am contributing two new ones, sent to me some time ago. I thought now would be an appropriate time to release them - in suppot of Goncalo Amaral Day [ SEPARATE 'GONCALO AMARAL DAY' THREAD here: . https://jillhavern.forumotion.net/t7875-goncalo-amaral-day-2013 ]

In late June 2011, the McCanns travelled to Holland to promote Kate's new book, 'Madeleine'.

On 29 June 2011, the Daily Express published a story about the McCanns shaped around one of these 'happy, smiling' pictures of them.

The paper’s headline ran:

“At last Kate McCann can smile again”

The report said that:

“For once, grieving Kate McCann can find something to smile about. So often pictured as a sad, withdrawn figure, she and husband Gerry burst into laughter as they promoted her book about their lost daughter Madeleine.“.

Here, then, are two more pictures of the happy couple, taken away from the media spotlight whilst relaxing with friends in Amsterdam on 22 June 2011.

Oh dear!

If that's what they look like depressed and lacking appetite having being damaged morally, ethically, socially etc, I wonder what they look like when they're happy!

You wouldn't want to see them if they are ever photographed being 'normal and happy'

You really would have to publish a photo of them 'grinning' in a BROAD SHEET newspaper.

you'd never get her 'smile' to fit on a tabloid size page!

Weren't we told just a few months ago after Lorraine that THAT was the first time she'd smiled in SIX years?

Seems to be lots of 'forgotten' FIRST 'smiles' in McCannland!

This couple seem to have "friends' " everywhere.

I do not understand why those "friends'", find them so attractive.

If they aged that much it is because they have always known that it is not a whitewash.
by now Tapas 7 could have told the truth (new witnesses evidence) and imo it is the fact that brought the Yard to Algarve.
the McCanns are all alone now, imo.
I pray they will pay for what they have done to Amaral, to the PJ and to Portugal.

It would be great if arrests would be done today, honour to Amaral, to the PJ, exactly 6 years after he was fired from the case.

It's clear that their distressed faces - and apart from that they're ageing very badly - are nothing to do with losing Madeleine and everything to do with losing control.

Those pictures above all show genuine pleasure - nothing faked (as evident in the clip after 'sad' interview where the moment they thought the camera was off, broad smiles all round for a job well done I presume).

Only two years ago, it's sad to see such wasted lives, more chances to make a wonderful life for themselves and their children than most people ever get, help from family and friends and it wasn't enough for them.

those pics certainly (to me) do not show loss of appetite, hurt feelings, indefinable fear blah blah.

Loss of appetite? Tell me how you can run marathons and triathlons with no "fuel" in the system?

Everything is going well for them.

Kate's book is selling well on Amazon.

The money is just flowing in.

The serialisation of Kate's account of events in the Sun has brought her tearful story to millions once again. And no doubt also brought a very large News International cheque in, to swell their coffers.

Not a bit of it. You simply couldn't get a photo of a couple more happy and at ease with each other. Look at their hands - they are everywhere, all over each other. Gone are the stiff, awkward poses they adopt for all those TV interviews and Oprah Winfrey. These are the polished poses of an accomplished, experienced, acting couple - as the clip from BBC TV East Midlands revealed: stony-faced for the cameras, laughing and joking the moment thery think they are no longer being filmed.

By the way, does anyone know the identity of the woman on Gerry's right?

The promotion of the book in Holland is clearly going great guns, as the Express picture of them bursting out laughing like drains makes clear.

It could be anyone of their friends if the photos were shared. Someone doesn't seem too happy with them though.

Maybe wearing all those wristbands whilst feeling an indefinable fear and loss of appetite but smiling their happy smiles made someone feel sick to the stomach.

Well done whoever it was I say.

The fourth picture down appears to be a still from the Amanda Walker Sky interview on AUGUST 10 2007- marking 100 days since Madeleine disappeared.

Not yet, as far as I know, but I believe that along with the other photographic evidence which PeterMac reminded us of just up this thread, and other similar evidence, they do constitute significant evidence that the claims made by the McCanns of extreme and lasting depression, fear, anxiety, etc. etc. are false.

For that reason, yes, they have been sent very recently to someone whom we know to be in very regular contact with GA. Whether his legal team will want to use them is another matter of course.
