Châtelaine wrote:No, it's indeed no way related to Madeleine's case, but that doesn't mean that the McCs will not use it. They've been referring more than regularly to other non-related cases, in which kidnapped girls [none of them as young as 3-4 years] were found/freed years later :-(

Yet, unlike with the cases they claim give them renewed hope where the victims have all been found in the same town or country from where they disappeared, the McCanns want us to believe Maddie has been spirrited away from Portugal and is on a world tour with her swarthy, pimple-faced monster abductor roll

Well, they've been harvesting these occasions as and when they happened. Gerry said with some enthusiasm that it 'was an interesting concept' regarding Maddie when they were talking about Natascha Kampusch.

So a toddler of four years old - abused from that age for some ten to twelve years is an interesting concept?

They also got a girl in the US (It's nearly always the US because the another girl who was kidnapped and had children by her kidnapper was found a few years ago) called Elisabeth or something who was 'taken' by a Mormon and then 'rescued' to come on board with Team McCann. I think the girl said that Maddie could well be alive - imo being prompted by the McCanns.

None of those cases are remotely connected to the abduction of small children. All the above were teenage when they were kidnapped.

Tigger! You disappoint me:

None of those cases are remotely connected to the abduction a/o murder of small
3 yr old children.

All of the above were teenage when they were kidnapped.
They were of breeding age, and bred, as far as I'm informed. Poor, poor girls! But at least they could clean the pace, housekeep, so to speak.

However, our Maddie -to put it bluntly- could serve no purpose, no sex, no babies, no nothing, notwithstanding her dear mothers conviction that she would be able and willing to give an abductor -so fullheartily forgiven by that self same mother- her tuppence worth.

Somehow I cannot envisage our 4 yr old protagonist doing the housekeeping, vacuuming the flours, preparing meals, ironing someones shirts etc etc.

I am so sorry

If Maddie has been snatched by a monster I pray that a reconstruction is asked for by the review team and carried out as it might jog someone's memory and give a clue which has not previously been known about - this would get the investigation re-opened pronto. But it makes Edgars' Hellish Lair more credible.
Which then raises the question about why they have not bothered looking for it over the last 6 years.
They can't have it both ways.
IF Madeleine could have been alive
they would have been looking for her.
They haven't.
So she isn't.

Madeleine could be held against her will for years like Fritzl's secret family Daily Mail
1st May 2008
Madeleine McCann's parents fear she could end up like the secret family Josef Fritzl kept captive in an underground dungeon in Austria, they revealed today.
In an appearance on Sky News the McCanns were asked if the shocking case gave them a glimmer of hope, as proof that it was possible for someone missing so long to still be alive.
Mr McCann replied: "It's an interesting concept isn't it? And of course Austria has had the other case of Natascha Kampusch who was missing for eight years." Unquote

You would think that with three teenage girls being abducted at the same time, in the same area, there would have been widespread news at the time of the disappearance and campaigns galore thereafter. So why is it that I cannot find one single article on Google that reports the disappearance of these girls, and why is it that the majority of Google articles on this trio are less than 24 hours old? Just how genuine is this story?

The one thing that I did find that was more than 24 hours old was the linkedin account of Amanda Berry

Sharon, I agree that it's difficult , but not impossible to find some early information on their disappearances [ apart from the older one, whom nobody seems to ever have been looking for, and that's IMO suspicious]. I've found some news [apologies, haven't saved the links], that e.g. police have been digging a couple of years ago when there were "indications" by a convict as to where Amanda might have been buried ... I wouldn't jump to conclusions at the moment. It's just becoming apparent that indeed LE might have been a bit more vigilant in their searches, especially in that area and in particular at that address ...

ETA I've seen a picture of the Amanda Berry, lecturer at University and she looks to me like someone in her 50's.

Kidnapping survivors Elizabeth Smart, Jaycee Dugard share advice

(AP) Elizabeth Smart says she's overjoyed to hear about the happy ending for the Cleveland women who escaped Monday after being missing a decade.

Smart said Tuesday on ABC's Good Morning America that the ordeal highlights the importance of the public staying alert and vigilant. She advised the women to focus on moving forward and let go of the past. Smart says it's also important for others to respect the privacy of those women as they recover from the decade-long ordeal.

Smart was kidnapped from her bedroom in Salt Lake City when she was 14. She was freed nine months later when she was found walking with her captor on a suburban street in March 2003.

Kidnapping survivor Jaycee Dugard, who was held captive for 18 years, says the women need a chance to heal and reconnect with the world.

In a statement released Tuesday through her publicist, Dugard said the human spirit is resilient, and the case reaffirms that people should never give up hope.

Dugard was abducted from a South Lake Tahoe, Calif., bus stop in 1991 at the age of 11. She was held captive for 18 years in a backyard, where she gave birth to two children conceived by rape.

She wrote a best-selling memoir in 2011, A Stolen Life, which recounts her years in captivity.

Police in Cleveland said the three women who vanished a decade ago were found Monday. Authorities later arrested three brothers, ages 50 to 54. Authorities suspect the women were tied up and held at the house.

Apparently the three monsters who kept the girls as sex slaves thought it was an interesting "concept" too.
In fact brilliant "concept" because they managed to keep it going a decade.

Who, other than Gerry, would think that the idea of kidnapping girls, keeping them in lair in inhuman conditions, and turning them into sex slaves is a "concept". Any normal person would call that "acts of evil", only beasts could do that.

Any sane person with common sense and a bit of an IQ would term concept as an abstract idea associating it to promotion of products or publicising of commodities or ideas for building or something abstract like that, but would never term an inhuman act as 'concept' .

The concept that gerry even thought that the act of these 3 monsters is "a concept" is interesting!

From the Steel Magnolia Blog:

#McCann : Elizabeth Smart The Mormon Girl Will Not Sway Public Opinion Nor Stomp On Pat Brown If That Was Her Intention.
It won't wash picking up on old habits, it did not work then and it will not work now. America has lived through the murder of Caylee and the Casey Anthony trial. Anthony likened only yesterday to Healy . The Americans are sick and tired of faked abductions and parents turning their child's death into cottage industries. Nice try lying Lizzy .

Isabel Celis, her parents are doing a McCann, Smart or Irwin - take your pick.

http://shadplay.blogspot.com.es/2012/05/isabelcelis-dads-having-lot-of-fun.html

A reminder of how McCann used Ed Smart to tell the American people he had been framed by the PJ.

Gerry McCann told Smart that he would not be surprised if the police planted evidence in his car, rented 25 days after he claimed his daughter was abducted by a paedophile , Smart was repeating McCanns words verbatim on Larry King Live Show suggesting the Portuguese police were trying to frame his new buddy Gerry McCann ! !!!! Cadaver dogs did indeed pick up on the trunk of the car, mothers clothing , apartment and the childs soft toy.Maddies body has never been found and the McCanns were not charged, the case shelved waiting for new evidence.

Dumb and getting dumber. McCann nor Ed Smart the brightest buttons in the box. How could the PJ possibly plant evidence in the car without Madeleines body ?

Madeleine McCann's parents given renewed hope of finding their daughter after three women are rescued in Ohio Empty Re: Madeleine McCann's parents given renewed hope of finding their daughter after three women are rescued in Ohio

Post by MissesWillYa 08.05.13 15:44

I logged into these forums this morning specifically to see if an article of this type had been posted. I was pretty sure it would happen.

One of the biggest differences I see between Maddie and these three women is that there were strong indications in Maddie's case that she had died in the place she was last seen. The three women (girls) disappeared without a trace. Maybe it's just me, but that kind of disappearance, combined of course with their older ages at the time, would probably give me at least a little bit of hope that they might someday be found alive.

As to why there wasn't more info at the time of the girls' disappearances, that's not very unusual in the US, especially for the time when they went missing. You have a few very high-profile cases like Elizabeth Smart, but they're only a handful compared to the vast numbers of missing in this country. There is also a good deal of controversy related to race and ethnic background; many believe that white females will receive much more media attention when they go missing than black or Hispanic females will, and the same goes for rich versus poor. Cleveland is a large city and my understanding is that the girls went missing and were found in an undesirable neighborhood; i.e., a poor one. At least one of these girls is Hispanic as well. I'm not defending this trend at all, please understand. I'm just offering some of the reasons for the lack of coverage. It's an issue which has been discussed a lot here in recent years.

Post by Guest 08.05.13 16:30

Tigger, don't lose your edge.

Simpel:

The sardine munchers had a spare key to the appartment;
Having observed and selected little Maddie beforehand, even standing beside her doting mother at the tennis courts/swimming pool whereever, and having noted when the T-gang was wont to lay into the wine at the Tapas nightly, they went in for the strike on Thursday night, of course having had a dry run noticed by little Maddie herself (crying incident) on Wednesday (or Tuesday or some other day)

GM having taken a peep/leak and having exited the appartment, they struck, and spirited the child away as only they would know how.

Somehow, this caused cadaverine, which they then neatly dispersed on all objects mentioned (car)

To some it might seem strange they also managed to put some on the car keys (in GMs pocket, or KHs handbag?) a/o on Cuddle Cat. This must have called for skills unimagined regarding the bungling etc etc, but still it must have been done in order to justify GM's statments.

And then they went -burglared the car- and smeared the cadaverine all over the place, taking special care to put it in the car booth, together with some blonde hairs (probably collected from an unsuspecting hairdresser or British tourist or what else you see running around blonde in Portugal generally)

This, my dear Tigger, does not beggar belief.

It dwarfs it.

Funny sort of people they hand out licences to practise medicine to, in the UK. If they can do no better that this.

Hope Can Be Painful for Families of Missing Kids

The miraculous rescue of three missing women has given hope to many families whose loved ones have vanished. Yet hope, when searching for a long-lost child, can be a dangerous thing.

Thousands of children are missing across the country. The longer they are gone, the smaller the chance they will be found alive. So when three women who had been missing for a decade or more emerged from the house where they had been held captive, it provided an extraordinarily rare happy ending.

"I would definitely say it was a miracle," said Kelly Murphy, who founded Project Jason, after her own son vanished, to help other such families.

Murphy had worked with two of the Cleveland families while their daughters were missing. After they were found, she heard from many others who are still searching.

"The general response is that it gives us all hope," Murphy said. "I'm in the situation, too, with my son almost missing for 12 years without a trace and without clues. It definitely gives us hope that there is a chance. If it happened to those girls, it can happen to us."

"To have hope helps you get through each day, hope that there's a good answer instead of the answer that nobody wants. It just helps you keep going, because it's very difficult to have to live with ambiguous loss."

But how much does it help to hope for a miracle, which by definition is almost impossible?

Some, like Murphy, need to keep that spark alive, however small. Others, like Jody Himebaugh, need to protect their emotions.

Himebaugh knows about what happened in Cleveland but has avoided the details. His son Mark disappeared in 1991 at age 11.

"Every time I watch this kind of stuff, it rekindles the last 23 years," he said. "All it does, it just gives us hope again."

For Himebaugh, hope hurts. Whether hope is more painful than saying a permanent goodbye — that's impossible to figure.

"For the past 23 years, I've been happy for the families over that time who have recovered their kids, dead or alive," he said. "At least they've got closure. My biggest fear is I'm going to go to my grave and never know what happened to Mark, and why."

The flip side of that fear is hope — and the loved ones of the missing hold tight to every glimmer. Advocates and others often speak of persistence, of keeping missing children's images in the public eye, of always working to make sure the public stays alert for the one tiny detail that could end a family's agony.

"What an amazing time to be talking about hope, with everything that's happening," Jaycee Dugard, who was missing for more than 18 years before being rescued, said this week at an awards ceremony where she urged the audience not to give up on missing children.

In Cleveland, several religious leaders spoke on that theme Wednesday. Catholic Bishop Richard Lennon posted a video message urging viewers to pray that missing people "may have the strength of the virtue of hope and that their families also may never give up hope."

After a prayer gathering on the block where the women were found, the Rev. Larry Harris of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church said, "There's a hope that many, many more will be coming back home."

On the block where the three women were found, Tonia Adkins was wearing a T-shirt printed with the face of her missing sister, Christina Adkins. Cristina vanished in 1995 at age 17, four blocks from the house where the women were held captive.

The arrests of three brothers has given the Adkins family hope for Christina, but has also stoked the dread that has been part of their lives for 18 years.

"I do believe that they're gonna break open some cases," Tonia Adkins said. "I'm scared that I'm gonna get the news that my sister's not alive."

The space between hope and resignation is a difficult place.

"It's an absolutely terrible predicament to be in. I can't imagine what families go through wondering — just the lack of knowing," said Bob Hoever, director of special programs with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

He recommends hope and sees this as the powerful lesson of the Cleveland case.

"I believe this is a tremendous boost to families giving them hope, that we should never give up looking for their children," Hoever said. "The National Center never stops looking for a missing child. As long as they're missing, we will continue looking."

But Sherry Hamby, a psychology professor at Sewanee: The University of the South who studies the victimization of children, said some families can become frozen in time at the point their child disappeared.

"At some point, after so many years have gone by, there's a lot to be said for closure," Hamby said. "It's just not a natural state of being for humans to be frozen in this time, waiting. We can't stay in that kind of limbo forever."

The most difficult decisions, Hamby said, can involve what seem like mundane details.

"Are you going to pack up that child's things? Are you going to convert that room to another use?" she said. "I think the need for psychological closure just is necessary because of the concrete limitations that we are facing. It's just hard to go through life trying to not make any changes."

Murphy, of Project Jason, knows families who have chosen to believe their missing child is dead, and she does not begrudge them that choice.

But Murphy holds onto hope, "because it keeps us focused on the future."

"It's just unfortunate that in our case," she said, "we don't know what the future holds."

Madeleine McCann's parents given renewed hope of finding their daughter after three women are rescued in Ohio Empty No evidence that she has come to harm ? How DARE they ?

Post by PeterMac 15.05.13 13:18

This is nauseating.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2324731/It-like-prisoners-war-Cleveland-women-suffer-injuries-severe-malnutrition-including-hearing-loss-muscle-damage.html
'It was like they were prisoners of war:' Gina DeJesus cannot move her head after being chained up with Michelle Knight in basement for years, say medics
The basement where the women were held had chains coming from the wall, and dog leashes attached to the ceiling, according to police sources
The women were restrained with them and duct tape in 'stress positions' for long periods that left them with bed sores and other injuries
Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight were in worse condition than Amanda Berry with the source saying: 'There is a reason why you have only seen a picture of Amanda
Abductor would duct tape the women over all parts of their faces, even their eyes, only leaving an opening so they could breathe
The women, especially DeJesus and Knight, were now exhibiting signs of malnutrition as Ariel Castro used food as a means to torment them

The women will require long-term therapy for injuries such as hearing loss and joint and muscle damage, two sources with direct knowledge said.
AND the McCanns DARE use this case to try to con the world into thinking that Madeleine could be safe and well !
YOU, Kate and Gerry are the ones who gave us the Hellish Lair and the Predatory Paed****. No one else suggested it. It was your invention to gain sympathy
And YOU, Tapas7, are the ones who have allowed this disgusting charade to go on for so long.

I'm in general no fan of "shouting". But this time I can only fully agree with you, Peter. Well "said".

I don't just want to shout.

How the Hell can their professional advisors allow them to do this in the first place.
How the Hell can Mitchell not understand the damage he has done
How the Hell can the McCanns not understand that Mitchell has been a disaster for them from the very start - even if one of their many stories were true
How the Hell can newspapers across the English speaking world not pick up on their disgusting jumping on every passing gravy train, and not take them to task.

Well there are an awful lot of careers benefitted from from the demise of a little girl. Filthy lucre is the answer. No-one gives a toss for Madeleine. She is a brand name. She was almost a film (remember) when she hadn't been missing for too long. Pat Brown also cashed in on this and left the show. Tony Bennett remained looking at the truth for no profit.

Don't forget Kate public proclamation she "can forgive Maddie's abductor".
In the meantime she also implied Maddie could be kept alive by a horrific monster predatory paedo**** who tortured his prey physically, mentally, and psychologically, in a cruel twisted and evil manner worst than treatment war prisoner suffered.

What amazes me is the tabloid allows them their madness without taking them to task. One can't help concluding the press is perhaps giving them enough ropes waiting for the right moment to tighten the noose.
