Pachecos first contact with McCanns was 5th May 2007
He gave the keys to the church on the 7th / 8th May upon the suggestion of John Geraghty, a resident of the Parish, someone from the church gave the key to John Geraghty who then passed it on to the McCanns with Father Pacheo’s permission
He met with the McCanns after they returned from Morocco he remembered the McCanns were animated when they returned from there

It is a good one. He says that the McCann's don't want Madeleine to be forgotten. Well, they've got their wish, but perhaps not in the way they imagined.

Last night a vigil was held in the resort’s Catholic Church, Nossa Senhora da Luz, to mark the anniversary of the disappearance of Madeleine. Haynes Hubbard the Canadian vicar who is minister in the area, and his wife, became friends of the McCann’s in the days after the disappearance of their child and are still close, The Rev Hubbard has no doubt about their innocence.
“Kate comes every six months or so, She needs to walk the streets she last walked with her daughter, to touch base, to look at the apartment and visit the church, She needs to know something is still here. Gerry comes less often — he is busy.

My own theory of why the case grabbed the attention of the press and public is that people didn't believe the McCann's story from the beginning.

So the Portugese complainant is Paulo Alexandre. He's been busy on the forum all day until just after 5pm - and now he's busy over on Bernt's chat. And now that the podcast has ended, Paulo is back on the forum.
