The sleeping bag being missing is interesting in that either someone is panicked enough/unsure enough that they carry her out like a sack, but could equally mean that someone cannot look at what they have done and shroud the emotion in a blanket or covering of some sort.

Ganymede wrote:Thanks [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] for that full video. At 1:40 mins in the video when she describes that Cleo went to bed at 8.00pm and he looks at her directly for the first time and his eyes move everywhere and then upwards, mouth shifts... it seems like she never made it to bed and then when ‘Cleo woke up for water’, another animated reaction from him. It’s like he is watching her to see can she actually tell this story, This is quite possibly one of the strangest appeals ever for a tiny child. Her eye movements are down and to the left the whole time, accsessing contrived feelings, maybe. Not to mention the defensive postures and where the hell is the begging, the hope, "WHOEVER HAS MY CHILD, I BEG YOU, BRING HER BACK' they are settled with the situation. Around 8.08 mins, having spent the previous minute describing how she would never go anywhere on her own or leave us, she says’ she was wearing’, and then scratched her face and corrected to ‘when she left she was wearing …. ‘. And the usual at approx 8.25 mins when asked 'do you think someone knows where Cleo is?' she responds 'Someone has to it's been 4 days' whilst she shakes her head in the 'No position'. More questions than ever now.
It is informative though (and I know the australian press works differently than the british press), that no comment has been made on the status of the mother and partner, yet a comment has been made on the biological father who met with police; he was commented on as not being a suspect. The interview is vey much a done deal in terms of they accept she is gone, why? Always wonder about scent dogs in this kind of situation.
But do forgive me, I could be wrong but I did forget about all the dingoes out there.
Dingos can't zip & unzip a tent. Aussie press is working differently than Brit press, I am not sure, they didn't ask the right questions to William Tyrell's adopted parents.
He's another kid gone missing under strange circumstances.

Former Madeleine McCann cop fears Cleo was snatched
FOUR clues could hold the key to finding missing Cleo Smith – as a former Met detective says she may have been snatched like Madeleine McCann.
Cops are searching for the fifth day after the four-year-old vanished from her family’s tent on a remote campsite in Western Australia.
Cleo’s distraught mum Ellie told how she frantically drove around looking for her when she realised she was gone at 6am.
Officers have urged locals to check their bins for evidence as no trace has yet been found by a forensics team that flew up from Perth, 500 miles away.

'Aussie Madeleine McCann' police admit they're looking for body as girl, 4, feared dead
The ongoing search for four-year-old Australian girl Cleo Smith has taken a tragic turn with police expecting to find only her remains after she vanished on Saturday, October 16
ByCharles Wade-PalmerReporter

Police admit they are now searching for the body of 'kidnapped' Cleo Smith in a case likened to Madeleine McCann's.
The four-year-old was reported missing from her family's tent in Western Australia on Saturday morning, prompting a huge scale hunt.
An investigation into her disappearance is now looking at the worst-case scenario, following a likely police theory that Cleo "was taken" as her parents slept.
On Thursday, deputy police commissioner Col Blanch conceded that officers are searching for the young girl's remains.
Had Cleo wandered off on her own accord, police say she would have already been found by now, The Sun reports.
Col Blanch said: "Cleo disappeared from her family's tent, despite an extensive land, sea and air search, we have not yet located her body.
"That leads us to believe she was taken."
What the deputy refused to comment on however was the likelihood of Cleo being "buried in the area".
Detective Superintendent Rod Wilde said police "hold great fears for her safety".
West Australian Premier Mark McGowan said the authorities are working "around the clock" and announced a $1m reward to her find her.
The "extensive land, sea and air search" team is made up of more than 100 police officers, soldiers, volunteers and Aboriginal bush trackers.
Cleo was last seen by her parents at 1.30am on Saturday morning when mum Ellie Smith spoke to her but when she woke up again at 6am, Cleo had vanished.
Ellie posted a plea for help on social media after a day without her daughter.
Ms Smith wrote: "It’s been over 24 hours since I last seen the sparkle in my little girl’s eyes! Please help me find her."
The toddler was wearing pink pyjamas and sleeping in a black and red sleeping bag, which was also nowhere to be found when Ellie woke up
Lead Inspector John Munday said he had "grave fears" for the poor little girl's wellbeing, but would continue the massive search till Cleo is reunited with her parents.
Munday told reporters on Monday: "Every hour that goes by with a four-year-old out in this environment, there’s obviously limited water supply, it is warm, very limited shelter. It is very, very concerning.
"That’s why we do hold grave fears for Cleo at this time.
"We are continuing to throw everything we have at this and we will continue until we can provide some answers as to what has happened to Cleo."

Re: Cleo Smith: Search for 'Aussie Madeleine McCann' as public told to check bins for missing girl, 4
Why are they now looking for the 'body' of the Aussie Madeleine McCann after only six days....
...when the police are still looking for an 'alive' Brit Madeleine McCann after 14 years?
Why are all missing children dubbed (*enter country here*) Madeleine McCann?
Why isn't Chloe dubbed the 'Aussie Azaria Chamberlain'?
If I was Madeleine's mother I would be suing every newspaper who used my child's name in this sensationalist manner. If I was the mother of the missing child in question I would be suing every newspaper for tarring my child with the name of another 'missing' child.
All missing children are missing - and should be respected - in their own name, not Madeleine's!
Besides, Madeleine's name was Madeleine Beth McCann, not Madeleine Clickbait McCann.

Your first question - I was thinking exactly the same. The same general assumptions apply in regard to the likelihood of finding her alive after 6 days. Maybe the Aussies are less circumspect and politically correct with their press releases.Jill Havern wrote:Why are they now looking for the 'body' of the Aussie Madeleine McCann after only six days....

I don't think they do, quite the opposite in fact.CaKeLoveR wrote:Also, why do the police instantly rule out the people who the missing child was with at the time - usually the parents?
The rule of thumb is that those nearest to the child are usually 'involved', so they generally start there.
I don't know what they have or haven't done in this case, but I'm sure they're looking at the fractured family dynamic in the first instance, whilst conducing the thorough physical search from inside out.

Cleo Smith missing: Fears girl, 4, taken like Madeleine McCann and snatched from tent
ByTim Hanlon

Fears are growing that Cleo Smith is likely to have been snatched from her tent in a similar way that Madeleine McCann was taken.
Detectives in Western Australia have said that if the four-year-old had left her tent by herself then she would have probably been found by now, having disappeared last Saturday.
And Dr Graham Hill, a former Scotland Yard detective who has worked on the Madeleine McCann investigation, has agreed she was probably taken.
British three-year-old Madeleine disappeared from a ground floor apartment in Portugal’s Praia da Luz in May 2007 during a family holiday.
While it is still a mystery how she went missing - it is a widely held belief she was abducted.
He said that a young child disappears if they wander off or if they are taken and the latter is more likely.
He told The West Australian : “Bearing in mind she’s only a small little girl, she’s not going to get that far. Little girls and boys get tired really quick and in the middle of the night they are half asleep anyway.
“The real complication, from what I can see, is the fact that her sleeping bag’s gone missing. I would say it’s a remote chance that she’s got up wandered off and taken her sleeping bag with her."
The toddler disappeared a week ago from a remote campsite north of Perth, in Western Australia.
But despite a massive search for Cleo, she has not been found leaving police believing she was “taken”.
Dep police commissioner Col Blanch said: “Cleo disappeared from her family’s tent, despite an extensive, land, sea and air search, we have not yet located her body.”

He refused to speculate on what could have happened to the four-year-old including the question on whether she may have been buried in the area.
Detective Superintendent Rod Wilde said police "hold great fears for her safety".
So far local Aboriginal bush trackers have been involved in trying to help find the little girl and police have also said they have questioned all locally registered sex offenders.
A huge £540,000 reward, the equivalent to a million Australian dollars, has been put up by West Australian Premier Mark McGowan for information.

I don't doubt when the name Dr Graham Hill (former employee of CEOP) is repeatedly seen, people will be curious to know who he is when specifically named as an authority on missing children, in this particular case - Madeleine McCann.
Dr Graham Hill was seconded to Portugal by the CEOP early May 2007, ostensibly to 'assist' the Portuguese police with their investigation into Madeleine's disappearance.

What makes the perpetrators of child sexual abuse think and act the way they do? For many this question is unimaginable but for professionals involved in child protection the answer could provide that important clue, that vital final behavioural indicator that enables intervention before a young life is irreparably damaged. Paradoxically an in-depth understanding of perpetrator behaviour can also enable professionals working with survivors to get closer to the victim experience.
All the one-day courses shown below aim to explore and explain the psychological and criminological aspects of the behaviour of perpetrators of child sexual abuse. If he's touting for business, which I strongly suspect, this is not going in his favour. To repeatedly claim a three year old child was snatched/abducted/kidnapped, flying in the face of the evidence documented by the Portuguese investigation, a credible criminologist does not make!
I find the CEOP and other such organisations said to be working for the protection of children, very very worrying. The case of Madeleine McCann for example, professionals working in the field of child protection shouldn't be rubbing shoulders with the client, in this case the prime suspects.
The word gatekeeper springs to mind.

Cleo abducter ‘may have stalked family’ (continued…)
Maddy McCann top cop Jim Gamble says a “pivotal point” of the case was the fact her sleeping bag was missing from the campsite.
He explained you would expect the bag to be left in the tent if little Cleo had wandered off alone.
“On a campsite you can hear a pin drop in the middle of the night,” Mr Gamble told The Sun Online.
“If you drag out a child – even if they have their sleeping bag over their head – the child will begin to scream.
“To get the child out of the tent without drawing any attention is a really difficult thing to do.”
He explained: “If it is someone they know – and potentially trust – a child would be much more compliant.
“If a child is shocked out of their sleep by movement by someone they don’t know they are much more likely to cry out – no question.” - [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Cleo abducter ‘may have stalked family for days’
MADELEINE McCann top cop Jim Gamble has said missing Cleo Smith likely would have known her abductor who may be someone who was following the family ahead of their trip.
Mr Gamble – who was the senior child protection officer in the UK investigation into the Maddie case – explained the chance of the girl being taken away silently by a total stranger in the middle of the night was low.
The police were called around three hours after she was found to be missing as the family had hoped the girl was just hiding nearby – searching the area with other campers.
Mr Gamble told The Sun Online he fears this delay could make things difficult for cops as key evidence such as footprints or tire tracks may have been accidentally destroyed or lost during the initial search.
And he explained the police will be being looking “backwards and forwards” to piece together what happened before the disappearance that may lead them to the potential abductor.
He suggested that if Cleo has been taken – it is unlikely it was by somebody who she hadn’t met her before. - [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

I hope they find her alive and well.
Calling her the Aussie Madeleine McCann and showing photo's of Christian Brueckner is outrageous.
What has "top cop" Jim Gamble and Graham Hill got to do with anything, apart from being involved in the disappearance of Madeleine, it's not as if they solved the mystery.

They like to leap in where children are involved, don't they? Gamble's advert, no, sorry, I meant investigation, of child brothels tells us quite a lot, imo.

A twist in the search for four-year-old Cleo Smith, who police fear may have been abducted while camping in remote Western Australia, has led forensic police to shift their attention to her family home.
WA investigators, who are now exploring whether she was stalked in the days before she disappeared, have forensically examined the family home for signs of a stalker.
The police forensic team spent hours dusting for fingerprints along the front fence of the family’s Carnarvon residence and taking photographs in the backyard.

The press have to continue a story after 3 days. In all reality any press fodder after 3 days is a journalist trying their best, embellishing or going down a rabbit hole until anything new comes to light. Almost no journalists are immediate investigative reporters. What has not been said is more important that what has been said if 3 days more than the disappearance.

FAMILIAR FACE Madeleine McCann top cop says Cleo Smith ‘may have KNOWN her abductor who may have stalked family for days’
Henry Holloway

MADELEINE McCann top cop Jim Gamble has said missing Cleo Smith likely would have known her abductor who may be someone who was following the family ahead of their trip.
Mr Gamble - who was the senior child protection officer in the UK investigation into the Maddie case - explained the chance of the girl being taken away silently by a total stranger in the middle of the night was low.
Australian cops are now treating the case as an abduction after the four-year-old vanished from the family tent in the Outback last Saturday.
Her mum Ellie last saw her at 1.30am when she gave her a drink of water, and then her and her partner Jake Gliddon awoke to find the tot missing - sparking a frantic search.
The police were called around three hours after she was found to be missing as the family had hoped the girl was just hiding nearby - searching the area with other campers.
Mr Gamble told The Sun Online he fears this delay could make things difficult for cops as key evidence such as footprints or tire tracks may have been accidentally destroyed or lost during the initial search.
And he explained the police will be being looking "backwards and forwards" to piece together what happened before the disappearance that may lead them to the potential abductor.
He suggested that if Cleo has been taken - it is unlikely it was by somebody who she hadn't met her before.
The top cop also added the "pivotal point" of the case was the fact her sleeping bag was missing from the campsite.
He explained you would expect the bag to be left in the tent if little Cleo had wandered off alone.
"On a campsite you can hear a pin drop in the middle of the night," Mr Gamble told The Sun Online.
"If you drag out a child - even if they have their sleeping bag over their head - the child will begin to scream.
"To get the child out of the tent without drawing any attention is a really difficult thing to do."
He explained: "If it is someone they know - and potentially trust - a child would be much more compliant.
"If a child is shocked out of their sleep by movement by someone they don't know they are much more likely to cry out - no question."
However, he added it may also be possible Cleo may have been taken in her sleep while wrapped up in her sleeping bag almost as a "sack" to restrain her.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
But being able to do this without any disturbance with her parents in the tent's other compartment would be "highly unusual".
Mr Gamble, who is now the CEO of the INEQE Safeguarding Group, told The Sun Online cops will be looking into anyone who may have taken an interest in Cleo in the weeks leading up to her disappearance.
It is possible someone may have "engaged" with the girl and plotted the abduction, potentially following the family to the remote campsite.
He said: "[Police] will be looking at unusual activity leading up to the holiday involving the child.
"They will be considering anyone who had been reportedly behaving strangely with the child and anyone who tried to engage with her.
"They will be looking at the possibility of someone who took an interest in the child which led them to follow them and potentially abduct the child."
But the top cop explained the first part of the investigation for the police will be the matter of "clearing the ground beneath their feet".
Cops will be seeking to rule out those close to the child or close to the scene before looking at potential suspects.
WA Police have already said everyone on the campground is being treated as a "person of interest".
And cops are also probing up to 20 sex offenders who are known to be in the area.
Mr Gamble added police are also likely looking into if there is a history of theft from tents in the area, which could suggest an opportunistic snatch in a "moment of panic".
However, he added the campsite is a "long way to go to steal from a tent".
Mr Gamble said key evidence could be held in holiday photos taken by the family or other people on the site - which he described as "establishing digital collateral".
"Sometimes they can inadvertently capture a clue in the background," he said.
And these could help create a "photographic timeline", verify everyone is where they said they were, and look for any suspicious individuals or vehicles.
And mobile phone data will be being scoured in the hunt as they look for anyone who may have entered the area and possibly made late night phone calls.
Cleo's abduction as her parents slept is now the leading line of inquiry for Aussie cops - and one officer yesterday chillingly said they are looking for a "body".
Mr Gamble believes it is "highly unlikely" that a four-year-old would simply roll up her sleeping bag and wander off alone.
"On the best day with a fair wind, a child of that age can probably walk around 4km (2.5 miles) - any parent or grandparent knows there comes a point where a child will not walk any further," he told The Sun Online.
"And the terrain there is pretty rugged to say the least."
Police will therefore be searching a 4km bubble around the campsite and attempting to rule out any natural threats such as animals, like snakes and dingoes.
And if you work on the assumption Cleo is simply "missing" rather than "abducted" - Mr Gamble fears the "critical" point as to how long the girl could survive in the wild alone is almost passed.
'AUSSIE MADDIE'
"Statistically, the likelihood of a positive result diminishes every hour - and that is not to say some children do not get lost or abducted and then turn up again," he said.
“But when you get to the sixth day, we are at a pretty critical point - surviving beyond that point becomes very difficult.
“And beyond that, if you have been abducted then it's down to the intention of the abductor if you have been harmed.
“But you never want to remove hope, hope is what keeps everybody going.”
He advised parents concerned about their very young children to potentially use devices like Apple AirTags sewn into their clothes to keep track of them.
The case has shocked Australia, being dubbed the "Aussie Maddie" due to the similarities to the famous 2007 case where the four-year-old Brit vanished while on holiday with her parents in Praia Da Luz.
And a $1million reward is now being offered for any information on the girl's whereabouts as cops fear she now could be anywhere in Australia.
Deputy police commissioner Col Blanch said: "Cleo disappeared from her family's tent, despite an extensive land, sea and air search, we have not yet located her body."
"The law enforcement chief said that if the little girl had left her tent by herself then she would have been found by now."
"That leads us to believe she was taken," Blanch added.
He later said police are keeping an open mind and would not comment further on whether it was likely the girl has been "buried in the area".
Detective Superintendent Rod Wilde said police "hold great fears for her safety".
He added: "The information we have received, we have not been able to locate her, we imagine we would locate her given the amount of resources and the detailed search that is taking place, that leads us to believe that she was taken from [the campsite]."
The family's camp where Cleo was last seen is located 47 miles from Carnarvon and 544 miles from Perth.

Four key clues
POLICE searching for missing Cleo Smith are faced with four crucial lines of enquiry that suggest she may have been snatched.
Missing sleeping bag: Not only was there no sign of Cleo when her parents woke, but her red and black sleeping bag was also gone. Experts question whether she would have taken it with her if she had simply wandered off on her own.
Police released a photo of a similar bag, along with Cleo's distinctive pink pyjamas. They urged local residents to check their bins in case evidence had been dumped inside.
Tent zip "too high": The door flap on the family tent was had been zipped so high it would have been impossible for a four-year-old to reach, said Inspector Jon Munday.
He added: “The positioning of that zipper for the flap is one of the circumstances that has caused us to have grave concerns for Cleo’s safety. That tent has been thoroughly examined by our forensic team.”
"Screeching car tyres": Deputy Police Commissioner Darryl Gaunt confirmed cops were looking into a camper’s report of a car heard screeching about 3am - 90 minutes after Cleo's mum last saw her in the tent.
“It’s a little bit unsubstantiated but we’re not ruling it out,” he said, adding it was just one of several reports from people who noticed odd activities and noises overnight.
Usual suspects: Police said between ten and 20 sex offenders were known to be in the area around the Blowholes campsite, near Carnarvon, Western Australia. Detectives said they have spoken to them all to check their movements, and none are suspects at this stage.
They also conceded said any kidnapper could have left the area before police set up roadblocks.

" Holiday photos " again Jim ? What happened to the ones you asked be sent to you 14 years ago , never been seen have they ?
Why are all the cops who were " involved " in the McCann case referred to as " top cops"? Apart from Amaral of course !
Cleo is NOT the " Aussie Maddie " she's a little girl in her own right who deserves that dignity . Stop dragging Madeleine into every missing child case , makes headlines though doesn't it and that's all you care about !

I was thinking exactly the same about Jim Russian Roulette and his obsession with photographs, like who's lurking!
Things have been said about the 'Last Photograph' having been tampered in order to mislead by a family member, he of deviant art and quick sands notoriety.
There is of course a distinct possibility that the CEOP were involved, maybe a slip of the finger when fiddling with photographic evidence.
And then there is family friend, Jon Corner (another one who's dropped the h), who for some strange reason, possessed a portfolio of Madeleine images.
I digress!

I'd like to see photo's of the tent, whoever took Cleo, unzipped the compartment she was in and zipped it up again after removing her.
According to her Mother, quoted in the Daily Mail,
"Ms Smith's voice faltered as she relayed the moment she unzipped the tent to discover her four-year-old was missing.

If you watch the video footage again there is no meaning, no feeling, no expression, no emotion - the woman can't even feign distress.
She talks roughly about the lay-out of the tent, there was a divider, Cleo was sleeping where the zipper tent entrance was.
So many parallels with Kate McCann's version of events and her use of language, I'll wager the mother has been watching the case very carefully in preparation of her debut before the camera.
This case stinks.

Kate had inspired many like minded mothers. Both have no maternal bones in their body..Verdi wrote:If you watch the video footage again there is no meaning, no feeling, no expression, no emotion - the woman can't even feign distress.

WA Police forensics officers gathering evidence of possible scoping at Cleo Smith's family home in Carnarvon

A week after four-year-old Cleo Smith disappeared, police have turned their attention to her family's home.
A forensic squad has been dusting the fence and windows of the Carnarvon home on Saturday morning.
Officers have also been taking photos of sections of the fence.
A police source has told the ABC that officers were only gathering evidence on the outside of the property at this stage.
It's understood police are investigating the possibility someone had been scoping the house in the days and weeks prior to Cleo’s disappearance.
The ABC is not suggesting that Cleo's family were in any way involved in her disappearance.
Children's play equipment, and a toy hanging on a clothesline, can be seen in the yard.
The family had spent the week staying at the campsite where Cleo disappeared from, but it is understood they are now staying elsewhere.
The WA government has posted a $1 million reward for information about her disappearance.
Whole community feeling sombre
Locals in the tight-knit community of Carnarvon, about 900 kilometres north of Perth, said the mood remained sombre in the town.
Within days of Cleo going missing, posters with her image were plastered on almost every shopfront in the town.
Many shops in Perth now also display posters with pictures of Cleo.
"There's so much local concern and everyone's just jumped on board to do what they can," Carnarvon local Donna said.
"The whole community's feeling it."
John and Pam had been travelling along the WA coast and left Carnarvon only a few hours after Cleo was first reported missing.
"An hour up the road, the first fuel station, it was already posted on their fuel pumps and we saw it continually until we got to Karratha," John said.

Police on Friday issued a plea for businesses — including bakeries and children's clothing stores within 1,000 kilometres of where Cleo was last seen — to provide CCTV and dashcam footage.
The plea came as the search around the campsite ended after police on horseback and officers on drones conducted a final scan of the area.
Western Australia's Deputy Premier, Roger Cook, also encouraged people to come forward with any information they had.
"Think about what you've seen and heard, anything unusual," he said.
"The information you provide might seem trivial and not important, but it all goes to providing a picture for the police so that they can be successful in their investigations."
He said it was a difficult time for the entire community.
"Our heart goes out to Cleo's family and the whole community who are hurting today," he said.
"We just wish the very best for little Cleo."

So they were with their new baby, and Cleo, not his daughter, was in her own room? There is a man in Cleo's life who is not her father, wouldn't you think they would want her to feel included? Perhaps I'm over sensitive.
