Not one penny spent in the true sense of the fund - aside from an inordinate sum of money given to private detectives in return for nothing!
Ten out of ten for transparency nil out of ten for productivity.
It's all different wording for PR (Phony Rip-off). Why would any parent grieving for the loss of a child require the services of PR and legal representation and campaigning?
The fund has always been more about a protection racket than finding a missing child.

Re: The Find Madeleine Fund
Just been having a nose around the Find Madeleine site to see if anything's changed, was reminded of this wishy-washy description of a missing three year old child - Madeleine McCann!

A three year old child enjoys running and swimming and football? Just like a three year old child loves Harry Potter and Doctor Who?
Unbelievable!
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
She has many friends who obviously miss her dearly. Despite her young age it often felt like Madeleine had been on this earth before.

She enjoys running and swimming and is an Everton fan like her mum and grandad.

Yeah
Oh, we about to get it just a lil hot and sweaty in this mu'fucka (oh, baby)
Ladies let's go
Soldiers let's go (Dolls)
Let me talk to y'all and just you know give you a little situation
Listen (fellas)
You see this shit get hot
Every time I come through
When I step up in the spot (are you ready?)
Make the place sizzle like a summertime cookout
Prowl for the best chick, yes I'm on the lookout (let's dance)
Slow banging shorty like a belly dancer with it"
or perhaps this one ?
I don't need a man to make it happen
I get off being free
I don't need a man to make me feel good
I get off doing my thing
I don't need a ring around my finger
To make me feel complete
So let me break it down
I can get off when you ain't around
Oh!"
Well I suppose it is called "modern parenting"
I was brought up on Twinkle twinkle little star.

If it wasn't that one, it was 'Doncha wish ya girlfriend was hot like me?' Equally poetic and charming.

I struggle to understand how these songs can be available to children anyway. If they were a movie they would be X rated and a magazine would be top shelf, over 18s only. How do these so called songs get away with it?

Revolting, isn't it? To think parents take their offspring to concerts by these bands, and let them dress in similar clothes.

Re: The Find Madeleine Fund
Three months extension applied for and received, presumably citing Covid issues.
We’ll just have to contain our excitement till early April now, by which time we may (?) have had the result of the McCann et Healy ECHR case against Portugal, if that doesn't get another Covid extension as well.
due by 31 March 2022
Last accounts made up to 31 March 2020
...................................................................................
Companies House are now allowing companies to apply for a three-month extension for accounts filing deadlines that fall after 5 April in certain circumstances.
Companies that are eligible and cite issues around COVID-19 in their application will be granted an extension.
Companies that have already had their accounts deadline extended may not be eligible, as the law only allows a maximum filing period of 12 months.
It’s important to check if you’re eligible for an extension and to apply before your deadline. You must file your accounts on time or you’ll receive a late filing penalty. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] to check your eligibility and apply for an extension.

Re: The Find Madeleine Fund
Well, well! They applied for and were granted the three month Covid extension and then whacked the accounts into Companies House on 24th December anyway. Maybe they thought people wouldn't notice.
Nothing of note to see of course, with no income and expenditure accounts as usual, not that they would have much in them anyway.
£2712 from the bewk.
Other than that they moved £152k 'cash at bank' into investments and revalued the investment portfolio, up by £146k.
Total assets now stand at £931k, up from £773k.

Huge red flag - the money intended to search for a child has been tied up in investments. How is this aiding the search?

Well you see .... when no longer any official force is proactively searching for Maaadlin, they have put some fund money aside to continue 'the search' themselves.
By investing they will accrue interest to swell the fund - good luck with that one! What about gold bullion - that's quite the mode at present isn't it, they can stash it for safe keeping in the lawless hills of the Algarve.

Restricted funds £634,444
Cash at bank £87,526
I would love to know what the restricted funds are supposed to be for and what the investments are.

Thank you for that ^^^ Doug D!
I received the customary update notification by email but felt too mean to splash out the £2 fee.

Re: The Find Madeleine Fund
'Restricted funds represent donations received towards the direct costs of the search for, and the investigation into the disappearance of, Madeleine.'
'Donations' from the book sales go into the restricted section.
Fixed assets, assuming them to be various stocks and shares, yielding around 3%, looks about right for the dividend figure.
..................................
No need to pay anything Verdi. Just go to the Companies House site & put in the company number and you can get them straight up.

Re: The Find Madeleine Fund
Well Done [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] on presenting the 'Find Madeleine Fund' accounts
This limited company (note not a charity) does not seem to be trading in a traditional sense with an income stream, cost of sales and gross margin, but rather is now more clearly acting as a family trust, holding assets and investments in a tax efficient way. See 'restricted funds' and 'investment managers fee'.
The trust can then distribute the 'funds' at a later date, eg on retirement of the McCanns, when the trustees recognise their reduced personal earnings and their associated lower UK income tax thresholds.
All legal and this trust fund methodology is used by most high net worth individuals.
If makes better sense if we now refer to the fund as 'the Madeleine McCann investment fund', the beneficiaries of which are the McCann family.

Re: The Find Madeleine Fund
The Missing People website has moved on a little. It is still all pink and mauve in appearance and it still doesn't make much sense to anyone but it did seem to take a ride on the back of a missing three year old to revive and establish itself as the lobbying, go to charity.
It is often said 'look at the money'
It is my opinion and it's only an opinion that Kate and Gerry Mccann cost very little to promote this charity. There were donations pouring into the Find Madeleine Fund which unsuspecting people didn't realize was a limited liability company.
So take a step back and take a look at who benefitted from these enterprises. It was most certainly not Madeleine Mccann. It was most certainly not missing people in UK because the Missing People charity has never once declared a success.

There is a bigger piece on this, somewhere in the forum but in 2006 Missing People charity were in financial difficulty. There is a quote somewhere that states, we need a boost, a new beginning. There was a complete change of directors, trustees etc. and of course, the boost was Madeleine.
Also in 2006, we had Blair being questioned under the cash for honours case and Murdochs' NOTW failing fast due to the internet.
Gerry is pictured working alongside child abduction fraudster Ernie Allen of NCMEC whilst visiting the Whitehouse. John McCann assisted Missing People in some event at Marble Arch and Kate, according to Gerry, didn't have a title yet. Soon the prime suspect in a missing child case became ambassador for Missing people charity.
If that's not a case of "all in it together", what is?
