The press silence is so profound that it amounts to a lockdown. The only times you see this sort of behaviour is in totalitarian regimes OR where people are recruited, then deliberately compromised before being moved into positions of power where they can easily be manipulated by the faceless ones.

Not so much as a "Fresh Heartache for Kate and Gerry McCann" headline anywhere on the main news channels!
Never mind, we'll get the word out anyway regarding their REJECTED APPEAL, and the media can stick the rest of their Fake News stories where the sun don't shine.

Re: **updated** Appeal rejected. McCann's request for annulment of the Supreme Court's decision
Let’s rewind back to 2010, where all this began. With hindsight, one can compare what was said and done back then, with today’s outcome/s:
The McCanns’ petition for a review of the Maddie case already has 31,000 signatures Público

Kate and Gerry McCann are circulating a petition which they intend to use to make the English and Portuguese governments review the Maddie case. So far they have managed 31,000 signatures and intend to reach 100,000. In the press conference they gave this afternoon in Lisbon, Kate and Gerry have assured that they will not lower their arms and that there is important information, to which they do not have access, that is in the possession of the British and Portuguese authorities.
The McCanns believe the gathering of the data held by the English and Portuguese authorities will allow the discovery of what has happened to Madeleine, their daughter, who disappeared three and a half years ago. With the petition, that is available online and in paper, Kate and Gerry expect to get both the English and Portuguese governments to cooperate, gathering and analysing all the informations.
“If we don’t have the help of the authorities, we will have to continue the search ourselves,” said Kate. Holding hands with stern expressions, the McCanns highlighted, several times during the press conference, their intention of not giving up until they know what has happened to Maddie, who would be seven-years-old today. “It’s like being in a race and not knowing when it will end,” said Gerry.
Despite the “small investigation team”, financed by Maddie’s Fund, the McCanns say that they are “restricted”, in the sense that they do not have “access to all the information the authorities have”.
Regarding the Maddie Fund, the McCanns guarantee that it is not over, despite the decrease in contributions that has been recorded. According to Gerry, the maximum has been done to get financial support. “Every month we have meetings to discuss ways to ensure money”, he explained. “If it wasn’t for the fund, no one would be looking for Madeleine right now”, said Kate.
Regarding the Appellate Court decision of annulling the ban on the sales of Gonçalo Amaral’s book – “The Truth of the Lie” -, the McCanns haven’t said much. According to Gerry, the book “leads one to believe that Maddie is dead, when there is no evidence pointing in that direction”.
Isabel Duarte, the McCann’s lawyer, said that “the appeal to the Supreme (Court of Justice) was delivered on the 5th of November”. This is an exceptional situation, made possible, according to Isabel Duarte, thanks to raising a fundamental argument: “That this book was published and will continue to be published to make money and to deepen my clients pain, and to hinder the investigation relative to Madeleine McCann”.
In the case of the Appellate Court’s decision being upheld, the solution will be to appeal to the international courts.
Gonçalo Amaral’s book is not yet available on the market. “And it won’t be,” stated Isabel Duarte. “I am the trustee of the book and whilst I am not forced to return it, I will not do it in any way, whatsoever. This while there isn’t a final definitive decision.”
End
And the moral of this story is “be careful what you wish for”

MORE MADDIE AGONY Madeleine McCann’s parents Kate and Gerry lose third libel battle to silence cop who claimed they fake her kidnap
Portugal's highest court dismissed Gerry and Kate's bid to overturn a court's ruling that Goncalo Amaral libelled them in tell-all book
By Danny Collins
22nd March 2017, 11:38 am
MADDIE McCann’s parents have lost a third and ‘final’ appeal against claims made in a book by the policeman who oversaw the hunt for their daughter, it is claimed.
Portugal’s highest court dismissed Gerry and Kate’s bid to overturn a court’s ruling that Goncalo Amaral had not libelled them in a tell-all book.
Gerry and Kate McCann are reported to have lost a third appeal over claims a Portuguese cop libelled them in a book about the investigation into their missing daughter Maddie
Amaral published "The Truth of the Lie" in 2008 which led to a TV documentary
"The Truth Of The Lie" alleged the youngster had died and Kate and Gerry McCann covered it up.
Supreme court judge Dr Jorge Manuel Roque Nogueira dismissed the McCann’s claim on Wedneday, Portugal Resident reported today.
It is the third time a Portuguese court has upheld Amaral’s right to freedom of expression.
There is no higher Portuguese court to which Maddie’s parents can now take their claim.
---------------------------
"........are REPORTED to have LOST.........."?
They LOST again............PERIOD!
"Supreme court judge Dr Jorge Manuel Roque Nogueira dismissed the McCann’s claim on Wedneday"
(Can't get the 'staff'?)
WEDNEDAY?
Yep, and on 'TURDDAY'...........they still will have LOST!
-----------------------
'adding' bits all the time,
In a nine-page legal complaint they had sought to invalidate the ruling accusing the Portuguese judges of “contradictions” and acting “frivolously”.
In the book, it is claimed Maddie died in the family’s holiday flat in Praia Da Luz and her parents faked her abduction to cover up the tragedy.
The book was released just three days after Gerry and Kate were told their status as formal suspects had been lifted in July 2008.
Amaral is understood to have earned £344,000 from his book before it was initially banned.
and 'more'
The McCann's could now face a hefty legal bill after the court wrangle with Amaral.
Speaking after the court found in favour of the Portuguese ex-cop last month a family friend labelled the decision "disappointing".
They told The Sun: “It was never about winning big libel damages but all about them silencing him to stop them spouting his untruthful and malicious lies.
“It has always been more of a personal battle and they are bitterly disappointed they have lost but not totally surprised.”
(TWO 'mentions' for GA's book! The McS must be 'furious and fuming' at that!)

Awesome, & Justice was swift this time. Congratulations Snr. Amaral.
Not that i thought that McCann bird (request for SC annulment) would fly.
I'm sure Portugal is thoroughly sick of the McC's by now. The McC's need to get it that this is the end of the road for them as far as Potugal is concerned.

"VOWS TO FIGHT ON"
Who are they going to 'fight on' with? Dr Amaral is out of the picture now.
Maybe they could fight Kandohla & Mitchell for planting false stories, and Rudd, May, Wall & Dick for hampering the search for Maddie after spending millions and still not coming up with anything?

Or maybe they could fight the PJ for shelving the investigation which hampered the search for Maddie?
No, wait... they could have (for the cost of a stamp on an envelope) requested that investigation remain open but they didn't.
Bummer.

'more'
Three-year-old Maddie disappeared from her holiday apartment on the Algarve as her parents ate at a nearby restaurant in 2007.
Millions of pounds have been injected into the hunt for the missing tot since but she has never been found.
Earlier this month it was announced British police were being handed more money to probe an "important" new lead.
-----------------------------------------
Yep! The 'important' NEW, and very 'last', 'lead' ex MET Commissioner BHH 'told' us all 'about'......... in April 2016!
“It has always been more of a personal battle ..........."
And THERE you have it, in 'print'!
Watch out ex DCI Redwood and EX MPC Howe..........they'll be after 'you two' for 'saying' that ' Madeleine might be dead, or even murdered'
It's 'personal' you'll 'understand'
You 'two' have 'hindered, hampered and harmed' the 'search' for a 'live' Madeleine with your 'outrageous' statements!
(and stopped people, possibly, 'donating' to our private plc)

Re: **updated** Appeal rejected. McCann's request for annulment of the Supreme Court's decision
I wonder whether the delay was due to a last minute discussion with Madeleine's guardian?
After all, it is not in Madeleine's interest that we all stop looking for her because people start believing Mr Amaral. Maybe the court was asked to act in Madeleine's best interest?

That won't make any difference - they seem quite happy to go to court on the basis of things that won't stand up in court. Like claiming to be depressed without having any medical reports to back it up; putting forward a 'psychologist' to make up for said lack of medical reports, only for it to transpire that he was a family friend who wasn't a psychologist at all and hadn't even read the final report; claiming they were proved innocent by the archival report when it states no such thing.
I don't think it would be a stretch too far for them to claim that the PJ shelved the investigation against their will and never told them they could have it reopened at any time. Or they'll start off about how the investigation was shelved because their friends wouldn't take part in the reconstruction and that wasn't their fault, but the PJ shelved it anyway.
On the other hand, I think they have it in for Goncalo Amaral personally, rather than the PJ as a whole. They're more likely to come up with an entirely new accusation to level at him.

On the other hand, I think they have it in for Goncalo Amaral personally, rather than the PJ as a whole. They're more likely to come up with an entirely new accusation to level at him.
Ding Ding! Round

Kate and Gerry McCann have lost the third and final court case to silence a police officer who claims they faked the disappearance of their daughter Maddie.
Maddie: The Truth of the Lie was penned by Gonçalo Amaral, the policeman who headed up the hunt for Madeleine McCann after she vanished from a Portuguese apartment.
A supreme court judge ruled in favour of the officer, upholding what he called his right to freedom of expression.

Furious Gerry and Kate made it clear through lawyers that they strongly disagreed with the judges' 'erroneous' premise the lifting of their status as 'arguidos' or formal suspects did not mean they were innocent of any involvement in their daughter's May 3, 2007 disappearance.
Madeline McCann who went missing in 2007
Portugal's Supreme Court issued its devastating put-down in February when it backed Amaral over his hurtful 2008 book The Truth of the Lie in which he claimed the McCanns faked Madeleine's abduction to cover up her death in their Algarve holiday apartment.
Judges angered the McCanns by claiming the July 2008 archiving of the first Portuguese probe into their daughter's disappearance 'was determined by the fact that public prosecutors hadn't managed to obtain sufficient evidence of the practice of crimes' by them.
The couple's fight-back was laid out in a nine-page complaint.
It was lodged with the Supreme Court in February in a bid to invalidate its ruling rejecting the McCanns' libel appeal against Amaral and the makers of a TV documentary based on his book.
The document, drafted by the McCanns' Portuguese lawyer Isabel Duarte and her colleague Ricardo Correia, says: 'The appellants understand the archiving of the case took place because during the inquiry, sufficient evidence had been collected to show the 'arguidos' had not committed any crime.'
They said the removal of the McCanns' 'arguido' status had legally binding connotations and claimed the Supreme Court judges' argument 'lacked foundation and could be easily altered'.
Accusing them of acting 'frivolously' and contradicting themselves with their statements about the reasons for the 2008 probe archive, they added: 'It cannot be stated that it is not acceptable that the archiving of the case is considered the equivalent to proof of innocence.'
Mrs Duarte confirmed at the time the McCanns had lodged a formal complaint against the latest court ruling, although she declined to go into detail about why and how they were fighting it.
This has now been ruled upon, and they lost again.
Kate and Gerry McCann have lost the third and final court case to silence a police officer
Just last week the parents of tragic Maddie faced fresh heartbreak after a criminal investigator made an outrageous claim that their daughter 'died in the apartment'.
Moita Flores, a Portuguese crime expert, has lashed out at Kate, 49, and Gerry McCann, 48, as they approach the 10th anniversary of Maddie's disappearance.
Mr Flores, who was once involved with the Policia Judiciaria - who conducted the initial search - said: 'Maddie died in that apartment, I have no doubt.'
His outburst was reported on a Portuguese website and he questioned: 'Why this child when there are so many others who have disappeared?'
Madeleine McCann disappeared from apartment 5a at the Ocean Complex in Praia da Luz in May 2007.
Gerry and Kate still hold hope that their eldest daughter, who would now be 13, is still alive despite being missing for close to a decade.
This could be Operation Grange's final year of searching for the missing child.
They have been concentrating on the notion that she was sold by child traffickers – her parents' and their first team of private investigators' initial hunch – and could still be alive.
So far the inquiry, launched in May 2011 on orders of then Prime Minister David Cameron, has cost more than £12million with topped-up funds set to run out at the end of March.

Re: **updated** Appeal rejected. McCann's request for annulment of the Supreme Court's decision
But the tone has changed, dramatically. Dr Amaral is no longer the "disgraced cop" etc. He's now Gonçalo Amaral, "the policeman who headed up the hunt for Madeleine McCann".....and "A supreme court judge ruled in favour of the officer, upholding what he called his right to freedom of expression".jeanmonroe wrote:Here comes the Daily Fail's 'take'

In the last hour the huge thread on the Digital Spy forum that had run for over 700 pages has just been closed!
I wonder what the reason was?
