Fund accounts 2016 - Late again!!!
The statutory accounts were due to be filed at Companies House on Dec 31st
They are late again.
That means another penalty of £150 for Madeleines' diminishing fund (that is assuming that our corrupt government hasn't exempted the McCanns from these penalties that every other company has to pay)
I am assuming that since there has been no private investigation this year and there are no investigators to pay, the only transactions this year will be the royalties from Kates' book.
Of course, there will be the costs of the McCann v Amaral trial, but them they are private costs, aren't they?.
I am no psychic but I bet that we will see a resignation of the auditors again this year.
Will post up the accounts here when the are ready.

Re: Fund accounts 2016 - Late again!!!
Probably not actually late.
As in previous years they have always been lodged at Companies House in the last week in December (as per the dated Companies House barcodes on the cover sheet) and it takes Companies House a week or so to actually process the vast amount of accounts that are similarly filed.
I doubt that this year will be any different.

It usually shows up In red that the documents have been submitted but not yet processed.
They may have been delivered very late on 31st Dec, in which case they should up as being received sometime tomorrow.
According to Companies House Beta the 2014 and 2015 accounts were filed on 15th January and 7th January respectively
Re: Fund accounts 2016 - Late again!!!
Typical - always a day late and a dollar short. It will be interesting to see how many dollars short this year - especially campaign and merchandise costs.sharonl wrote:Doug D wrote:Probably not actually late.

Somehow I don't think it will be of sufficient detail to warrant too much attention by Enid O'Dowd.

Sorry but you’re wrong.
Companies House receive a huge amount of last minute submissions over the Christmas holiday period which don’t get processed, just dated and bar coded.
The processing team then work through them at their leisure, at which time a new date appears on the system, with a message about awaiting copying, they then get sent to the scanning team after which time they are available for everyone to see.
The 2014 accounts were submitted on 31st December and 2015 ones on the 23rd, thereby not incurring any ‘late’ penalties.

Sorry copies not coming up. They were the front pages of the accounts showing the Companies House bar codes and dates.
They can be seen at

Re: Fund accounts 2016 - Late again!!!
Sorry Doug - Companies House are showing the 2014 accounts being filed on 15 January. Where are you getting your dates from? Also, where did you get the information that no penalty was applied?

Hopefully might have cracked it with screen grabs!
Front pages of the accounts show the Companies House barcodes and dates, showing they were received at Companies House in 'good' (only just) time.

Re: Fund accounts 2016 - Late again!!!
Blimey, that was quick for Companies House.
Accounts signed off 21/12/16 and lodged 22/12/16, so as usual, not late.
Funds dropped by £32k, with £490k cash put into something longer term as ‘Fixed Asset - investments’.
That’ll cause some speculation! (A fixed term bond would still be classed as ‘Current Asset’ not ‘Fixed Asset’)
As with last year no idea of income or expenditure figures.
For what is effectively a publically funded entity, this lack of ‘openness’ is a disgrace.

Hopefully getting to grips with posting screen grabs now.
Only bit of the three pages of accounts showing anything at all, but that's not much.

Re: Fund accounts 2016 - Late again!!!
So all that's happened is that they have taken almost a half million from the bank and invested it. But where have they invested it? And what is the return on the investment?
Re: Fund accounts 2016 - Late again!!!
What did they say a while back about transferring money from the official fund to another account to continue 'The Search' ? At least they have been honest for oncesharonl wrote:So all that's happened is that they have taken almost a half million from the bank and invested it. But where have they invested it? Re: Fund accounts 2016 - Late again!!!
A transfer to a Fixed Asset is not the place to put accessible funds that might be needed in the short term for 'the search'.
Pure speculation, but it's an odd amount, not dissimilar to property values in a certain road in Rothley.
We also have no idea of any income received (there must surely have been something), but anything that did come in has gone out again, plus £32k, although this includes creditors reduced by £6k.

The money has been transferred from the official fund to investments unknown to us - are we going to see where these funds have been invested or how they will be used? I doubt it.
Re: Fund accounts 2016 - Late again!!!
Mmm seems they are good at "transferring".
Is it possible an "Amaral fund" ?
Let see hope so.

Re: Fund accounts 2016 - Late again!!!
It looks like the McCanns have been granted an extra month for filing the 2017 accounts - they are usually due within 9 months of the year end but this is extended to 31 January [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Re: Fund accounts 2016 - Late again!!!
Maybe the auditors pinched the abacus when they cleared the desk after being sacked resigning.
Seriously though - I reckon the whole show is in the process of being wound down. The next few months I think will see the end of the Find Madeleine website, the Fund, laboured anniversary features and any other publicity stunts.
They must realise the celebrity show is over for them.

Oh no! What will become of that poor failing charity Missing People without their greatest ever marketing tool? Who will pay their wages now?
And what will the failing newspapers do without the greatest story ever told? Murdochs' empire is already failing just as it was in 2007.
Re: Fund accounts 2016 - Late again!!!
Only 1 day to go and still no sign of the fund accounts, they have already been given a months extension - what's going on? Why the hold up?
Re: Fund accounts 2016 - Late again!!!
If they follow previous years, they will present them tomorrow (can be done on-line). They will get date stamped by Companies House to show received on time and get processed in the next week or so.
(Not that they will show anything, apart from how much is left.)
I don't think they even need an audit anymore, following more relaxation of rules.
Complete disgrace for what was a publicly funded 'non-charity'. I can't imagine even the Mc's would have envisaged such a relaxation of rules in their wildest dreams when the Limited Company was first set up.
First of all they managed to drop off the income & expenditure accounts, and now pretty much nothing needs to be shown.

That's on the Beta. They are available on the Co. House Webcheck now but they're going to tell us very little.

There is a provision in the accounts to pay their lawyer Isabel Duarte £51,000.
That should please people who believed their donations were to 'search for Madeleine'.

Re: Fund accounts 2016 - Late again!!!
Other creditors include costs which relate to work which was carried out by the Portuguese advocate, Isable Duarte over a number of years relating to the libel action brought by Gerald and Kate McCann against the discredited Portuguese detective Goncala [sic] Amaral (over claims made in his book), his publishers and the firm that produced a television documentary and the subsequent DVD. The libel action reached the Supreme Court in Portugal with judgement [sic] given against Gerald and Kate. The case has been referred to the European Court of Human Rights ("ECHR") on an application submitted by the advocate's firm, IDLei.
The ECHR will provide a written judgement [sic] on the case, the timescale of which is not currently known.

"Fixed assets investments" £582,090.
Is that property investments?

Good grief, how can they get away with this, it is outrageous.
A search fund for Madeleine McMoney! ?
Sickening.
As for discredited Mr Amaral... how very dare they!
I concur the ECHR is all about delaying tactics.. have they no shame?
