Re: Fund accounts 2016 - Late again!!!
Interesting.
Available funds of £713,000 of which £547,000 are restricted funds yet there are fixed asset investments of £582,000
In other words, the restricted funds are largely tied up in a fixed asset investment.
I would to know what restrictions were on on these funds and what the investment is. Have these restricted funds been used for the purpose in which they were intended?

NickE wrote:"Fixed assets investments" £582,090.
Is that property investments?
No its listed securities.
I see that Kate & Gerry have charged the fund for travel expenses and "Office and security" costs whatever they are, probably use of their home.
Travel £94
Office and security £225
You would think that they would pay this for the beloved daughter, especially as her fund paid for their mortgage, their top hotels and their legal fees.
Re: Fund accounts 2016 - Late again!!!
I note all pretense about not using the "Find Madeleine" fund for legal fees to protect the "Innocence" of Kate and Gerry is gone by the wayside. Anyone remember the early days when they came out to reassure the public that the fund would not be touched and that Kennedy and other benefactors were happily footing their legal bills. Have these benefactors been experiencing straitened times of late? I would have thought the recent cold snaps would prove a boon for double-glazing.

Fixed assets in this case relates to property, i suspect it relates to rothley towers since they do not have tools relating to their business.
Are they trying to hide money?
If so then the courts will not take lightly to that and it could end up in criminal court

Hobs:
‘Fixed assets in this case relates to property, i suspect it relates to rothley towers since they do not have tools relating to their business’
This was what we suspected last year, but the property was still registered to the parents, so not the case. Some property could be included in the investment portfolio, but from this years accounts much of this is likely to be stocks, shares, bonds etc.
…………………………………………………
Companies House stamp on front dated 31/1/18 so lodged on last possible day to avoid a fine.
JM Griffin shown as director, but accounts for year end 31st March 2017 and he was not appointed until 13th September 2017.
Fixed Assets – Investments
Jiggled about a bit, used most of the cash held previously in the investment portfolio.
The revaluation of £80k accounts for most of the increase from last year, (92k).
Disposals (book value £64k) probably accounted for the £78k cash addition, which has been reinvested in ‘listed investments’.
Current Assets – Cash at bank
£211k, down from £235k
Creditors- falling due within one year
£65k, up from £11k.
Note says that £51k of this ‘includes costs’ incurred by Isabel Duarte over a number of years. Don’t know for sure, but probably most of this figure, as the category has not appeared before.
Provisions for liabilities
Another new category £15k. Not clear what this is, as tax is covered in Income & Expenditure account. Isabel’s costs for ECHR appeal paperwork maybe?
Restricted funds (‘donations received towards the direct costs of the search for and the investigation into the disappearance of Madeleine’) £547k (so ring-fenced away from the Court costs?) (2016 £560k)
(Apparent error in the Balance Sheet, as Note 5 in the accounts actually shows this figure at £541k as £6k has been pushed across to ‘unrestricted’, similarly unrestricted shows as £172k, not £167k)
Unrestricted funds £167k (2016 £185k)
No income and expenditure account of course, but seemingly random note that miniscule amount of costs paid to K & G. I don't know if the point of this is to try and show them in a good light, or it may be a small companies account requirement.
Also a random note that since the accounting date, a further £84k from the book has been ‘donated’ by KM. (According to the front cover of the book, ‘all royalties’ are due to the fund)

Good ol’ Trace at it again.
Lots of money in the fund, only £65k needed to pay for the court costs (bugger the rest of the £0.5m odd costs obviously), so no need for anyone to keep donating!

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]’s parents have nearly £750,000 to pay for a private search for their daughter if the police hunt is axed.
The cash is in the Find Madeleine Fund, made up mainly of donations and profits from mum Kate’s bestselling book on the disappearance.
It is showing a profit of £793,516, but nearly £65,000 has been set aside to pay for expenses and a failed libel battle against a Portuguese ex-detective who accused the parents of accidentally killing Madeleine and hiding her body.
Kate and dad Gerry, both 49, have seven weeks left of guaranteed funding for Scotland Yard’s Operation Grange, due to end after a £11.3million hunt.
Family spokesman Clarence Mitchell said: “The Madeleine Fund gives Kate and Gerry the option to pick up their own inquiries again, if they choose, with private investigators.”
Madeleine, three, vanished from an apartment in Praia da Luz, Portugal, in May 2007 while her parents were eating tapas with pals at a restaurant nearby.
She would now be nearly 15.

Re: Fund accounts 2016 - Late again!!!
Next accounts are due at the original end of December date, so it looks like they applied for and were granted a one-off extension this year.
Even with the months extension they still couldn’t get them right!
due by 31 December 2018
Last accounts made up to 31 March 2017

Fibnally, I do appreciate CM little slip, outing their concern that SY’s OG has just 7 weeks of funding left. Oops.
The McCanns are once again spinning a story in the UK MSM with a planted story from good old Clarence Mitchell, chief media manipulator. They actually need circa £650 k plus costs to pay Detective Amaral after their failed legal action in Portugal. I don’t suppose it was an error in the actualite to drop a decimal point, to setting aside £65K, as even the weary but gullible British public would choke over the true amount. The re-phrase to ‘employing private investigators’ is a nice cover story, as one would expect from these narcissistic liars who never tell the simple truth.Doug D wrote:Good ol’ Trace at it again.

The £65k is the creditors figure from the latest accounts of which £51k ‘includes costs’ incurred by Isabel Duarte over a number of years'.
No mention of the Portuguese court costs they have got to pay which are believed to be in the region of £0.5m.

Re: Fund accounts 2016 - Late again!!!
Looks like they have actually missed the deadline this year as this is showing today:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Traditionally they have crept them in to Companies House by the last available date and they get logged in a few days later, but for this to show up, presumably Companies House have logged all the accounts due 31st December now, so a small fine will become due.
Completely unnecessary and absolutely ridiculous for accounts with minimal activity, which will no doubt reveal bugger all.

Re: Fund accounts 2016 - Late again!!!
They missed the deadline for filing accounts last year but by hook or by crook they managed to changed the due by date to 31st March, a 3 month extension.
This is not something that is available to other companies and I have never seen it happen before. They must have created some drama and used it as a reasonable excuse to appeal for the extension. Either that the government intervened, yet again.

Re: Fund accounts 2016 - Late again!!!
Looking at sharonl’s post @ [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], after they were given a one months extension (not three), the ‘overdue’ tag clicked in on 2ndFeb, whereas the accounts had already been logged on 31stJan, so maybe they have not missed this years deadline.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
They probably requested and were granted the extension due to the change of accountants and then the resignation & death of Michael Linnett.

Caught this too, Companies House has a useful tool that lets you subscribe to an individual company, so that you are notified of any updates as soon as they happen. Looks like they are a little more prompt this year, will be interesting reading in a few days. No discernable reason to expect a jump in figures, form for funneling money into nameless 'investments' (I hear Daz gets the toughest whites out), Clarence off the books 'officially'...

Re: Fund accounts 2016 - Late again!!!
Accounts are now up. Banged them in on 27th, so just before deadline as usual.
Show basically nothing going on for the year.
Total assets have increased to £823k from £728k, mainly due to book royalty 'donation' of £84k and £12k increase in the stocks and shares value.
Isabel Duarte has been paid the £52k she was owed, which was allowed for in last years accounts.
No income & expenditure account of course, but the 'shop' income before it closed, plus any donations, bugger all in all likelihood, pretty much matched by any expenditure, probably also minimal.

Accounts are now up, but can’t copy & paste as on my phone. No income/expenditure so ca’t say for certain, but pretty much looks like nothing has happened over latest period, surprise, surprise. Just over a grand from ‘bewk’ so not exactly falling off the shelves.

There is a gain of £27,107 on the investment but an overall surplus of only £21,241 (Investment aside, a deficit of £5,866)
Income from Kates' book £1,239 (total £9,946 from book income is assumed to be a cumulative amount on the restricted income from the book in the full accounts over the years).
Not much to go on here but very little appears to be happening apart from the movement on the Investments. Some changes during the year, additions and disposals, some dividends and management fees.
