If you would be so kind as to point me in the direction of the forum rules you think I'm close to breaching, I will be only too pleased to take a read to see where I'm going wrong. Rest assured I don't have a high opinion of myself, or a low one for that matter, I'm just an ordinary punter with an opinion.

I apologize to admin and mods if I've over stepped the mark, I wasn't aware of any forum policy that dictates what a "newbie" posts.

As for my denigrating for the sake of it, there I must defend my honour. I was frankly horrified by the way the forum was heading a few months back, dissention was abound and members were deflecting to a newbie forum set up by a former member of this forum. In the beginning this newbie forum was used mercilessly to attack members here, lies were spread about the running of this forum and false accusations of banning were rife. These attacks also included very unecessary personal insults which is something I will not take lying down. This uncalled for attack spread over many weeks and even continues today, only perhaps not so often. Besides, it's nothing unusual to criticize other fora and blogs, more so if they contain misleading or untruthful information! One particular blog for example frequently churns out most damning stuff about this forum, to which when the occasion arises I will likewise respond.

The former member in question (one of the more prolific agressors who used her own blog as an extra weapon) most certainly does not play nicely. I have tried to reason with her on her blog and have questioned her motives for posting false information but she declines to publish my comments, with the exception of one or two that she uses to insult me or that she knows will attract support for her - it works everytime! Offend or please, that is my defence and I stand by every word. I wish you good day.

Apologies again to forum management for any disruption I may have caused.

I find Verdi's posts informative & sincere.
For example. Imagine if you'd never followed what Birch has done/promised to do and got suckered in to his fantasy world.
Does it not behove us to help those not in the know to be wary of charlatans or those with questionable motives?

Everyone has a right to their opinion. I happen to find yours apposite, succinct and oft indisputable (the invoice is in the post, btw, lol).
However, some have a demonstrable reputation for wasting people's time, Birch being a prime example.

That is excellent news.
Gaunty is the only one who tackled Lorraine on telly viz McCanns.
I used to listen to his show on Talksport and his was the only program I would tune into on that station.
He doesn't hold back (I thought he did a tiny bit with Lorraine) but he has a massive following. clapping

Here's another gobby journalist with nothing other than an opinion to offer who sits on a Sky News sofa reviewing the papers and doing the somewhat mild mannered male version of Katie Hopkins (I haven't seen him recently). This was also on TalkSport. I admit I don't know what TalkSport is, I don't listen to it. I've just googled this because I remember James Whale being such an upfront 'journalist' with a big opinion on just about anything and everything.

As some of you may recall, I was subjected to a particularly bullying interview by 'Shock Jock' James Whale when interviewed by him on TalkSport on 2 December last year on the subject of Madeleine McCann.

I'm pleased to say that OFCOM has made what they call an 'Entertainment Decision' in the case, and have decided that my complaint should now be adjudicated on by their Executive Fairnesss Grooup or possibly by their 'Fairness Committee'.

The complaint, as stated and 'entertained', runs as follows:

QUOTE

"In summary, Mr Bennett complained that he was treated unfairly in the programme, as broadcast, in that:

a) The following assurances were given to him by the programme-makers in advance of his live interview but they were not honoured:

(i) The programme-makers had agreed in writing that there would be a fair introduction which would summarise changing opinion towards the McCanns in the Madeleine McCann case, and

(ii) The programme-makers had also agreed that a 'fair balance of calls' would be taken during the programme from those 'Pro-McCann' and 'McCann-sceptics', like Mr Bennett

b) The presenter, James Whale, adopted a bullying tone throughout the interview, cut Mr Bennett off while he was speaking and accused Mr Bennett of being 'rude' when Mr Bennett had not been rude. There was no debate or discussion during Mr Bennett's interview. Despite Mr Bennett having prepared carefully for his interview, James Whale was so intimidating and unpleasant during the interview that Mr Bennett was given no chance to explain the McCann-sceptic point of view and was barely allowed an opportunity to make any of the points that he had set out in his preparatory notes".

Madeleine is probably dead, and probably died in Apartment 5a in the Praia da Luz apartments. If so, let us learn all the lessons we can from this tragic and evil event. May her death not be in vain

Aside from the Birchs of the world, some people that feign to be McCann sceptics are equally suspect IMO. For these questionable characters the 'neglect' issue is always paramount but any other subject raised that casts doubts on the veracity of 'Tales from the Tapaserie', are strictly taboo. Why would that be I ask? The PJ files are considered sacrosanct yet those very files (that we know of) contain documents such as the T9 witness statements and subsequent rogatory interviews + numerous other witness statements that could be considered as unconvincing as the McCann tribe. Isn't that exactly what so many of us are constantly picking over - the witness statements and associated matters?

In addition, these odd-bods slate just about every outspoken McCann sceptic, irrespective of the veracity of comments. A good example of this, Richard D Hall is apparently Tony's puppet - totally ignoring the fact that Richard's videos are built on the PJ files and interpretation of pertinent media coverage and/or miscellaneous documentation. What the hell does it matter who Richard has been working with to compile his videos, just as long as the information contained therein is true and/or well sourced? I'm currently going through 'Phantoms', though only 45 minutes in, I haven't yet come across anything that doesn't accord with the facts of the case as we, the public, know them to be. His website also invites people to submit constructive alterations or additions, can't be much fairer than that can you? I wonder if any of these curious objects have ever done that.

I think a lot used t0b e on here many realize nothing much to add in all that time ,.some have stayed hoping to find more to add to the truth of how we feel . But sadly not a lot more we could actually use or prove even,so round and round we go . I don't think it can hurt if some people want to make a video etc . lets just waite and see before we go on critasizing . I bet a lot of the oldies read sometimes and realize not a lot has been added,i just keep on hanging in there. joyce1938

I'm not familiar with John Gaunt and podcast/phone in, how exactly does that work? Surely there would be an allotted time slot for participants and some time-lapse to screen abusive callers or pre-vetted by the man himself?

If I'm close to the mark I can't see this idea being much more use than tabloid comments, which is likely to only attract the usual 'why has so much time and money been spent on this case and no other missing children'? Important point of course but not much use if no one ever answers the never ending question - and they don't. I can't think there would be much opportunity for a caller to elaborate on the more pertinent questions surrounding the case.
