Re: Madeleine McCann latest: are police any closer to knowing the truth?
My attention was drawn to the 3rd embedded video, ("The investigation's suspects in 90 seconds"). I hope it's not wishful thinking but I think whoever put it together knew very well what they were doing. I find it interesting how we see the words "Rob is innocent" when they mention Murat, but no similar words of support when we see K or G... I find the use of the semi-smiling arguido Kate telling... I find it an interesting edit the way the audio of the McCanns is poor until the volume increases and we hear GM's voice clearly saying "...Why did Mr Amaral say you hid Madeleine?"... and finally I raised an eyebrow how immediately after that first sight of Gerry we see the Smithman images (n.b. Smithman debates aside, it's fair to say that many people do see a similarity between GM and Smithman e-fits).
Interesting that it came out on April Fool's Day too... now I'm wondering if there's any significance with it coming out on the day that honours deceit and lies.

I have copied this over from TEXTUSA

Today, April’s Fools’ Day, quite aptly, the Telegraph has published the following article:
“Madeleine McCann latest: are police any closer to knowing the truth?
After a new detective takes over the helm of the investigation, Gordon Rayner looks at the latest news on the truth about what happened to Madeleine McCann
By Gordon Rayner, Chief Reporter
10:11AM BST 01 Apr 2015”
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/madeleinemccann/11078595/Madeleine-McCann-are-we-any-closer-to-knowing-the-truth.html
What is interesting is the similarity of this story with the one put as comment in our blog on Jan 20, in our post “2015”:
“Anonymous20 Jan 2015, 16:28:00

http://textusa.blogspot.pt/2015/01/2015.html
And what is amazing is the fact that the two articles above show a remarkable resemblance to the one put as comment in our blog on Feb 08, in our post “Bladderman”:
“Anonymous8 Feb 2015, 14:59:00

And would the reader guess that the EXACT same story was published by the same paper on Mar 17? Just google it.
Exact same article published 4 times this year: Jan 20, Feb 02, Mar 17 and Apr 01.
Do note that the number of article, “11078595” is the exact same for all 4 times it was published. It's not rehashing but reproducing it by just changing the dates!
Same paper, same reporter, different dates. Someone is really trying to tell us something or being terribly lazy.
Happy Fools’ Day with the compliments of the Telegraph.

Is my maths at fault or does it actually count back to 10:00pm on the 2nd May 2015 and NOT the 3rd May?

Intentional, or a mistake?
Could be ANY 'time' really, NONE of the T9 were 'wearing' watches, remember!

p.s. I'm worried there's an error in my maths (as we've straddled midnight I may be a day out)....so I'm going to quickly re-do it and then get some zzZZZ!

REVISED CALCULATION
I hadn't factored in the hours in the Telegraph's 'ticking clock', now I have done so it actually takes the Telegraph's clock further back to a 'Time since Madeleine Disappeared' of 10:00pm 1st May 2007.
I suspect all that's happened is that the Telegraph forgot to factor in the two Leap Years that we've had since 2007. However... Maybe not and it's an intentional nod to the night of the 1st May when Mrs Fenn stated she heard much crying coming from Apt 5a!!

Anyway... I'm off to bed!

Re: Madeleine McCann latest: are police any closer to knowing the truth?
Strange, though from the script in their page they do seem to be trying to calculate it based on 3rd May 2007 at 10pm. I've just played with their script and any "endDate" in the future gives the same result.
The representation is ambiguous though - timeanddate.com have some useful tools and show that you can get different results based on whether you consider taking off the years first or not - I assume because of which side of the 2008 leap year you land on during the initial jump.
The link is here: http://www.timeanddate.com/date/dateadded.html?d1=2&m1=4&y1=2015&type=sub&ay=7&am=&aw=&ad=335&h1=1&i1=29&s1=0&ah=3&ai=29&as=
It gives either the 1st or 2nd May depending how you do the calculation so the Telegraph script simply seems to have a bug.
- Code:
<script class="tgr-countdown__settings" type="application/json">
{
'type': 'countdown',
'options': {
'startDate': '2007/05/03 22:00:00',
'endDate': '2015/05/07 07:00:00',
'progressBar': true,
'reverse': true
}
}
</script>

Re: Madeleine McCann latest: are police any closer to knowing the truth?
So it's just the Telegraph using sloppy code that doesn't take account of the two leap years? Mystery solved, thanks for taking the time to investigaterustyjames wrote:Snipped:
