Just adding...that would be the FSS, the world renowned forensic service that just went 'whoosh'.jeanmonroe wrote:tasprin wrote:Supposing something is found, who will carry out the forensics?
The PJ would, imo, send it ANYWHERE in the world, OTHER than the UK!
And who could/would blame them, after the last 'fiasco' at the UK's FSS?

The McCanns have done all they can. Answered everything put to them. No one could have put themselves on the line more than they. They have run for charity. They have jogged their hearts out to help in this mammoth search. Not a day has gone by when they have known peace of mind. Let us hope all this hard work has paid off and the real perpetrators caught up with at long last.
Please tell me that was somebody's idea of a sick joke.
I suspect its Pink alias' The reporters couldn't find any support for me and mrs in Praia.

Oh, dear.
Answered everything put to them?
Even Kate McCann ADMITS to 'jeopardising' the investigation into her daughter's 'disappearance' by NOT answering questions!
And K McCann was "GLAD the investigation, into her daughter's 'disappearance' was CLOSED!
And KATE MCCANN has stated, publicly, "if the case (into Madeleine's 'disappearance') is re-opened, or NOT, it dosen't matter"
--------------------------------------------------
Oh, dear.
"They have run for charity"
So did Jimmy Savile and Stuart Hall!
--------------------------------
Yep. They certainly did 'everything' they could! (except ACTUALLY 'searching' that is)

Reading the comments you can see how effective their spin doctors are.
There is utter contempt for the Police out there and some of the locals.
How can people sleep at night ruining the lives of a whole town/village who are completely innocent?
Even IF the police did get it wrong, is that justification for ruining lives of so many?

I feel there has been a distinct change in the postings on any McCann story in the Mail. Either the mods on there are allowing a lot to slip through, or there are a great many folk who have become doubters and are more vociferous.
The messages seem to be in blocks pro and then blocks 'anti' . You have to read a whole load of cr*p from pros before encountering a lot of posts in an 'anti' vein. I am, for the time being, in a glass half-full frame of mind about things.

Re: Digging to start next week - UPDATE... starting today 2/6/14
At around 4pm this afternoon, (give or take half an hour, but no doubt repeated anyway) LBC radio correspondent said that, ‘it was known’ that the McCann’s are being kept in the loop on the progress of what’s going on (i.e. digging today and implying and clearly believing, based on further supportive comments he made of the couple, that he believed the police/authorities were sharing inside details with them as if they were in on the digging). He was being asked questions by the news reporter/presenter and it very much sounded like an unqualified waffle statement as though trying to make out he knows his stuff, perhaps after hearing other reporters in the past, when he clearly doesn’t.
I felt that, (unless he could use the clause that they were not being kept up to date any more or less than anyone else), he should be challenged on this claim or at least his source or pure ignorance on the matter.
I imagine if someone stated that it is known that the McCann’s are NOT being updated or kept in the loop, CR might be hovering. Heads I win, tails you lose – isn’t it?

BBC News
For the McCann family, the latest search for evidence about their daughter's disappearance couldn't come soon enough. But some in the resort of Praia da Luz are frustrated by the timing.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Well, that's another lie. In a recent interview the McCann's first complained about the slowness of the Portuguese police and then asked Scotland Yard to delay the search until after Madeleine's birthday party. Sheer cunning, as if any parent of a genuinely missing child would do that.

Hill overlooking the sea where searches are going on , and this is where Kate had a premonition of her daughter being and the basis for their arrest.

Well, that's another lie. The McCann's asked SY to delay the search until after Madeleine's birthday party. As if any parent of a genuinely missing child would do that.
But was that a direct quote? Or from a 'close friend'?
At this point, I don't believe anything said by or in the press. I'm just waiting to see if anything is found and more importantly, what they find.
That should give a strong clue where things are going.

Re: Digging to start next week - UPDATE... starting today 2/6/14
Sky news just sowed the seeds of an expected failure of the search.
Highlighted was how unhappy the locals were and how refusal of searches have so far not been granted and the difficulties of persuading the Attorney General to carry out further searches will be.
A positive was an interview with an American sounding lady who said how frustrating it was for the PDL as the insistence of the digs are happening during the tourist season when the rest of year it is quiet.
Of course the Pros will capitalize on this with their hatred towards the PJ and the innocent PDL residents. When you look at it it has taken 7 years to get this far and cynically looks like they have chosen the most damaging time to carry this out.
Another propaganda victory for the McCann camp I guess.

Decent picture of the entire area and its relation to PdL
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Track up north from the junction of the beach and the rocks.
The first pool you see is the Tapas bar pool with the apartment behind.
To the left (west) of that is the first bit of scruff ground the press told us was going to be excavated, the Smithman venue
and the "Snail formation" is the big round-ish bit further to the West.
In the background to the North is the "Lawless Hinterland with Hellish Lairs". Far too scary for the PJ or anyone else to visit.
It is just cunningly disguised as farms, fields and golf courses

Where is the site of the tents - anyone ? TY
Is that inside or outside PDL ?
It would be a twisted irony if this "hard" evidence is glimpsed on Exton files.
And, if the body is found ( personally I doubt it) before trial date, what will Gerry say on the stand?

SY have got what they wanted, the press, the disruption and the Portuguese doing the work. If it draws a blank they have plenty to take the blame.
Sky News highlighted the Portuguese were doing the search with THEIR equipment, then the picture cut to a couple of Europe hire vans. Then when they said SY would be supplying specialist equipment a cut picture to a R/C drone was shown.
It's a complete joke imo.

If you go onto Google Maps, you can actually walk yourself all around the streets. Go westwards along Rua de 25 April and its at the end - you`ll see the mound.
I would post a pic but my snipping tool doesn`t work here.
