If this is more spin from the Mc's, it seems they want the public to now accept that their daughter is dead. On the otherhand, is this what Andy R. And his team were planning months ago on their trips to Portugal? but the MCC's want us to think that this is just a routine operation to rule out possibilities?

It could also be an interesting play on words.
One of the definitions of "resort" is:
The action of turning to and adopting a strategy or course of action, especially a disagreeable or undesirable one, so as to resolve a difficult situation.

So the cops could be digging away at the McCanns' strategy. IMO.

There was a good deal of early speculation that Madeleine had been buried in the sand, in order to facilitate a type of mummification, before being moved elsewhere. There may be a good possibility that, if this is what happened, there may be vestiges of DNA or other material still there, which could be identified with forensics that did not exist 7 years ago.

And yes, it would be interesting if cadaver dogs had already been used there, and had already tracked the scent of cadaverine to a spot on the beach. Cadaver dogs have been used extensively to locate bodies of victims in landslides, so depth of burial is not an issue.

A load of rubbish , but a beach as we saw with the Jean McConville case in Ireland . does hold a body for decades .She is more likely in Heluva * [ * spelling ] when they went on there magical mystery tour with the pamphlets , under rocks [ hence the legend " leaving no stone unturned "] that phrase IMO is his his trophy from this episode , rather than a physical object . sick sick man .

The McCanns have certainly been going crazy with the "sources" in the last couple of days, between paedophiles (alive) junkie thieves (dead) and pot bellied, smelly serial abusers (not sure if alive or dead or if they even existed at all) with all suggestions leading to a dead Madeleine, I think the Mc's are trying frantically to close this whole thing down.

Problem is, I don't think Redwood or the PJ are ready to do that..just yet!

If Pinkie is refusing to comment, who is this other 'source close to the McCanns'? (Yes, I've corrected your god-awful grammar, Mirror, 'source close to the McCann's', wtf?)

What inconsistent reading that report makes. Routine, looking for possible clues, but not necessarily a body? So why pick three specific sites? The usual scathing disparagement of the Portuguese 'lack of thouroughness' is also a theme running through the article. That said, if there was a body that wasn't removed from the resort, I bet this is a squeaky bum moment for the MCs, whether the digs happen or not.

The beach is one location. Where're the other two - the church & graveyard and the Murat house?

Scotland Yard detectives are preparing to go to Portugal to launch extensive digs in and around the holiday area where the youngster vanished seven years ago at the age of three. The tormented couple have been briefed by officers about their plans to search three sites near the Praia da Luz resort they were staying at.
It is understood a team of highly-skilled forensic officers will use radar equipment to look underground in the grim hunt for clues.
A source close to the McCann’s said: “Kate and Gerry have been told police will be conducting the searches in and around Praia da Luz as soon as they get the green light from Portuguese authorities.
“There will be earth diggers everywhere and it will look very dramatic and it will be a heartbreaking and hugely emotional time for Madeleine’s poor parents.
“They don’t believe police are acting on any new tip off. They just need to carry out their own digs, looking for any possible clues that Portuguese authorities may have missed on their previous searches.
“It will not be a mere fingertip search of certain areas, it will be full ground searches, using radar and other equipment. It is such a sensitive part of their investigation but it has to be done.
Police have assured Kate and Gerry that it does not mean they are specifically searching for her body. They are doing searches as much as to rule scenarios out as much as rule them in. They will be concentrating on several different places at different phases.
“Certain areas should have been searched properly way back by the Portuguese authorities but were not.”
Kate and Gerry will not be going to Portugal but will be kept updated throughout.

They are hardly going to dispose of a body close to home , as his smugness suggests there is no reasonable chance of a discovery . Unless in there initial haste , the Toothbrush , Clothing with Maddies DNA, the pillow etc are buried on the beach ,all inside a blue sports bag ,................... or maybe it's the fridge !!!! spin

The Portuguese Police are not working alongside the Met and are certainly not jumping to the tune of the McCanns.

Could all of this recent nonsense of the Met trying to work with the PJ, who are not co-operating, have something to do with the McCanns being desperate to find out exactly what lines the PJ are investigating and what evidence they have.

The PJ work in silence. Just imagine if they picked up from where they left off when the case was closed and were following the Madeleine died in the apartment line, but now with new and credible evidence. The PJ themselves may announce that Madeleine is dead, they may even be planning to dig up certain areas in Portugal.

Could this be the reason for the media suddenly making references to Madeleines' death and for Kates' sudden need to know if Madeleine is dead, getting in first and putting out the idea that Madeleine may be dead but Kate had no idea?

There is also the sudden news today about travis Vader who was convicted of the joint murder of Marie and Lyle McCann. He is trying to say that they may be still alive and that he was wrongly convicted. Is this a coincidence or is this a bandwagon that they plan to jump on if accused by the PJ?
